Henrietta Kirkendall

November 19, 1925 - November 27, 2001
Henrietta Flick Kirkendall, 76, Brookston, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. She had been hospitalized since Nov. 20th.

She was born Nov. 19, 1925, to Robert and Edna Faye Wilcox Flick, in French Lick. She married Joe Kirkendall and he is deceased.

She graduated in 1943 from French Lick High School.

She lived in Florida before moving to Lafayette, where she resided 10 years. She had lived in Brookston for two years.

She was a homemaker. While in Florida, she was a citrus inspector.

She was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons Marvin (Barbara) Owens of Logansport and John (Rita) Kirkendall of Brookston; daughters Arlene Sue Kirkendall of Indianapolis; Marilyn (Randy) Howard, Delphi, Bev (Mike) Bolyard, Battle Ground and Deb (Joe) Spear of Brookston; sisters Madeleine (Owen) Simmons and Charlotte (Harold) Cave, both of lndianapolis: 13 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

A brother, Robert is deceased.

Services were Saturday at the Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Pastor Bruce Mowery officiating.

Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brookston.

Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.

Oscar B. 'Big 0' Kirkpatrick

June 25, 1921 - December 26, 1994
Oscar B. "Big 0" Kirkpatrick, 73, Delphi, died Monday, Dec. 26, at 6:40 a.m., in Home Hospital, Lafayette, where he had been a patient since Nov. 30.

He was born June 25, 1921, to Monroe and Margaret Lewis Kirkpatrick, in Delphi. He was married July 13, 1946, to Betty Hayden, in Crown Point, and she is surviving.

He was employed at Glove Valve Corp. in Delphi and then worked for more than 30 years in the Ross Gear Division of TRW at Lafayette, before retiring in 1981.

He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theater at the Battle of Normandy and Rhineland. He was awarded the Purple Heart and three Bronze Stars.

He attended the Pittsburg Church of the Brethren. He was a 49-year member of Delphi American Legion Post No. 75 where he was post commander in 1961 and 1962. He was awarded the Legion's C.C. Crampton award. He also was a 36-year member of the Forty & Eight Voiture No. 54 in Lafayette, Moose Lodge No. 1529, Lafayette, the Loomers Club of the lodge and the Ross Gear Retirees Club.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Sandra) Cripe, R.4, Delphi and Mrs. Milt (Marcia) Pitty,R.1, Delphi; a son, Michael "Otto", West Lafayette; five sisters, Mrs. James (Merle) Odell, Chalmers, Mrs. James (Frances) Berry, Fowler, Mrs. Donald (Mary Ruth) Collum, Lafayette; Mrs. James (Elizabeth) Davis, Lafayette and Mrs. Leland (Norma) Wilkinson, Crawfordsville, three brothers, Jack and Paul, Lafayette and Lewis, Monticello; eight grandchildren and a great-grandson.

An infant son, Charles Madison and a brother, Donald A. are deceased.

The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11 am. at the Pittsburg Church of the Brethren, Pastor Terry Vaught officiating.

Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the church.

military graveside rites will be conducted at IOOF Memorial Gardens, Delphi.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Oscar Kirkpatrick Memorial Fund, Delphi Community High School and the Pittsburg Church of the Brethren Memorial Fund.

Mary E. Kiser

June 29, 1926 - June 24, 1998
Mary Evelyn Kiser, 71, of 2484 North U.S. Highway 35, Logansport, formerly of Monon, the grandmother of area residents, died Wednesday, June 24, at 11:40 am., in St Vincent hospital, Indianapolis.

She was born June 29, 1926, to Luther and Mary Elizabeth Rees Towe, in Kokomo. She was married April 30, 1944, to Dean F. Kiser in Wolcott and he survives.

She was employed at Logansport State hospital and retired in 1987 after 24 years of service.

She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

She was a member of American Legion Post 60 Ladies Auxiliary and a life member of VFW Post 3790 Ladies Auxiliary.

Local survivors are grandchildren Joyce and Pat Conn, Monon, Curt Byroad, Monon and Dan byroad, Buffalo.

Two sister and two brothers are deceased.

