Harry A. Kopka
October 30, 1916 - June 28, 1999
Harra Albert Kopka, 82, Francesville, died Monday, June 28, at 11:10 a.m. in Winamac Hospital.
He was born Oct. 30, 1916, to Albert and Laura Olson Kopka, in Francesville. H was married Aug. 18, 1956, to Patricia Joan Hess, in Monon. She survives.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in Panama and Germany.
He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by two sons. Don Kopka, Monon and Ron Kopka, Francesville; two stepsons, Butch Ramsey, Monon and Kenny Ramsey, Anderson; two sisters, Opal Steele and Ethel Siedel, both of Winamac; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A grandchild is deceased.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 am. in Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, with the Rev. Mark Dressler officiating. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery, near Monon, with graveside military rites.
Patricia Joan Kopka
March 9, 1927 - April 12, 2003
Patricia Joan Kopka, 76, of Francesville, died Saturday, April 12, 2003 at Anderson Community Hospital, Anderson, IN.
She was born on March 9, 1927, in Monon to Joseph T. and Evonne Curwick Hess. She married Harry Albert Kopka on August 18, 1956, in Monon. He died June 28, 1999.
She had lived in the area her entire life. She was a 1945 graduate of Monon High School.
She was a homemaker and retired farmer.
She was a member of the Monon Wesleyan Church.
She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Monticello and Royal Neighbors of DeMotte.
Surviving are sons, Eugene "Butch" Ramsey and Don Kopka, both of Monon and Kenneth Ramsey of Anderson; brother, Russell "Buck" Hess of Monon; sister Norma Pierce of Monon; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A son Ronald Kopka, a sister and one grandchild are deceased.
Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16 at Kellogg Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Eisner officiating.
Burial will be at Bedford Cemetery, Monon.
Memorials may be made to the Monon Wesleyan Church.
Adam Jeffrey Krintz
April 7, 1983 - June 29, 2002
Adam Jeffrey Krintz, 19, Monticello died on Saturday, June 29, 2002, at Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been hospitalized for a week after being diagnosed with leukemia.
He was born on April 7, 1983, in Lafayette, to Jeff and Georgette Van Worst Krintz.
He lived in Monticello his entire life, and was a 2002 graduate of Twin Lakes High School.
He played basketball and was in the Spirit of Twin Lakes Marching Band. He was also on the track team his senior year. He was crowned as the basketball homecoming king as a senior.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, and had served as an altar boy at the church.
He loved playing drums, and was also in a band.
Surviving are his parents, of Monticello; sisters, Lindsey and Carly Krintz, both at home; paternal grandmother Ruth Ann Mitchell of Monticello; and several aunts and cousins. The funeral was today at Our Lady of the Lakes, with Father James Goodrum and Father Brian Doerr officiating. Miller-Roscka was in charge of the services.
Burial was at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Betty J. Krintz
June 14, 1925 - November 11, 2002
Betty J. Krintz, 77, of Monticello, died Monday, November 11, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.
She was born in Gary on June 14, 1925, to Raymond and Dorothy Douglas Sieckman. She married Lloyd C. Krintz in Reynolds on September 2, 1945. He died May 14, 2001.
She attended high school in Reynolds.
She was a homemaker and farmed for many years in Reynolds with her husband.
She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church, Monticello.
She painted, loved outdoor activities, fishing and traveling.
Survivors include a son, Dennis D. (Nancy) Krintz of Monticello; a daughter Beverly (Charles) Klopfenstein of Reynolds; a brother Robert (Sue) Sieckman of Reynolds; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, November 15, 2002 at New Hope Lutheran Church with Rev. George Silavs officiating.
Buria1 was in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Reynolds.
Memorials may be made to New Hope Lutheran Church.
Opal M. Kubly
April 22, 1899 - July 27, 1992
Opal M. Kubly, 93, of Carroll County, died Monday, July 27, 1992, at the White County Memorial Hospital. She had been in the hospital one day, and ill for one month. She was born near Brookston on April 22, 1899 to Oscar and Nancy Barney Harmon. She married James S. Kubly in Brookston on January 1, 1919. He died Sept. 16, 1949.
She graduated valedictorian of Brookston High School Class of 1917. She lived in White County for several years and in Carroll County since 1972.
She retired from the former Bryan Manufacturing Co., Monticello after working there 21 years.
She was a member of the former Brookston Christian Church. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary, Monticello.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Walter P. (Marge E.) Dismore, Monticello; two sons, Norman E. of Toledo, OH and William B. "Bill", Kokomo; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Alta Bir, Monticello.
One daughter, three sons, one grandchild, three brothers and a sister are deceased.
The funeral was today at Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello, the Rev. Donald Arterburn officiating.
Burial in IOOF Riverview Cemetery.

Regina Mae Kupke
May 3, 1897 - June 4, 1999
Regina Mae Kupke, 102, of Rensselaer, died June 4, 1999 at Rensselaer Care Center where she had been a resident for the past 10 years.
She was born May 3, 1897 in Ford County, Illinois.
She married John L. Kupke on January 1, 1914 in Rensselaer. He died May 15, 1979.
She had been a Rensselaer resident since 1905, having attended the Jasper County Public Schools. She was a member of the Barkley Township Methodist Church, the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer and the Barkley Ladies Aid, She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Melvin (Elsie) Kupke of Naperville, IL; and two daughters, Mary M. Gutwein of Monon and Alta M. Stewart of Rensselaer; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Three brothers are deceased.
Funeral services were Tuesday, June 8, 1999 in Jackson Funeral Chapel, Rensselaer, with Pastor Bill Dunfee officiating.
Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Rensselaer, Indiana.
Eva Lachmund
May 7, 1899 - February 10, 1989
Eva M. Cuppy Lachmund, 89, formerly, of Brookston, died at 3:40 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, in Birchwood Manor, Delphi. She had lived there since Nov 1, 1985.
She was born May 7, 1899 and a native of White County. She was married Nov 29, 1918 to Jesse C. Lachmund, in Brookston. They farmed until 1937 then moved to Brookston. He died Jan 23, 1958.
Mrs. Lachmund was a pie maker at Miller's Cafe for 13 years then worked in the laundry at Indiana Veteran's Home in West Lafayette until retiring in 1969.
She was a member of Brookston Federated Church; Philathia Sun day School Class; and Sew Club. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. James (Dorothea) Kenworthy of Delphi. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren. Three sons, 2 brothers, 1 sister preceded in death.
Service was Monday at 2 p.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston. with the Rev. John Nalley officiating.

Dylan Wade LaGue
May 29, 1990 - August 1, 2002
Dylan Wade LaGue, 12, Brookston died Thursday, August 1, 2002 at Riley Hospital for Children in 1ndianapolis. He was diagnosed with leukemia in 1997.
He was born May 29, 1990, in Lafayette, to William and Judy Stover LaGue.
He completed fifth grade at Frontier Elementary School.
He enjoyed building with Legos, collecting coins, and loved to perform magic tricks and music.
Surviving with his parents are a brother, Calvin LaGue, at home; sister Carly Drye, at home; paternal grandparents, Marwin and Amy LaGue of Brookston; maternal grandparents Duane and Mary Stover of Clarks Hill; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
His maternal grandmother, Rose Stover, is deceased.
Funeral services were Friday, August 2 at Miller-Roscka Funeral home with Rev. Ed Selvidge officiating. Burial was in Hughes Cemetery.
