Bill D. Price
March 7, 1927 - October 28, 2001
Bill D. Price, 74, of W. Lafayette, died Sunday, October 28, 2001 at Heritage Healthcare Center in West Lafayette. He had been in failing health since July.
He was born March 7, 1927 in Clinton County the son of Fred and Maude Downey Price.
He attended Clinton County schools and lived in Otterbein and Brookston before moving to West Lafayette.
A retired farmer, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was affiliated with the Battle Ground Bible Church and was a member of the Chalmers American Legion Post 268.
His first marriage was to Josephine (Jo) Lewis and she died in 1982. His second marriage was to Wilma Nunnally on February 25, 1983. She survives along with a son, Gary Price of Naples, Fla.; two stepsons Gary Nunnally of New Waverly, Ind., and Jeff (Vickie) Nunnally of Brookston and two Step daughters, Pat Antrop, Melbourne, Fla., and Gail (Doug) Jackson of Lafayette.
One brother Sam (Barbara) Price also survives along with several brother and sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews.
He had 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
His parents Fred and Maude Downey Price, son Jeff Price and brothers Ben and Max Price, preceded him in death.
He enjoyed fishing and golf.
Friends may call at the Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral Services will be held at Hartzler Funeral Home at 10 a.m. on Thursday with Pastor Chester Martin officiating.
Burial with full military rites by the Chalmers American Legion Post 268 will be held at Tippecanoe Memoy Gardens in West Lafayette.
Memorials may be made to Heritage Healthcare Activities Fund or American Diabetes. Association.
Charles R. Price
October 12, 1950 - February 19, 2002
Charles R. "Chuck" Price, 51, of the Rockfield area, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 10:55 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. He was hospitalized since Feb. 6 and had been in fai1ing health for seven years.
He was born Oct. 12, 1950, to Marvin E. Sr. and Juanita Gano Price in Lafayette. He was married Dec. 18, 1971, to Rebecca Williams in Fowler. She survives.
He had earned his GED.
He served in the U.S. Army from March 12, 1970-Nov. 15, 1971, as a Sp/4 in the 1st U.S. Army, Co. C, 15th Bn.
He was a construction worker. He was formerly employed at Purdue as a carpenter and worked for Steve Rider Construction and A&K Construction.
He was a member of Moose Lodge 1529 of Lafayette and life-member of Carpenters Union 215.
He enjoyed fishing, bingo, horseback riding and hunting.
Other survivors include daughters, Crystal and Candace Price, at home; brothers Jack Price, Arkansas and Max (Linda) Price of Romney; and sisters Connie Kennedy, Lafayette and Carol Martin, Rossville.
Brothers, Butch, Jim, Melvin and Jerry are deceased.
Services were Friday at 10 a.m. in the First Assembly of God, Delphi, with Pastor Brent Oliver and Pastor Tim Stewart officiating.
Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brookston.
Memorials may be given to the Dialysis Center for Greater Lafayette, 1020 N. 18th St., Lafayette. IN. 47904.
Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, was in charge of arrangements.
Fred Price
March 29, 1897 - August 15, 1991
Fred Price, 94, formerly of Brookston, died Thursday, Aug. 15, at 2:15 p.m. in Indiana Veterans Home, West Lafayette. He had been a resident there for the last eight years.
He was born March 29, 1897, to Samuel and Amy Roth Price, in Frankfort. He was married June 12, 1918, to Maude Downey, in Cutler. She died in 1973.
He lived in Brookston for 25 years after moving from Frankfort and was raised in the Moran area.
He was a veteran of World War I and a Mexican border skirmish. He was a retired farmer and grain elevator operator.
He formerly attended the Moran United Methodist Church and was a member of Frankfort American Legion Post No. 12.
Survivors include three sons; Max, Danville, Ill., Bill, Brookston and Sam, Monticello; several grandchildren and several great- grandchildren. A son, brother and two sisters are deceased.
The funeral was Monday at 10 a.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Loren Shuman officiating.
Graveside rites were conducted by the Frankfort American Legion at Kilmore Cemetery
in Clinton County.
Jerry Lee Price
July 25, 1943 - January 10, 2002
Jerry L. Price, 58, of Peru, a former Brookston and Lafayette resident, died Thursday, January 10, 2002 in Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been ill for two years and hospitalized for a week.
