Frances Ann Lemar

January 30, 1935 - May 17, 1992
Frances Ann Lemar, 57, 901 Ft. Wayne Ave., Indianapolis, and formerly of Monon, was found dead at her residence, Sunday, May 17. She had lived in Indianapolis for the past three years.

She was born Jan. 30, 1935, in Monon, and was the daughter of David L. and Ovie Ford Amick. She was married April 10, 1956 to Ronnald C. Lamar, in Monon.

She was a registered nurse and homemaker. She had lived in Monon most of her life and had lived in Troy, Ohio, from 1961 to 1981.

She graduated in 1953, from Monon High School. She was a member of the Monon United Methodist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Ronnald, three sons: Lee of Monon, Mark of Wilmore, Kentucky and Alan of Brook. One sister, Betty DelVecchio, Monon and one brother, Jerry Amick, Brookston, and a granddaughter, also survive. One brother is deceased..

A memorial service will be held at the Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, at 11 a.m., May 27, with Rev. Roy Lee officiating. Interment was in Bedford Cemetery.

June K. Leming

January 14, 1935 - August 9, 1988
June Kathleen Leming, 53, a long-time resident of Brookston, died Tuesday, August 9, in Marble Falls, Texas.

She was born Jan. 14, 1935 in Lafayette, and moved to Texas in 1974.

She was married to Dutch Leming, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Vicky Parmlee, Tucson, Ariz; one son, Gary Leming, Marble Falls, a sister, Rosalie Balkema, West Point; and one brother, Eugene Redding, Tipton.

Service and burial was last Friday in Marble Falls.

Wilma Jean Leming

September 2, 1923 - March 27, 1999
Wilma Jean Leming, 75, 205 E. Fisher St., died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1923, in Rockfield to Earl and Ima Shuey Snyder.

She married James D. Speer on Aug. 29, 1941. He died June 26, 1970, She married Fred Leming on Feb. 2, 1973. He died July 8, 1992.

She was a 1941 graduate of Burnettsville High School and lived in the Yeoman area most of her life. She moved to Monticello in 1985.

She worked at the former Bryan Manufacturing Co. the former Central Lab in Lafayette.

She was a member of the Monticello Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship.

She also was a member of the White County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Twin Lakes Senior Citizens Club and Choir.

She is survived by five daughters, Cindra Marris of Urbana, Ohio, Judy Childers and Shannon Smith, both of Monticello, Diana Hollis of Lafayette and Janice Fultz of Brookston; a sister, Maxine Pownell of Logansport; two brothers, Clifford Snyder of Carmel and Rex Snyder of Logansport; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday at Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donald Arterburn officiating.

Burial was in the Yeoman Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Ronald E. Lessner

January 19, 1946 - September 24, 1990
Ronald E. Lessner, 44, Chalmers, died at 12:17 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette. He had been hospitalized one day and had been ill three months.

He was born Jan. 19, 1946, in Chicago. Thirteen years ago he moved to Chalmers, 119 Second Street. He had lived in Elmhurst, Illinois.

Mr. Lessner was an Army veteran and served during the Vietnam era. He was a member and service officer of American Legion Post 268 at Chalmers and was a member of the 40 & 8 at Monticello.

Surviving are his mother, Lillian Leasner, Woodridge, Ill, and a brother, Wayne Lessner, Elmhurst, Ill. A cousin, Betty Doud, Woodridge, Ill., survives.

The funeral was today at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Reynolds, .with Father Dave Fosselman officiating.

Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Reynolds.

Infant Maranda Kay Lewis

June 13, 2001
Infant Maranda Kay Lewis, of Monticello, was dead at birth on Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at White County Memorial.

Her parents are Jason Neil Lewis and Nattalie Ranae Lynch Lewis of Monticello.

She is also survived by a sister, Sidnie Lewis of Monticello; maternal grandparents, Tammy Lynch and Ignacio Guzman, both of Monon, paternal grandparents, Nick and Marilyn Lewis of Monon; and paternal great grandmother, Clara Luhman of Cissna Park, IL.

Private graveside services were held on Saturday at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville with Rev. Tom Bennett officiating.

Kellogg Funeral Home was in charge of the services.

