GRASS VALLEY, Calif. - Margarette Craner, 71, of Grass Valley, Calif., and formerly of Sullivan County, passed away Nov. 30, 2000 at her residence. Born April 6, 1929 in Paxton, she was the daughter of Paul and Blanche (Shepler) Neal. She was a member of the Eastern Star, and American Legion and VFW auxillaries of Grass Valley, Calif. Survivors include, her husband, Leonard (Lee) Craner of Grass Valley, Calif.; one son, Bruce Knoblock of Grass Valley, Calif; one daughter, Brenda Moberly of Calif.; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Burial will be in Dugger Cemetery on Saturday. Newkirk Funeral Home of Dugger is in charge of local arrangements.

Anna L. Cahall
SOUTH BEND - Anna L. Cahall, 80, of South Bend, passed away at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001 at her residence. Born June 26, 1920 in Jasonville, she was the daughter of Edgar and Iva (Dean) Neal. She retired as a receptionist from Memorial Hospital of South Bend following 25 years of service. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in South Bend, and was raised in Jasonville. Survivors include, her husband, Warren J. Cahall of South Bend; one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Robin Cahall of South Bend; three grandsons, Gabriel Cahall, Scott Cahall, and Seth Cahall; and one sister, Betty Shouse of Vincennes. Funeral services will be at Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, Ind. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 724 North Main St. , Mishawaka, Ind., 46545.

Charlotte Ruth Roby
WORTHINGTON - Charlotte Ruth Roby, 80, of Worthington, passed away at 11:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001 at Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford. Born Nov. 18, 1920 in Clay County, she was the daughter of Ferd and Mae (Mast) Miller. She retired from the city and county of Sarasota, Fla., and formerly worked at Link Belt in Indianapolis. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Worthington, and the Worthington Breakfast Club. Survivors include, one brother, Chester Miller of Ft. Myers, Fla; one sister, Emma Greenwood of Spencer; four nieces, Ruth French of Worthington, Susie Ellington of Linton, Georgianna Sims of Ellettsville, and Cheryl Foster of Spencer; one nephew, Mike Miller of Bedford; several other nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ray, Russell and Earl "Arkie" Miller; one sister, Mary Bailey; and three infant sisters. Funeral services will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 1 p.m. on Monday with the Rev. Eddie Egbert and Sherman Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, and 9 a.m. on Monday until the time of service.

Helen Mae Coen
Helen Mae Coen, 89, of Linton, passed away at 12:40 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at Glenburn Home in Linton. Memorial Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Welch & Cornett Linton Chapel, with the Rev. David Tyra officiating. A private burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service Saturday.

M. Jeanette Bozell
M. Jeanette Bozell, 84, of Terre Haute died at 7:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, in Union Hospital. She was born Oct. 28, 1914, in Kokomo to Charles Murray Ricketts and Eva Ann Jones Ricketts. Her husband, Russell L. Bozell, preceded her in death in 1998. Survivors include one son, Tom Bozell; one daughter, Brenda Henderson; one brother; one sister; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services are 10 a.m. Monday in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sue Cartee officiating. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery in Tipton, at 3:30 p.m. Visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Ruth Doris Branson
Ruth Doris Branson, 79, of Terre Haute died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, in her residence. She was born June 7, 1920, in Burnett to Pearl King and Nettie Allen King. Her husband, Fred R. Branson, died earlier. Survivors include four sons, Billie Lee Mills and Ted Branson, both of Terre Haute and Mike Branson and Rick Branson, both of Evansville; four daughters, Linda Smith, Vikki Bragg, Penni Lawson and Patti Branson, all of Terre Haute; one sister, Maxine Van Vactor of Terre Haute; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Leo King. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star 12 Points Chapter, White Shrine and Sugar Creek Baptist Church. Services are 1 p.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home, with Pastor Perry Fowler officiating, and OES memorial services. Burial is in Burnett Cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m. until services Monday.

Gilbert A. Bunch Sr.
Gilbert A. Bunch Sr., 79, of Terre Haute died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, in his residence. He was born Oct. 25, 1919, in Campbellsville, Ky., to Jasper Bunch and Eliza Helm Bunch. Survivors include his wife, Betty Lowe Bunch; three daughters, Martha Cook, Nancy Nicoson and Debbie Braun; one son, Gilbert A. Bunch Jr.; one brother, Hoye Bunch; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Services are 1 p.m. Sunday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Spear officiating. Burial is in Durham Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. until services Sunday.

