He was born in Quincy, Indiana to Russell Baugh and Hazel (McCullough) Baugh Mundy. He was the owner and operator of Frank Baugh Sanitation Services, serving Spencer for many years. Mr. Baugh was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

Robert L. Taylor, Sr. - March 6, 2012
Robert "Bob" Taylor Sr., 85, of Gosport, Indiana, passed at his residence, Tuesday, March 6, 2012. He was born in Greencastle on December 25, 1926 to Samuel and Elizabeth (Vanlandingham) Taylor. Mr. Taylor retired from G.E. in 1986, where he was in quality control. Robert was a Sergeant in the Army serving during WWII in Occupied Japan as a Military Police Officer. He received the Army of Occupation Medal and WWII Victory Medal.

Meek, 76, of Cataract, passed away suddenly, Thursday, March 8, 2012 at IU-Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Stinesville on October 29, 1935 to Frank and Ophelia (Clark) Ellett. Betty was a 1953 graduate of Stinesville High School. She was wonderful wife, loving mother and grandmother.

Keith Bushong - April 10, 2012
Keith J. Bushong, 81, of Spencer, passed away at Owen Valley Health Campus Tuesday, April 10, 2012. He was born in Anderson, IN on September 28, 1930 to Norman and Kathryn (Comstock) Bushong. He was a graduate of Anderson High School. He served in the United States Army. Keith worked for Delco Remy as a machinist. He was a member a member of the Owen County Amateur Radio Association and enjoyed gardening and bee keeping.

Mabel Ranard - April 7, 2012
Mabel I. Ranard, 85, of Bloomington, formerly of Newark, passed away at Garden Villa, Saturday, April 7, 2012. She was born in Owen County, June 18, 1926, to Dolphus and Doris (Collins) Freeman. She was a member Newark Pentecostal Church and enjoyed making crafts. Mabel is survived by two sons, Lonnie Ranard (Anita) of Bloomfield, and Tony Ranard of Solsberry; a daughter, Peggy Jones of Bloomington.

Paul Wayne Ellis - April 5, 2012
Paul Wayne Ellis, 53, of Spencer, passed away at his residence April 5, 2012. He was born March 25, 1959 in Beech Grove to Clarence and Ruby (Alkern) Ellis. He worked as a painter and enjoyed cooking, carpentry, gardening, landscaping, and being in the outdoors. Paul is survived by his brother, Arvine Ellis of Spencer; four sisters, Paula Ellis of Spencer, Linda Brown of Las Vegas, NV, Beverly Mitchell of Indianapolis, and Bonnie Weldon.

Carolyn Parsley - March 30, 2012
Carolyn Parsley, 79, of Cuba, IN, passed away at her residence on Friday, March 30, 2012. She was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on February 23, 1933 to Frank and Madie (Nanny) Kingery. Carolyn was a homemaker and great mother. She loved to garden, travel, camp, and fish and especially enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jesse Parsley.

He was born November 26, 1992 in Lafayette. Judd was the son of Kevin and Vicki (Stewart) Richardson. He attended Owen Valley Schools and was continuing his education through home schooling as he worked construction with his brother.

Geneva F. Weddle, 94, of Ellettsville, died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at IU Health Bloomington. She was born March 12, 1918 in Owen County to Everett and Opal (Brown) Maners. She attended Shiloh School. Geneva worked for RCA for 21 years and was a member of Liberty Church of Christ in Hendricksville. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, and baking.

Hickam, 71, of Spencer, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington. Stanly was born October 12, 1940 in Owen County to Chester and Pearl (Morley) Hickam. He worked as a truck driver and was passionate about Harley Davidson motorcycles.

She was born February 15, 1994 in Bloomington to William McGee and Vickie Edwards. Nicole was a known for being a funny, sweet, and loving young lady. She enjoyed swimming, cooking, and her cats. She loved being around her family.

William "Bill" Franklin - March 14, 2012
William "Bill" L. Franklin, 68, of Spencer, passed away at his residence, Wednesday, March 14, 2012. He was born in Owen County to Herbert C. and Audrey (Unger) Franklin on October 27, 1943. Bill was a 1962 graduate of Spencer High School. He then served in the Army during the Vietnam War, serving in Korea. Mr. Franklin retired from G.E. in 2003. He enjoyed traveling and trying new recipes with his wife, Darlene.

Ernestine L. Sherfield - October 26, 2012
Ernestine L. Sherfield, 85, of Spencer, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012 at IU Health Morgan County Hospital in Martinsville. She was born on June 8, 1927 to the late Arlo and Elsie (Wright) George of Koleen, Indiana. She married John A. Sherfield on December 28, 1946 and he survives. Mrs. Sherfield worked at RCA in Bloomington for many years. She then worked at Otis Elevator, retiring after 19 years of service.

