Gleason Eugene Gardiner
July 5, 1916 - June 12, 1994
Gleason Eugene Gardiner, 77, formerly of Brookston, died Sunday, June 12, at Murdock Manor, Lafayette. He had lived there since March 31, 1989.
He was born July 5, 1916 to Bertis E. and Precious Pearl Redding Gardiner. He married Hazel H. Reed on May 17, 1935. She resides in California.
He was a 1934 graduate of Brookston High School
He was self employed as a general contractor.
Surviving with his wife are four daughters, Dayna Scruggs, Brookston, Shirley Hill, Crawfordsville, Juanita Smith, Rornney. and Sharron Yoakum, Marysville, TN; two sons, Dale of Reedsville, GA, and Gleason E. Jr. of Cali Mesa, CA; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers are deceased.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, the Rev. Lelan McReynolds officiated.
Burial will be in Spring Creek Cemetery
at a later date.

L. Dale Gardiner
June 8, 1922 - August 12, 1987
Leland Dale Gardiner, 65, died at the scene of a one-vehicle accident at 7:50 p.m., Aug. 12, in White County.
Mr. Gardiner retired from John E. Smith Construction Co. of Lafayette in 1983.
He was born June 8, 1922 in Brookston and attended Brookston schools. He lived at 100 S Midway St., Brookston.
He married Nancy Horn, Oct 25, 1947 in Monticello. She is an employee of Landis & Gyr, Inc.
Mr. Gardiner was in the Army from 1942 to 1945 and served in Europe. He was a member of VFW of Lafayette Post 1154 and Chalmers American Legion Post 268.
Surviving with his widow are a son, Daniel Gardiner, R.1, Brookston; one brother, Gleason Gardiner; and a sister; Mrs. Donal (Delores) Rush, both of R.2, Brookston, and a granddaughter. A brother, Charles, and an infant sister preceded in death.
Service was Saturday, at 2 p.m. in the Hartzler Chapel in Brookston, with the Rev Gene Ansell officiating. Interment was in Spring Creek Cemetery.
Vickie G. Garling
July 21, 1958 - June 10, 2000
Vickie G. Garling, 41, Monon died Saturday, June 10, 2000 at White County Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for a year and a half.
She was born in Lafayette on July 21, 1958 to Pete Garling and Carol Pearson Garling Blount.
She was a 1977 graduate of North White High School.
She was employed at Monon Corp. for 20 years and retired in 1998 due to health reasons.
She attended the First Baptist Church in Monon.
Surviving besides her mother and stepfather, Carol and John Blount, Sr., of Monon, her stepmother Mary Helen Beasy Garling, longtime companion, Curtis Hanway of Monon, three stepbrothers, John Blount, Jr. of Monon, Pete Garling, Jr. of Logansport and Rick Garling of Littleton, Colo; three stepsisters Beverly Young, Melissa Peterson and Erin Garling all of Monon; paternal grandmother, Irene Garling of Monon; and maternal grandmothers. Sue Pearson and Ruth Beasy, both of Monon.
Her father is deceased.
A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon with Rev. James Copeland officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Riley Hospital for Children.
Glen B. Garrott
October 20, 1920 - July 26, 1988
Glen B. Garrott, 67, Brookston, died Tuesday, July 26, at 11:17 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette, where he had been a patient since July 13. He had been in poor health for several months.
He was born in Battle Ground, Oct. 20, 1920. His father was I. Floyd Garrott, a local banker. His marriage in Bloomington, Aug. 9, 1942, was to Lorraine Dorton, who survives.
He was a 1938 graduate of Battle Ground High School and a 1942 graduate of Indiana University.
He lived for 40 years in Brookston, where he owned and operated Garrott Insurance Agency until his retirement
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Brookston American Legion Post No. 251, Lafayette Knights of Pythias, Lafayette Christian Businessmen's Club and the Brookston United Methodist Church.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Chris Krock and Janet Garrott, both of Chicago; one son, Douglas, of Moscow, Idaho; one brother John F. Garrott, Battle Ground; one sister, Alice Gentry, Noblesville, and two grandsons.
The funeral will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Brookston United Methodist Church, the Rev Gene Ancel officiating. Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today at the Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.

Marna L. Garwood
April 13, 1920 - October 16, 2001
Marna Loraine Garwood, 81, of Monon, died Tuesday, October 16, 2001, at Norton Suburban Hospital, Louisville, Ky. She had been ill for two months.
She was born on April 13, 1920, in Minneapolis, Minn, to William Perry and Loraine Brown Iliff. She married Charles Deane Garwood on June 15, 1946, in Goodland. He died Feb. 22, 1974.
She was co-owner of Garwood Airport in Monon for several years, as well as a homemaker.
She was a member of the Monon United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Town & Country Home Extension Club, and over 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, in Monon and Wolcott, and Twin Lakes Senior Citizens Club.
Surviving are sons Charles D. Garwood, Jr., of Indianapolis, and Robert S. Garwood, of Louisville, Ky.; a brother Russell Iliff of Scottsdale, Ariz., and one grandchild. One granddaughter is deceased.
Funeral services were Saturday at Kellogg Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Pickut officiating.
Burial was in Chapel Cemetery, Monon.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Louisville, Ky.
Carl E. Geisler
November 18, 1946 - April 13, 2000
Carl E. Geisler, 53, Monticello, died Thursday, April 13, 2000 at White County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 18, 1946 in Logansport to Paul and Wilma VanVoorst Geisler. He married Donna Dunham Melin on Nov. 22, 1974 in Idaville. She survives.
He was a 1965 graduate of Monticello High School and was employed at Cargill, Inc. in Lafayette for 17 years.
He attended the Idaville Church of God.
He served two tours of duty in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1966-1969.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Julie Willoughby of Monon and Jo Ellen (Mark) Kelley of Monticello; son, James (Jackie) Melin of Redondo Beach, California; parents, Paul and Wilma Geisler of Idaville; granddaughters, Brittany and Tiffany Willoughby and Casondra Kelley; brothers, Tom (Donna) Geisler and Myron (Brenda) Geisler, both of Idaville; sister, Corinne (John) Banks of West Baden Springs; and grandparents, Ernest and Edna VanVoorst of Monticello.
An infant brother is deceased.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alvin Rockey officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery
with military rites.
Julie Diane George
February 14, 1985 - January 22, 2002
Julie Diane George, 16, of Brookston died Tuesday, January 22, 2002 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.
She was born at Lafayette Home Hospital on February 14, 1985, the daughter of Richard and Ann Oilar George.
She was a junior at Frontier High School, a member of the Class of 2003.
She participated in cross-country, track, basketball, cheerleading, choir and Sunshine Society.
During the summer, she was a member of the 4-H Club. She played summer softball as a member of the Comet travelling team and was a member of the McCutcheon Summer Basketball League.
She is survived by her parents, Richard "Rick" and Ann (Oilar) George of Brookston; sister, Jennifer (Sean) Brummett of Brookston; brothers David (Kristen) George of Kouts; grandmother Mildred Macdonald of Indianapolis; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her father is a teacher at Tri-County Middle-High School. Her mother is a fourth grade teacher at Frontier Elementary School.
Grandparents, Harry "Hap" and Eleanor (Biddle) Oilar and grandfather L. Ray George are deceased.
Funeral Services were Friday at Frontier High School, with the Rev. Dr. Lelan McReynolds officiating.
Burial was at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brookston. Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston was in charge of services.