Henry H. Dannenberg
Henry H. Dannenberg, 57, of Terre Haute died at 5:40 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, in Union Hospital. He was a retired school teacher from the Vigo County School Corp, having taught art at Woodrow Wilson and also at Martinsville, Ill., and Attica. He was born Sept. 27, 1941, in Terre Haute to Carl Dannenberg and Mae Duckworth Dannenberg. Survivors include his mother of Terre Haute; one sister, Sue Tucker and her husband, Dan Tucker of Terre Haute; four nephews, Kirk Tucker of Charleston, Ill., Anthony Tucker of Fort Collins, Colo., Chris Tucker of Jasper and Ben Tucker of California; two nieces, Stephanie Cline and Jennifer Schalburg, both of Terre Haute; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. He was a graduate of the former Wiley High School and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana State University. Cremation is scheduled. There are no services. DeBaun Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

Woodrow ‘Hickory’ Harden
Woodrow “Hickory” Harden, 82, of Terre Haute died at 8:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, in Union Hospital. He was born April 15, 1917, in Vigo County to Andrew Harden and Estella Bridwell Harden. His first wife, Helen Harden, died in 1967. Survivors include his wife, June Webster Harden; four daughters, April J. Harden, Bonnie C. Walker, Andrea L. Raubuck and Alice F. Travioli; two sons, David E. Harden and Woodrow K. Harden; two sisters, Iona Austin and Pheobe Wall; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services are 1 p.m. Monday in Mattox-Ryan South Seventh Street Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Stultz officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Margaret May
Margaret May, 70, of Terre Haute died Wednesday night, Sept. 8, 1999, in Union Hospital. She was a retired kitchen helper at Indiana State University. She was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Terre Haute to Forest O. Schell and Vada Acree Schell. Survivors include one daughter, Alice Ann Sheets of Ohio; one sister, Anita Belmar and her husband, Donald Belmar of Decatur, Ill.; two brothers, Charles Schell and Paul Richard Schell, both of Terre Haute; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and four sisters. She was a member of the Whitcomb Heights Church in West Terre Haute. Services are 2 p.m. today in The Callahan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenny Coffman officiating. Burial is in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m. until services.

Mary Ann Luckett McQuillan
Mary Ann Luckett McQuillan, 77, of Terre Haute died at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, in her residence. She was an English teacher and was former chairman of English curriculum for the Vigo County School Corp. She was born June 21, 1922, in Terre Haute to Dr. Coen Luckett and Margaret Burns Luckett. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Judge Hugh D. McQuillan; one daughter, Meg McQuillan Lind of Martinsville, Ind.; three grandchildren, Margo McQuillan Lind and Kevin McQuillan Lind, both of Martinsville and Jodi Cutler Foley of Hadley, Mass.; and one great-grandchild, Ben Foley of Hadley. She was preceded in death by one son, Hugh D. McQuillan Jr. She was a granddaughter of the late Dr. L.P. Luckett, a founder of Union Hospital. She was a 1939 graduate of Wiley High School, a 1943 graduate of Smith College in Amherst, Mass., and earned her master’s degree in 1953 from Indiana State University. She was a World War II veteran, having served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a pilot and pioneer in the Women’s Aviation “99’ers” headed by Jacquelyn Cochrane. She taught English and composition for 25 years at Deming Elementary School, Woodrow Wilson Junior High School, Gerstmeyer High School and Honey Creek Junior High School. She was active in the Swope Art Gallery Guild, Community Theatre, Republican Women, Country Club of Terre Haute, First Congregational Church, was a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout den mother, was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Union Hospital Guild, Quail Creek Country Club of Naples, Fla., Naples Yacht Club, Naples Conservancy and Naples Philharmonic. She was a champion equestrian and a member of the equestrian team at Smith College as well as Junior Champion English Saddlebred Class for Indiana and Illinois. She was an active golfer, tennis player, sailor, traveler and bridge player. Memorial services are 4 p.m. Tuesday in First Congregational Church, 630 Ohio St., with the Revs. Donald C. Mullen and Loyal Bishop officiating. Friends are invited to attend a celebration and gathering immediately following services, at the Country Club of Terre Haute. Cremation, with private burial to follow, is scheduled under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th St. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley, 600 S. First St., Terre Haute, IN 47807.

Margaret Elizabeth Drew Meredith
Margaret Elizabeth Drew Meredith, 90, of Crossett, Ark., and formerly of Terre Haute died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, in Ashley County (Ark.) Medical Center. She was born Sept. 23, 1908, in Terre Haute to Merle Drew and Maude Walz Drew. Her husband, Richard Paul Meredith, died earlier. Survivors include two sons, Richard Drew Meredith of Council Bluff, Iowa and Dr. Paul Drew Meredith of Texarkana, Ark.; one daughter, Ann Hilgeman of Monticello, Ark.; one brother, Merle C. Drew, DDS, of Terre Haute; five grandchildren, John Drew Meredith, David Paul Meredith, Jeffery Meredith, Andrew Meredith and Richard Hilgeman. She was a member of the Willie Spivey Sunday School Class, the Crossett Book Club and the First United Methodist Church. Graveside services are 2 p.m. today in Pinewood Memorial Park, in Crossett, with the Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Jones Funeral Home in Crossett assisted with arrangements. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Crossett, PO Box 738, Crossett, AR 71635.

