R. Wanda North Klepinger

October 10, 1913 - August 19, 1995
R. Wanda North Klepinger, 81, 1016 E. Monroe St., Delphi, died Saturday, Aug. 19, at 5:45 p.m. at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City. Mich., where she had been a patient since Aug. 6th.

She was born Oct. 10, 1913, in Brookston, to Thomas D. and Margaret Stewart North. She was married June 19, 1938, to John F. Klepinger, in Brookston and he survives. Her husband retired as president of the former Union Bank and Trust in Delphi.

She graduated from Brookston High School in 1931 and from Manchester College in 1934.

She taught fourth grade in Brookston, from 1934 to 1939 and third grade at the former Pittsburg grade school until retiring in 1972. She had played the organ for the Horn Funeral Home in Delphi for the past 13 years.

She was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church, Delphi, where she was a longtime member of the choir and director of the adult choir for more than 30 years.

The church honored her in 1978 with a "This is Your Life" celebration for having served as choir director.

She was a member of the National and Indiana Teachers Associations, a 50-year member of the Carroll Chapter No. 475 of the Order of Eastern Star and the Oracle Club.

She was a charter member of Psi Iota Xi sorority, Delphi. She was also active in bridge circles in Delphi.

Surviving with her husband are two sons, Richard D. of Elkhart and John W. "Jack" of Ogden, Utah; two daughters-in-law, Susan of Elkhart and Patricia of Ogden, Utah; and two grandsons, Scott E. of Elkhart and Nicholas P. of Ogden, Utah. A twin brother, R. Warren North is deceased.

The funeral was Wednesday at Horn Funeral Home, with Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating. A Psi Iota Xi memorial service was also held.

Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.

Memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Delphi.

George M. Klink

January 22, 1934 - January 1, 2003
George Michael Klink, 68, of West Lebanon, Indiana died Wednesday, January 1, 2003, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

He was born January 22, 1934, in Chalmers and spent his early life in the Chalmers community, graduating from Chalmers High School in 1952.

His marriage was to Marilyn A. Vogel on June 8, 1957, in Remington. She survives.

Mr. Klink served in the Indiana National Guard from 1952 until 1958. He farmed in White County until he moved to his present farm south of Lebanon in 1959. He was a livestock and grain producer.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon. He enjoyed reading and sports.

Surviving beside his wife are six children. Michael S. Klink, Suzanne M. Barkley, and Timothy J. Klink of Lafayette, John A. Klink of Cypress, Texas, and Thomas D. Klink of Plymouth, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Mary Alice) Mellon of Monticello and Dorothy M. Klink of Venice, Florida.

Also surviving are twelve grandchildren.

Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon with Rev. Anthony Levi officiating on Saturday, January 4, 2003.

Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lebanon.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon.

Marynell Klink

January 24, 1904 - December 30, 1993
Maryneil Klink, 89, of Lafayette, died December 30th in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, following an illness of several months.

She was born January 24, 1904, in Chalmers. She married Theodore Klink July 4, 1927, in Reynolds, and he died December 20, 1982.

She graduated from Chalmers High School in 1923, and from Home Hospital School of Nursing in 1927.

She had lived in the Chalmers and Logansport communities.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Reynolds.

Surviving are a son, George M. Klink of Lebanon; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Mary Alice) Mellon of Buffalo, and Dorothy May Klink of Venice, Fla.

Other survivors include two sisters, Alice Horsewood of Monticello and Elsie Sanger of San Francisco. She also had 9 grand children, 18 great grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Reynolds with Rev. Richard Miller officiating. Interment was in St. Boniface Cemetery, Lafayette. Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello was in charge of services.

Melvin G. Klinkhamer

September 20, 1916 - October 21, 1995
Melvin G. Klinkhamer, 79, Monticello, died Saturday, Oct. 21, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He had been in failing health for the last five years.

He was born Sept. 20, 1916, to Guy and Edna Deckard Klinkhamer, in Round Grove. He was married Jan. 23, 1943, to Jean M. Pasek, in Marinette, Wisconsin, and she survives.

