Lillie M. McFatridge

January 1, 1909 - December 4, 2000
Lillie Maude McFatridge, 91, of Francesville, formerly of Winamac and Monon, died Monday. December 4, 2000 at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville.

She was born January 1, 1909, in Buffalo, to Thomas and Martha Graves Newbold. She married William C. McFatridge on October 8, 1930, in Monticello. He died on January 16, 1947.

She lived in Winamac since 1930 after moving from Monon.

She was a retired group chief operator for United Telephone Co., where she worked for 25 years.

She was a past president of American Legion Post 71 Auxiliary, past worthy matron of OES Chapter 96, member and past deacon of First Presbyterian Church and a member of the church's Calendar Year organization.

Surviving are a nephew, Glen Edward Newbold of Monon; and two nieces, Martha Ann Coffman of Bradenton, FL and Julie Buman of Lafayette.

A stepdaughter, Phyllis Amber, and two brothers. Glen Newbold and Emory Newbold arc deceased.

Funeral services were Friday at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Burial was at Winamac Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Dona Lee McGlothlin

July 30, 1938 - July 12, 1988
Dona Lee McGlothlin, 49, Brookston, died at 5:55 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, in Home Hospital, Lafayette, where she had been a patient since July 8. She had been in failing health for one year.

She was born July 30, 1938 to William Dale and Bertha Blewett Rogers, in Bloomington. She was married on May 31, 1968 to Roy E. McGlothlin, in Lafayette. He survives.

She graduated from Ligonier High School in 1968 and lived in Brookston since 1970. She had been employed at Agri Pro Research Center in Brookston, since 1975.

She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Lafayette.

Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Chris (Lori) Coverdale and Jan McGlothlin, both of Brookston; one son, Rick, stationed in South Korea with the United States Air Force; her mother, Bertha Fausset and her stepfather, Charles Fausset, both of Brookston; and three brothers, Richard D. Rogers, Rocky Mount, N.C.; Rex Fausset, Monticello and Barry Fausset, Kentland.

The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home at Brookston, with Pastor Charles Hackett officiating. Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Roy E. McGlothlin

May 14, 1936 - January 13, 1995
Roy E. McGlothlin, 58, died Friday, Jan. 13, in his Brookston home.

He was born May 14, 1936 in Lafayette. He married Donna Lee Rogers on May 31, 1958. She died July 12, 1988.

He graduated from Jefferson High School in Lafayette in 1954. He moved to Brookston from Lafayette in 1970.

He formerly worked for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 668 in Lafayette. He retired in 1986 due to a health disability

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 1154 in Lafayette.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Chris (Lori) Coverdale of Brookston and Mrs. Rich (Jan) Voigt of DeMotte; a son, Rick McGlothlin of Japan; his father, Roy McGlothlin of Lafayette; and four grandchildren.

His mother is deceased.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, the Rev. Lore Blinn Gibson officiated.

Interment was in Brookston IOOF Cemetery with military rites.

Lewis H. McKay

April 11, 1908 - October 20, 1988
Lewis H. McKay, 80, a retired farmer, was found dead in his home at 9333N. County Road 100 W., West Lafayette, Thursday, Oct. 20.

Born April 11, 1908, in Tippecanoe County, he graduated from Buck Creek High School in 1928. He was married in 1933 to Emma Beiber. She died Dec. 18, 1980.

Mr. McKay was a member of the former Colburn Lutheran Church and a member of Tippecanoe County Farm Bureau.

Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Ann Miller of Mesa, Arizona. Also several nieces and nephews. Six brothers, and 2 sisters preceded in death.

Service was Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Clayton Kendall officiating at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston.

Interment was in Spring Vale Cemetery, Lafayette.

Elmer Roscoe McKnight

April 4, 1907 - June 11, 1988
Elmer Roscoe McKnight, 81, 819 Wood St., Brookston, died Saturday, June 11, at 8 am. in Home Hospital, Lafayette, where he had been a patient for nine weeks.

He was born April 4, 1907, in Salem to John and Zella Farabee McKnight. He was married on Feb 25, 1928, in Salem to Vernie Avice Sullivan, who survives.

He moved from Salem to Brookston area in 1943. He was a retired carpenter and formerly worked at Indiana Soldier's Home and the Alcoa Plant in Lafayette. He was a former Brookston town marshal and a member of Brookston Church of Christ.