Dr. John S. Murray Jr.
Dr. John S. Murray Jr., 70, of Terre Haute died at 3 a.m., Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born Aug. 21, 1929, in Washington, Ind., to John S. Murray Sr., and Josephine Kelly Murray. Survivors include three sons, John S. Murray III, James Murray and Carl R. Murray; one brother, Bill Murray; two sisters, Virginia Pate and Carol Mullin; and several nieces and nephews. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2200 Wabash Ave., with the Rev. Linda Peters officiating. DeBaun Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

William Thomas Powell
William Thomas Powell, 59, of Stroud, Okla., and formerly of Terre Haute died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, in Tulsa, Okla. He was born June 23, 1940, in Terre Haute to Albert Powell and Louise Lakey Powell. Survivors include his wife, Carol Hayne Powell; three sons, Bradley Powell, Jeffrey Powell and Billy Powell; one daughter, Candace Crittenden; one brother, Paul Powell; two sisters, Anna Girton and Juanita Drake; eight grandchildren; and other relatives. Services were Sept. 7, 1999, in Parks Brothers Chapel in Stroud. Burial was in Stroud Cemetery.

Ruth M. Fetters
MARSHALL, Ill. — Ruth M. Fetters, 86, of Fort Myers, Fla., and formerly of Marshall, died at 5:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, in Cypress Manor in Fort Myers. She was a retired teacher having taught in Clark County for 35 years prior to her retirement. She was born Aug. 30, 1913, in West Union to Samuel Sheets and Amanda Shotwell Sheets. Her husband, Joseph W. Fetters, whom she married Dec. 4, 1945, in St. Mary’s Church in Marshall, died April 18, 1976. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and William R. Mozley of Rockville, Ind., and Mary Kay and Marion Goble of Fort Myers; one brother, John Sheets of West Union; two sisters, Edna Hittle of Indianapolis and Wilma Jackson of Springfield; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one brother. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshall and a member of the choir and altar society of the church. She was a member and past president of the auxiliaries of both the American Legion Clark County Post 90 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5975. She was a member of the Forever Young Chorus, the Clark County Retired Teachers Association and the Burnsides Guild. She was a graduate of both Eastern Illinois Teachers College and Indiana State University. She was a member and past president of the Clark County Indiana State University Alumni Association. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jeff Grant officiating. Burial is in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday and 7 to 9:45 a.m. Monday in Pearce Funeral Home. An American Legion and VFW Auxiliary service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with a liturgical wake service immediately following.

Millard M. ‘Mike’ Mikeworth
OBLONG, Ill. — Millard M. “Mike” Mikeworth, 84, of Oblong died at 10:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, in Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind. He was born Aug. 24, 1915, in Crawford County to Joseph Leroy “Roy” Mikeworth and Dora Skaggs Mikeworth. Survivors include his wife, Norma Thornton Mikeworth; two sons, Bill Mikeworth and Jack Mikeworth; one brother, Russell Mikeworth; one sister, Hazel Osborne; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services are 10 a.m. Monday in Pulliam Funeral Home, with brothers Harry Randolph and David Huey officiating. Burial is in Oblong Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and before services Monday.

Helen J. Bungard
Helen J. Bungard, 98, of Terre Haute died at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, in Royal Oaks Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 31, 1901, in Brazil to George Bungard and Cora Givens Bungard. Private graveside services will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. There is no visitation. Mattox-Wood Funeral Home North Terre Haute Chapel assisted with arrangements.

Donald W. Goodwin
Donald W. Goodwin, 76, of Terre Haute died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was a retired manager for A&P. He was born Nov. 15, 1922, in Terre Haute to Otto Goodwin and May Norris Goodwin. Survivors include his wife, Madonna Goodwin; three sons, Don Goodwin, David Goodwin and Steve Goodwin, all of Terre Haute; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, and a member of AARP, Terre Haute Bible Center and the Retail Clerk’s Union. Services are 10 a.m. today in Roselawn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Nash officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Woodrow Wilson ‘Buster’ Kinnaman
Woodrow Wilson “Buster” Kinnaman, 86, of Greenfield and formerly of Terre Haute died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, in Greenfield. He was born Feb. 11, 1913, in Danville, Ill., to Daniel William Kinnaman and Ida Mae Maynard Kinnaman. His wife, Ethel Kimble Kinnaman, preceded him in death. Survivors include two daughters, Frances Darlene Hancock and Mary Driesbach; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Graveside services are 3 p.m. Sunday in Bethesda Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Merriman officiating. Visitation is 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday in Pasco Memorial Mortuary in Greenfield, with Masonic memorial services at 7 p.m.