He was horn in Lafayette on July 25, 1943, to Marvin E. Sr., and Juanita F. Gano Price. He was previously married to Carol Burkhardt. She died in April 2001.
He received his GED. He served in the U.S. Marines from Aug. 11, 1960 to Aug. 10, 1964 with the rank of L/Cpl. (E-3). He was cook at the Red Barn in Attica. He was on disability from Caterpillar, Inc where he served as a floor technician. He was a life member of VFW Post 1154, Lafayette and the VFW at Evansville.
Survivors include daughters, Beth, Jerry Lynn, and Kelly; sons Jerry, Jr., and Robert; brothers Jack Price in Missouri, Max Price of Romney and Clark Price of Delphi; sisters, Connie Kennedy of Lafayette and Carol Martin of Rossville; and 17 grandchildren.
Three brothers, Butch, Jim and Peanut are deceased.
Services were Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home with Rev. Dexter Brooks officiating. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Robert J. Price
September 14, 1950 - March 26, 1998
Robert J. "Bob" Price, Reynolds, died unexpectedly at 2:53 a.m., Thursday, March 26, 1998, in White Co. Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 14, 1950, to Ralph A and Elsa Rohwedder Price, in White County.
He was a 1968 graduate of North White High School and a graduate of Purdue.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a lifetime resident of the community.
He was self-employed.
He is survived by his father, who resides in Brookston.
Funeral services were Saturday at the Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, with the Rev. Stephen Koenig officiating.
Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery, Attica.
Miriam E. Princell
November 23, 1921 - June 14, 2001
Miriam E. Princell, 79, of Greenfield, the mother of a Monon resident, died Thursday, June 14, 2001 in Greenfield.
She was born in Indianapolis on November 23, 1921, to Raymond and lnez Newman Summers.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Robert E. Princell of Monon, James V. Princell of Saugus, Calif., and Charles M. Princell of Hickory, N.C..; a daughter Miriam Stellhorn of Greenfield, a brother Robert Summers of Ft. Myers, Florida, nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Pasco Memorial Mortuary in Greenfield was charge of the funeral.
Marietta Elizabeth Pruett
May 7, 1917 - June 20, 1994
Marietta Elizabeth Krieghbaum Walter Pruett, 77. died Monday in the George Davis Manor, West Lafayette, where she had been a resident since April 1993. She had been in failing health for several years.
She was born May 7, 1917 in South Bend to Charles Polk and Mattie Walters Krieghbaum. Her first marriage in 1937 was to George Walter, who was killed in February 1944 while flying a mission over the English Channel during World War II. Her second marriage was to Dr. Paul H. Pruett on June 14, 1945, a Brookston dentist from 1955 until 1979. He died on October 21, 1990.
She was a 1935 graduate of Rochester High School and attended Indiana University and Purdue University.
She was a homemaker and former resident of Monticello, Lafayette, and Brookville, FL. She enjoyed golf, bowling and bridge.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Lynda) Klepinger of Brookston, a son, Krieg Pruett of Elkhart; three grandchildren, Joni Jones of Cocoa. FL, Jackie Olds of Provo, UT, and James Klepinger of Indianapolis; and a great- grandson, Samuel Olds.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, the Rev. Dale Hamilton and the Rev. Lelan McReynolds officiating.
Inurnment will be at Brook, IN.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association.
Randall Scott Puckett
July 26, 1968 - August 14, 1999
Randall Scott Puckett, 31, Frankfort, father of local resident, died Saturday, Aug. 14, at his home in Frankfort.
He was born July 26, 1968, to Allen and Scheryl Pauley Puckett, in Norfolk, Va. He was married Nov. 30, 1994, to Heather Coplen, in Kentland, and she survives.
He graduated from North White High School in 1987. He worked at Das Industries in Lafayette.
He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Frankfort.
He moved from Goodland to Frankfort, one year ago. He was a former Monon resident.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Mallory Puckett of Monticello and Angelica Puckett of Frankfort; father, Allen Puckett Sr. of Norfolk; sisters, Robin Pauley, Indianapolis; Marlena Doyle, Monon; Shannon Doyle, Ft. Campbell, Ky and Charlene "Charlie" Atkinson of Tennessee; brothers, Jeny Puckett, Monon and Tim and Chris Atkinson of Tennessee.
There was a direct cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