Also surviving, are a son, Herbert C., Delphi; a daughter, Mrs. Donald L. (Clarice) Yerk, R.1, Chalmers; three sisters: Mrs. Alberta Taylor Bennett, Otterbein; Mrs. C. Elmo (Helen) Souder of Scottsburg and Mrs. Frank (Edna) Dismore, West Lafayette; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One brother is deceased.

Services were conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Hartzler Funeral. Home, Brookston, with Bill Romans and Bill Miller officiating. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.

Vernie A. McKnight

March 9, 1910 - April 1, 1991
Vernie A. Sullivan McKnight, 81, 819 Wood St., Brookston, was pronounced dead on arrival Monday, April 1, at 8:57 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette.

She was born March 9,1910, to Clarence and Catherine Newlon Sullivan, in Washington County. She was married Feb. 25, 1928, to Elmer R. McKnight, in Salem. He died June 11, 1988.

She moved to Brookston from Salem in 1943. She was employed at the former Brookston Furniture factory. She also had been employed at the Travel Lodge Motel, West Lafayette.

She was a member of the Brookston Church of Christ

Surviving are one son, Herbert, Delphi; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Clarice) Yerk, R.1, Chalmers; one sister, Mrs. Hester Winslow, Salem; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Seven brothers and four sisters are deceased.

The funeral was today at 1 p.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Bill Romans officiating.

Burial was in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Brookston Church of Christ and American Heart Association.

Charles H. McLain

January 27, 1915 - October 5, 2000
Charles H. McLain, 85, of Monon, died Thursday, October 5, 2000 at Twin Lakes Village, Monticello. He had been ill for a year and a half.

He was born January 27, 1915 in White County, the son of Walter Wade and Lola L. Rogers-Street McLain. He married Myrtle Mae Snavley on March 18, 1938 in White County. She survives.

He lived in White County all of his life.

He farmed with his father for 16 years. He retired from Talbert Trailer Manufacturing in Rensselaer at age 65.

He was a member of the Monon Eagles Lodge. He also served as a Monon volunteer firefighter for 13 years. He was a member of the Monon United Methodist Church.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Charles W. (Faye) McLain of Kenly, N.C. and John A. (June) McLain of Monon, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. One son and a brother are deceased.

Graveside funeral services were conducted at the Buffalo Cemetery with Rev. Mark A. Pittman officiating.

Memorials may be made to Monon EMTs and firefighters.

Beryl J. McMillin

April 14, 1927 - April 5, 2003
Beryl J. Renick Nice McMillin, 75, of Lafayette, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at her grandson's home in Brookston.

She was born in Tippecanoe County on April 14, 1927 to Haskell and Esther Alberta Clemment Renick. She married Gordon V. Nice on October 29, 1945 in Lafayette. He died on December 7, 1986.

She then married Joe McMillin on May 12, 1994 in Lafayette. He survives.

She was a graduate of Battle Ground High School.

She was a homemaker.

She attended Congress Street United Methodist Church in Lafayette.

Survivors include stepdaughters Kay Littleton of Delphi and Kathy (Harry) Emmons of Lafayette; stepsons Kevin (Carmen) McMillin of Lafayette and Keith (Susan) McMillin of Penbroke Pines, Fla.; grandson Troy Nice (companion Carla Colson) of Brookston and granddaughter Stacy Nice of Marion, In.; eight step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; Trent and Trevor Nice of Lafayette and Tosha Nice of Indianapolis; seven great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Two sons, Gary Lee Nice and Alan Wayne Nice, a brother, Wilbert Renick and a sister, Marjorie Sales, are deceased.

Funeral services were Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston with Rev. Larry Dimick officiating. Burial was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Maureen L. McMullen

[1955?] - February 26, 2002
Maureen L. (Harper) McMullen, 47, of Carmel, Ind., the wife of a former Monon resident died February 26, 2002.

She was a teacher at Woodbrook Elementary School for 17 years.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas McMullen of Carmel, children Jackie Gist and Sean McMullen; and father-in-law and mother-in-law Marion and Dorothy McMullen of Monticello.

Services were in Carmel. Burial was in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Maureen McMullen Memorial Fund, in care of Woodbrook Elementary School, Carmel, IN.
