Viola R. Linback

May 14, 1916 - August 29, 1999
Viola R. Linback, 83, Francesville, died Sunday, August 29, at her residence.

She was born May 14, 1916, to John and Amelia Hintzman Garling in Reynolds.

She had lived in Francesville for 83 years and was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. James Salem United Church of Christ.

Surviving are two sons, Don Linback of Francesville and Richard Linback of Buffalo; three daughters, Jan Kruger, Francesville, Carol Meeks, West Terre Haute and Ruth Miller, Rensselaer; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

A brother and sister are deceased.

Funeral service was held at Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home. Francesville, Tuesday with the Rev. Sharon K. Maddox officiating.

Burial was in St. James Salem Cemetery, Francesville.

Infant Kylie E. Lingenfelter

March 7, 2000 - March 7, 2000
Infant Kylie Eileen Lingenfelter, Monticello, was stillborn Tuesday, March 7, at Lafayette Home Hospital.

Kylie's mother, Jennifer, is a 5th grade teacher at Monon Elementary School and her father, Jason, is an Indiana State Trooper. They have both lived in the area all their lives.

She is survived by her parents, Jason A. and Jennifer A. Lingenfelter of Monticello; grandparents, Jim and Lu Lingenfelter, Monticello and Wynemac and Becky Woodcock of Buffalo; and great grandparents, Anah Lingenfelter of Monticello and Harold and Pat McCoskey of Indianapolis.

Funeral services were Saturday at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home, Monticello, with Frank Hicks officiating.

Burial was in Buffalo Cemetery.

James T. Litke

June 20, 1937 - November 4, 2000
James T. Litke, 63, Monticello, died Saturday, Nov. 4, at Jasper County Hospital, Rensselaer. He was born June 20, 1937, in LaGrange, to Theodore and Iva Rogers Litke. He was married Nov. 18, 1962, to Rosemary Gorman at the Burnettsville Christian Church. She survives.

He lived for 38 years in Monticello, coming from Pulaski County. He graduated in 1955 from Pulaski High School and attended one year at Indiana State University.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He owned Jim's Plumbing and Heating for the past 20 years.

He was a member of Rural Youth, 4-H and played Santa Claus. He also was a blood donor and had donated 13 gallons.

He was a member and elder of the Burnettsville Christian Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher. He had been baptized at Tippecanoe Christian Church.

He loved the outdoors, including fishing and gardening. He also caned chairs and played basketball in the Memory Lane games.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Cynthia (Tim) McQuinn, Angela Litke and Rosetta (Scott) Rider, all of Monticello; and brothers, Fred Litke, Francesville and Phil Litke, Winamac. An infant brother is deceased.

Funeral service will be today at 10:30 a.m. in the Burnettsville Christian Church with the Rev. John Wright officiating. Miller-Roscka Funeral Home, Monticello, was in charge.

Burial will be in Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville with military rites performed by the Monticello American Legion.

Memorials may be given to the Burnettsville Christian Church or the Gideons. He loved his Lord dearly.

Frances Ruth Allie Logan

November 3, 1921 - March 23, 1999
Frances Ruth "Fran" Allie Logan, 77, of Brookston, died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at Regency Place in Lafayette.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1921, in Burnettsville to Bascom and Lillian Houk Allie. She married George Dean Logan on Sept. 6, 1941, in Eaton. He preceded her in death.

She worked in several factories and owned a variety store in Brookston for several years.

She also helped her husband manage the Standard service station until his retirement.

She was a member of the Brookston Federated Church, the Federated Women's Christian Fellowship and Social Committee, and the OES Crystal Chapter.

She is survived by. her sons, Gary of Griffith, Warren and Ronald, both of Lafayette, and Alan of Brookston; a brother, Raymond Allie of Rennselaer; four sisters, Helen Critser of Rensselaer, Edith Dellinger of Monticello, Irene Oberlander of Wolcott and Rosemary Young of Brookston; a nephew; 10 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by two sisters and one great-grandson.

Funeral services were Friday, March 26, 1999 at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston, with the Rev. Lelan McReynolds officiating

Burial was at the Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum in West Lafayette.

Memorials may be made to the Brookston Federated Church or the American Cancer Society.