Anna Florence Linback

August 8, 1913 - October 29, 1999
Anna Florence Linback, 86, of Monon, died Friday, October 29, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.

She was born August 8,1913, to Asa and Ida Gant Thompson, in Rantoul, Ill. She was married February 20, 1939, to Walter August Linback in Monticello, and he died December 22, 1993.

She was a 1932 graduate of Monon High School and was a homemaker. She lived in the community most of her life.

She had lived at the Park View Haven Nursing Home for the past two years and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Francesville.

She is survived by sons, Donald Linback of Rockledge, Florida and Rex and Larry Linback, both of Monon; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A son and sister are deceased.

Funeral services were Monday at Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, with Dennis Gutwein and the Rev. Warren Allen officiating.

Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.

Memorials may be given to Monon First Responders.

Barbara J. Linback

January 22, 1952 - December 2, 2000
Barbara J. Linback, 48, of Idaville, died Saturday, December 2, 2000, at Monticello Healthcare center.

She was born on January 22, 1952, in Logansport to Paul and Mildred Anderson Pugh.

She lived in Idaville most of her life and was a 1970 graduate of Twin Lakes High School.

She worked at A.O. Smith for the past five years and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Logansport.

She is survived by a daughter, Danielle Linback of Lafayette; son Lewis Linback of Idaville; brothers Steven Pugh of West Lafayette, Lewis and John Pugh, both of Idaville, and David Pugh of Logansport; sisters, Karen Schmitz and Bonita Thompson, both of Idaville, Mary Foster of Monon and Sara Pugh of Monticello; and companion, Allen Williams of Idaville.

Funeral service was Tuesday at Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home.

Burial was in Pisgah Cemetery, Lake Cicott.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Harry A. Linback, Sr.

March 5, 1923 - May 23, 1993
Harry A. Linback, Sr., 70 Brookston, died Sunday morning, May 23 at Home Hospital; Lafayette, where he had been a patient since May 5.

He was born March 5, 1923, in Francesville, to Chris August and Iris Irinda Farr Linback. He married Mary E. Smith on January 1, 1959, in Francesville, and she survives.

He had lived in Brookston since 1959.

He retired in 1975 with a health disability from Ross Gear TRW in Lafayette.

He was an Army veteran of World War II. He served in the Army's 183rd Field Artillery Battalion. He served in five major battles and received five bronze stars.

He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 492 in West Lafayette and the Carroll County VFW Post No. 9383 in Delphi.

Surviving with his wife are two sons: Harry Jr. of Huntington and Sgt. Kenneth P. of Savannah, GA; three daughters: Mrs. Roger (Brenda) Wood, Bowling Green, KY, Mrs. Jerry (Sherry) Linback Willits, Lafayette, Mrs. Stephen (Cindy) Landry, Sugarland, TX; a step-daughter, Peggy Linback, Huntington; two brothers: Walter of Monon and Melvin of Lafayette; five sisters, Mrs. Mae Shidler, Winamac, Mrs. Robert (Alma) Ewing, Francesville, Mrs. James B. (Alice) Shreives, Union Mills, Clara Linback, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Eugene (Jean) Roeschlein, Lawrence; and 15 grandchildren.

Two sisters and 3 brothers are deceased.

Services were Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston with Bill Romans officiating.

Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston with military rites.

Memorials can be made to Potter Children's Home in Bowling Green, KY.

Richard "Dick" Linback

June 20, 1941 - November 12, 1999
Richard "Dick" Linback, 58, of Buffalo, died Friday, Nov. 12, at White County Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 20, 1941, to Ivan W. and Viola Garling Linback in Francesville.

He graduated in 1959 from Francesville High School. He moved in 1962 to Buffalo.

He was self-employed at the Linback Construction Co. and was a member of the St. James Salem Church in Francesville.

He also was a member of the Monticello, Moose Lodge, AmVets and American Legion.

He is survived by a son, Brian DuVall of Buffalo; companion, Rosie Huffer; a brother, Don Linback of Francesville; sisters, Janet Kruger, Francesville, Carol Meeks of West Terre Haute and Ruth Miller of Rensselaer and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Tuesday at Kellogg Funeral Home with the Rev. Sharon K. Maddox officiating.

Burial was in St James Salem Cemetery, Francesville.

Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