Funeral services were Saturday in McCloskey-Hamilton-Gundrum Funeral Home, Logansport, with the Rev. William Art Maloney officiating.

A VFW service was held at the funeral home.

Burial was in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Logansport.

Narvil Kiser

February 1, 1906 - February 25, 1989
Narvil Kiser, 83, Brookston, died Saturday, Feb. 25, at 5:25 p.m. in Monticello Community Healthcare Center. He was a patient there since Aug. 3. He had been in poor health for three years.

He was born Feb. 1, 1906 to Stephen and Cora Belle Puckett Kiser, in Morehead, Kentucky. He was married Nov. 11, 1932, to Lillie Mae Stacy, in Morehead. She died on May 3, 1949.

He was a logger and saw mill operator most of his life. He moved to Indiana and White County 45 years ago.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Mary Bell Collins, Brookston; Mrs. Gracie Thompson, Knox; Mrs. Ina Cloe Patrick, Burnettsville and Mrs. Vivian Sue Dulin, R.1, Monon; 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

One daughter, two brothers and two sisters are deceased.

The funeral was conducted Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Northcutt Funeral Home at Morehead, Ky. Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home was in charge of local service.

Burial was in McBrayer Cemetery, Elliotville, Kentucky.

Russell A. Kiser

May 13, 1913 - July 14, 1998
Russell A. Kiser, 85, Monticello, died Tuesday, July 14, at Monticello Healthcare Center. He resided in the center for 2 1/2 years. He was born May13, 1913, to Hazel Kiser, in White County. He was married Oct. 17, 1935 to Anna W. Burris, in Chalmers and she died Oct. 3, 1989.

He had been a life-long resident of White County.

He farmed until 1954 and then worked at White County Machine Shop until 1973.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lewis (Evelyn) Brewer, Monticello and Mrs. Robert (Peggy) Cramer of Mission Viejo, California; a son, Larry of Chalmers; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Two sons are deceased.

Funeral services were Saturday, July 18 at Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello. Burial was in Yeoman Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Monticello Healthcare Center.

Bernice G. Klaubo

June 27, 1929 - March 8, 2003
Bernice G. Klaubo, of Monon, died Saturday, March 8, 2003 at White County Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on June 27, 1929 the daughter of George and Pauline Bertram Hipko. She married Charles J. Klaubo, Jr., on October 28, 1950 in Hammond, Indiana. He survives.

She was a retired nurse, homemaker and had sold Avon Products.

She had lived in the Monon community for 17 years, coming from Crown Point, Indiana.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, in Monticello.

She was a graduate of Bishop Noll High School in Hammond and St. Joseph's School of Nursing, South Bend.

Surviving besides her husband are a daughter; Caroline Jankovich of Crown Point and two sons, Steven Klaubo of St. John, Indiana and Thomas Klaubo of Crown Point, and four grandchildren.

A son, Michael Klaubo; three granddaughters, Victoria Klaubo, Calen Klaubo and Katelin Reeves and a grandson, Jacob Klaubo, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2003 at Kellogg Funeral Home.

Memorial Services will follow the visitation on Thursday, at the funeral home with Father James Goodrum officiating. Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Charles H. Klepinger

October 28, 1921 - August 17, 1999
Charles H. Klepinger, 77, of Lafayette, died Tuesday, August 17, at Regency Place, where he had lived since June 16.

He was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Brookston and attended Brookston High School. He was a life resident of the Lafayette area.

He was married in 1956, to Jane A. Bonnet. She preceded him in death, Jan. 29, 1990.

He served in the Air corps during World War II and was a machine operator at Ross Gear for 36 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of F&AM 154 in Monticello.

Survivors are three daughters, Nancy Brockman, Indianapolis; Mrs. Dominic (Carol) DeRosa, Highland and Mrs. Norman (Krystal) Jansen, Portage; a son, William H. Klepinger, Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Zelma Gross, Big Fork, Minn. and Mrs. Ida Dawson, Huntington.

Seven grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers. 5 sisters and a granddaughter.

Services were Saturday at Tippecanoe Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Greg Eberhard officiating.