He attended Chalmers Schools.

He lived most of his life in the Monticello area and farmed for 30 years before retiring in 1977.

He drove a school bus for 25 years for the Twin Lakes School Corporation.

He was a World War II Army veteran serving in the Pacific Theater. He was one of the first group of recruits to be drafted in January, 1941, from Monticello.

He was a member of the Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, Holy Name Society at the church and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, all of Monticello.

He was a former member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge, both of Monticello.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Borje (Judie K.) Servin, Tyringe, Sweden and Diana L. Graham, Anaheim, California; a son, Daniel, Battle Ground; a grandson Jeff, Lafayette; two daughters, and two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Anna Pearl) Buntin, Brookston and Mrs. Don (Rosemary) Chamberlain, Chalmers.

The funeral was Wednesday at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, with Rev. James Goodrum and Rev. Robert Fosselman officiating.

Burial was in IOOF Riverview Cemetery with military rites.

Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello was in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Klinkhamer

November 19, 1911 - April 11, 1997
Ruth Marie Hartman Klinkhamer, 85, Brookston, died Friday, April 11, at 6 a.m., in St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi.

She was born Nov. 19, 1911, to Marcellus and Laura Stewart Hartman, in Brookston. She was married Feb. 12, 1933 to Andrew Klinkhmaer in Brookston, and he died Sept. 5, 1996.

She was a graduate of Brookston High School.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Brookston Federated Church.

Surviving are two sons, Robert C. Klinkhamer and Steven H. Klinkhamer; a daughter, Marcia K. Morehouse, all of Brookston; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, an infant son and a grandson.

Funeral services were Monday at 11 a.m. in the Brookston Federated Church with the Rev. Dr. Lelan MeReynolds officiating.

Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brookston.

Memorials may be given to the Brookston Federated Church.

Robert M. Koebcke

June 10, 1922 - August 23, 1997
Robert M. Koebcke, 75, Brookston, died Saturday, Aug. 23, at Heritage Healthcare Center in West Lafayette. He had been a patient there since August 18.

He was born Jun. 10, 1922, to William and Mary Allee Koebcke, in Francesville. He was married July 1, 1945, to Arlene Holeman in Reynolds. She expired Dec. 19, 1995.

He graduated from Francesville High School in 1940, and had lived in Brookston for 37 years after moving from Francesville.

He served in the US. Army from Nov. 1945 until June 1947, with TEC 5 Headquarters Detachment MFSS, Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

He was a driver for Bartlett Ford in Brookston for several years. He worked at Pearless Wire in Lafayette and retired from Landis Gyr, also in Lafayetee in 1986.

He was a member of the Brookston United Methodist Church and church choir. He sang bass with the Koebcke Kids, a quartet from the church.

He was a member of Brookston American Legion Post 251.

Survivors include three sons, William of Chalmers, Roger of Wingate and Barry of Frankfort; a sister, Wilma Rauer, Reynolds; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday; Aug. 28, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Pastor Mark T. Kurowski officiating.

Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.

Memorials may be given to Brookston United Methodist Church.

Kenneth L. Kopf Sr.

July 14, 1922 - August 30, 1994
Kenneth L. Kopf Sr., 72, West Lafayette, was dead on arrival at Goshen Hospital at 8:37 a.m. Tuesday. Aug. 30. He was in the Goshen area visiting relatives.

He was born July 14, 1922 in Lafayette. He married Bethel Dagley on April 3, 1942 in Lafayette.

He attended the Battle Ground Bible Church. He retired from Peerless Wire in 1984.

Surviving with his wife are three sons, Kenneth L. Kopf Jr. of Mottville, MI, and Jerry and Steve Kopf, both of Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Terry) Kopf of Goshen and Kathy House of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Bernard (Ruth) Ruiz of Lafayette and Mrs. Estella Michaels of Titusville, FL; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Seven brothers and 2 sisters are deceased.

Services were held September 1 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, Pastor Chester Martin officiated.

Interment was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
