Raymond W. Kellenberger
July 30, 1923 - September 18, 2001
Raymond W. Kellenberger, 78, of Lafayette, died Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at Rosewalk Village, Lafayette. He had resided there for one year.
He was born in White County on July 30, 1923 to Robert and Opal Hayes Kellenberger. He married Delores Blunk in Lee on November 8, 1945. She died March 3, 1989.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served during World War II.
He was a serviceman with NIPSCO and was retired after 35 years employment.
He was a member and past commander with VFW in Fowler and Lake City, TN. He was also a member of the American Legion and 40&8 of Fowler.
Two daughters, Carol Stonecipher of Livingston, TX and Cindy Stanford of Lafayette; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren survive him.
A brother is deceased.
Graveside services, with full military rites, were held on Friday at Osborne Cemetery
with Pastor Matthew Pickett officiating. Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon was in charge of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donors may make contributions to the charity of their choice.
Lorena Kellenburger
September 14, 1910 - August 31, 1991
Lorena B. Kellenburger, 80, R.1, Reynolds, died Saturday, Aug. 31, at 9:50 a.m. in Murdock Manor, Lafayette.
She was born Sept. 14, 1910, to Wesley R. and Mary A. Crawford Kellenburger, in Gurnsey community of White County.
In 1978 she moved to Reynolds, from West Lafayette, where she had lived for many years.
After 18 years, she retired in 1976 from Purdue University.
She was a member of Reynolds United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Opal Shields, R.1, Reynolds; two nephews, larry G. Shields, Lafayette and Chip Shields, Reynolds. The funeral was Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Rev. John Bell officiating.
Burial was in Bedford Cemetery, Monon.
Dorothea L. Kenworthy
February 21, 1921 - June 20, 1992
Dorothea L. Kenworthy, 71, 616 N. Washington St., Delphi, died Saturday, June 20, in St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi.
She was born Feb. 21, 1921, to Jesse and Eva Cuppy Lockman, in Brookston. She was married April 14, 1940, to James E. "Buss" Kenworthy, in Brookston, and he survives.
She was a 1939 graduate of Brookston High School.
She and her husband owned and operated Kenworthy Home Store at Delphi from 1940, until they retired in 1983.
She was a member of the Pittsburg Church of the Brethren, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and officer of the church She was a member of the Pittsburg Modern Homemakers Club.
Surviving with her husband are one son, Robert 0. "Bob" of Delphi; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Three brothers are deceased.
The funeral was Tuesday in the Pittsburgh Church of the Brethren, the Rev. John Nalley officiating. The Horn Funeral Home, Delphi, was in charge.
Burial was in IOOF Memorial Gardens, Delphi.
Nancy D. Scott Kerr
September 15, 1917 - January 20, 1997
Nancy D. Scott Kerr, 79, died Monday, Jan. 20, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette, where she was admitted Sunday.
She was born Sept. 15, 1917, to Leroy and Dora Pruitt Scott, in Monroe County, Kentucky. She was married Dec. 16, 1934, to Roy H. Kerr in Celina, Tennessee, and he died Sept. 1, 1968.
She had lived in Brookston since 1975, moving from Tippecanoe County.
She was a homemaker, and a member of Brookston Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, Willard "Hank" Kerr, Brookston and T.C. Kerr, St. Cloud, Florida; a brother, Ted Scott, Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Two sons, a daughter, a grandson, three great grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters are deceased.
The funeral was Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Guzman officiating. Burial was in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Brookston Church of Christ or the American Heart Association. ·
Willie "Bill" Kerr

Word has been received of the death of Willie "Bill" Kerr, 75, on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at his home in Sigman Mobile Home Court in Brookston.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston.
Ruby Louise Duncan Kessler
May 10, 1923 - January 10, 1999
Ruby Louise Duncan Kessler, 75, former Lafayette resident died Sunday, January 10, 1999 at the Indiana Veterans home in West Lafayette.
She and her husband had farmed on Morehouse Road then moved to Lafayette. They had lived at the Veterans Home for the pest three years, She was a homemaker.
She was born May 10, 1923 in Langston, Alabama, the daughter of James and Susie Kilingsworth Duncan.
Her marriage was to Robert E. Kessler on February 3, 1969 and he survives along with a daughter Wymanette Tubbs of Mesa, Arizona and a son, Bill Joe Winston of Lafayette and one sister Rita Ward of Langstron, Alabama. She had 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the Hartzler Funeral Home an Brookston at 2:00 p.m on Thursday. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before services.
Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery
in Brookston.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Joy McCully Brackney Kester
July 23, 1902 - December 20, 1995
Joy M. McCully Brackney Rester, 93, formerly of Brookston, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, at National Health Care Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, following a stroke.
She was born July 23, 1902, to Hamilton E. McCully and Mary Jane Smith McCorkle, in Idaville. Her first marriage was in 1924, to Emory Paul Brackney, who died in 1936. Her second marriage was in 1957, to Charles W. Rester, in Lafayette, and he died in 1987.
From 1910-57, she lived in Brookston. In 1957, she moved to Ohio and in 1986 to Indianapolis. She moved to Florida in 1991.
She graduated in 1920, from Brookston High School and from Depauw University in 1924.
She taught music at Monon for one year. She was manager of Brackney Farms while living in White County.
She was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority while at Depauw. She was also a member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority in Brookston and Borough's Club in Dayton, Ohio.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James (Joyann) McEnaney of Pompano Beach, Fla. and Marilyn Thorn of Palm Desert, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Dolores Kester Allen of Tucson, Arizona; and seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A brother, William McCully, is deceased.
The funeral was Thursday, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Rev. Lelan McReynolds officiating.
Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
Memorials may be given to charity.
Paul S. Kidwell
September 18, 1924 - February 12, 1995
Paul S. Kidwell, 70, of 507 Shafer Drive, died Sunday morning, Feb. 12, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was born Sept. 18, 1924 in LaGrange. KY to J.G. and Ethel Sanders Kidwell. He married Virginia Stethen in 1943 in LaGrange, KY, and she survives.
He was retired from farming.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and served in Italy, Sicily and Africa. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Monticello.
He lived in White County for the past 39 years.
Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Dick (Judy) Marks of Delphi; two brothers, James Kidwell of Louisville, KY, and Wardie Kidwell of Buckner, KY; two sisters, Bertha Kidwell of Frankfort, KY, and Judy Snell of Clarks Hill; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and three sisters are deceased.
No funeral or visitation was scheduled.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, was in charge of arrangements.
Leigh Adeline Kiger
March 29, 1958 - January 10, 2001
Leigh Adeline Kiger, 42, of rural Brookston died Wednesday, January 10, 2001 in a house fire at her residence.
She was born in Monticello on March 29, 1958. to Clayton and Marcella Smith Combs. She married Kenton Kiger in Monticello on June 29, 1988 and he survives
She attended Delphi schools and received her G.E.D. She was a homemaker and enjoyed hunting and gardening.
She is survived by her husband; stepsons. Joshua Kiger of Lebanon and Clyde (Amy) Kiger of Frankfort; her parents, Clayton and Marcella Combs of Delphi; her grandmother, Phoebe Combs of Idaville and Robert Combs of Florida; sisters, Patty Lehr of Tennessee and Teresa (Jeff) Houser of Delphi; a step grand-daughter, Alison Kiger; seven nieces: 11 nephews; two great nieces and a great nephew public memorial service was held on Sunday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston with Jack Kiger officiating.
Memorials can be made to YMCA Camp Tecumseh for support of youth programs.