George D. Logan

May 21, 1922 - November 9, 1991
George Dean Logan, 69, Brookston, died Saturday, Nov. 9, in his home. He had been in failing health for four months.

He was born May 21, 1922, to Everett and Ruth Schuman Logan, in White County, and they survive. He was married Sept. 6,1941, to Fran Allie, in Eaton, and she survives.

He graduated from Wolcott High School in 1940, and moved from Wolcott to Brookston in 1959.

He owned and operated Logan's Standard Station for 26 years, in Brookston.

He was a member of the Brookston Federated Church and was a past master of Masonic Lodge Libanus No. 154 in Monticello. He had received his 25-year pin from the Masons. He was a worthy patron of Monticello Crystal Chapter No. 165 of the Eastern Star and a member of Merrou Grotto in West Lafayette.

Other survivors include four sons, Gary of Griffith, Warren and Ronald of Lafayette and Alan of R.2, Brookston; three brothers, Everett, Monticello; Robert, Lafayette and Jim, Brookston; and 10 grandchildren.

The funeral was Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, the Rev. Dr. Ralph G. Smith officiating.

Entombment was at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Lafayette.

Memorials may be made to the Brookston Federated Church or to the Community Van Committee.

Mary Finch Logan

September 18, 1919 - December 2, 1991
Mary Finch Logan, 72, R.2, Brookston, died Monday, Dec. 2, in Home Hospital, Lafayette. She had been a patient there since Nov. 20.

She was born Sept. 18, 1919, to Birch Robert and Ina Agnes Bone Finch, in Howard County. She was married Aug. 25, 1940, to O. Orville Logan, in Winamac, and he su vives.

She graduated in 1937, from Clay Township High School in Miami County.

After moving from Parke County, she had lived in the Brookston community since 1958.

She was a homemaker, and a member of Brookston United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and Prairiette Extension Homemakers Club.

Other survivors include two sons, David 0. of Lafayette and Roger L. of Monticello; a daughter, Karen S. of Lafayette; four brothers, Lloyd Finch, Marion; Robert Finch, Kokomo; Dane Finch, Tipton and Ivan Finch, Kentland; two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Luella) Sprehe, Paxton, Ill, and Mrs. Rex (Joan) Hardesty, Kokomo; and two grandchildren. Two brothers and a son, Robert L. preceded her in death.

The. funeral was Wednesday at Brookston United Methodist Church, with Rev. Gene Ansell and Rev. Donald Ashley officiating.

Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, was in charge of the service.

Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.

Roger Lee Logan

October 24, 1944 - January 7, 1994
Roger Lee Logan, 49, 302 N. Beach Drive, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 7. He was found dead in his home Sunday morning.

He was born October 24, 1944 to 0. Orville and Mary Eva Finch Logan. His father survives.

He formerly lived in Brookston with his parents before moving to Monticello in 1972. He never married.

He was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church.

Surviving with his father is a stepmother, Leona Logan, both of Brookston; one brother, David Orville Logan of Lafayette; and one sister, Karen Sue Logan of Lafayette.

His mother and a brother are deceased.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Harztler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Rev. Donald W. Ashley officiating.

Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.

Deborah C. Loughry

December 9, 1952 - March 9, 1999
Deborah C. Loughry, 46 of West Lafayette, formerly of Chalmers, died Tuesday, March 9, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She had been hospitalized for three weeks and was ill for one year.

She was born Dec. 9, 1952, to Charles Sr. and Vera D. Swank Oliver, in Crawfordsville. She was married June 19. 1976, to Marshall H. Loughry in Fowler. He died April 16, 1990.

She was a graduate of Frontier High School.

She lived in Chalmers before moving to West Lafayette, 20 years ago.

She worked at McCutcheon Hall at Purdue, and retired due to ill health, in 1979.

She attended First Assembly of God Church in Lafayette.

She was a member of Women of the Moose in Lafayette, TOPS and Smiles Unlimited.

She is survived by a son, David P. of West Lafayette, her mother of West Lafayette: two brothers. Charles Oliver Jr. of West Lafayette and Mike Oliver of Frankfort; and a sister, Cheryl Oliver of West Lafayette. Three brothers are deceased.

Funeral services were Saturday in Hippensteel Chapel, Lafayette, with the Rev. Greg Hackett officiating.

Interment was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