Rita Lou Parrish - October 23, 2012
Rita Lou Parrish, 82, of Plainfield, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. She was born on May 18, 1930 in South Bend to Robert F. and Amy (Detamore) Greenwood. Rita retired from Public Service of Indiana in Plainfield where she had worked in the data entry department. Mrs. Parrish was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed reading books on many different subjects.

Shaun Denese Shadoin, 60, of Spencer, passed away at IU Health Bloomington on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. She was born in Bloomington on May 24, 1952 to George Warren "Ike" and Mary Frances (Waldon) Johnson. Shaun was a graduate of Bloomington South High School. Mrs. Shadoin was a co-owner of Briteway/Indoor Clean Air in Spencer. She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed attending Women's Christian events.

Winifred "Pat" Morse - October 21, 2012
Winifred "Pat" Morse, 88, of Farmersburg, formerly of Spencer, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012. Previously she had lived in Stroud, Oklahoma. She was born in Kokomo on October 10, 1924 to Noel Henry and Ora Rose (Arnett) Pamplin. Mrs. Morse retired from Pinkerton Security in Terre Haute after several years of service where she was stationed at the DADC plant. Earlier in her life she worked in the meat department at Rhims IGA.

Earl Cooksey - October 17, 2012
Earl L. Cooksey, 88, of Plainfield, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at IU Health and Hospice House in Bloomington. He was born August 18, 1924 in Owen County to Elza and Rosa (Keller) Cooksey. He served in the United States Army. Earl worked as a truck driver until his retirement from Pie Trucking and was a dedicated member of the Teamsters Union.

Fred Lee Medaris, 54, of Indianapolis, formerly of Spencer, passed away October 13, 2012 at his residence. He was born November 7, 1957 in Bloomington, IN to Frederick and Normalee (Woodburn) Medaris. He served in the United States National Guard. He was a graduate of Indiana School of Law. He is survived by his brother Ron (Paulette) Medaris of Bonita Springs, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents. There are no services.

Alberta "Rosemary" Shepard, 78, of Spencer, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Owen Valley Health Campus. She was born November 23, 1933 in Brazil, IN to Hulet and Helen (Stoops) Mishler. She was a 1951 graduate of Brazil High School. She worked at Cook Urological in Spencer as a packager until her retirement in 1998. Rosemary was a life member of the Spencer VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary.

Mary (Watkins) Syphers - October 12, 2012
Mary A. Syphers, 87, of Spencer, passed away Friday, October 12, 2012 at The Residence at McCormick's Creek. She was born April 8, 1925 in Bridgeport, IN to Hyram Warren and Mamie Dell (Franklin) Watkins. She was a member of Lynhurst Baptist Church in Indianapolis and was very active in the church, the schools, and the community. Mary enjoyed reading, sports, and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

He was a 1990 graduate of Edgewood High School and worked as an electrician. He was a member of IBEW 725 and enjoyed his ham radio and riding his Harley-Davidson.

Caroline Cassel, 82, of Bloomington, formerly of Spencer, passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born in Gosport on January 19, 1930 to Ronald M. and Zelma (Edwards) Parrish. Caroline retired from ARA Food Services where she was a cook at a sorority and an insurance agent. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a Christian. Caroline was a fun loving person.

Barbara "Bobbi" Jean Herrington, 77, of Spencer, passed away at her residence, Friday, October 5, 2012. She was born January 18, 1935 in Clay County to John and Ruby (Funkhouser) Bayer. She worked at RCA for 25 years. Mrs. Herrington was an avid IU basketball and Payton Manning fan.

Dale L. Weeks, 75, of Stilesville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Greenfield on August 17, 1937 to Howard and Rosalyn (Adams) Weeks. Dale was a 1956 Gosport High School graduate. He later joined the Army, serving in Germany. Mr. Weeks worked at Bridgeport/Olin Brass for 40 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member and former officer of the Plainfield Eagles #3207.

Mrs. Fiscus was a 1940 graduate of Stinesville High School. Doris worked at Merle Norman Cosmetics and J.C. Penney before retiring. She attended the Church of Christ on East Morgan St., was a member of a Monroe County Homemakers Extension Club.

Ina Mae Wilson, 72, of Freedom, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, September 18, 2012. She was born in Jellico Creek, KY on February 23, 1040 to Pete and Eula (Stephens) Manning. She was an assembler at G.E. in Bloomington, retiring in 1990. Mrs. Wilson was raised in the Baptist faith and attended the Freedom Methodist Church. She enjoyed collecting antiques, making quilts and antique button colleges.

Richard "Rick" L. Sheese, Jr., 44, of Bowling Green, passed away at IU Health-Bloomington, Friday, September 14, 2012. He was born December 11, 1967 in Bloomington to Shirley (Swango) and Richard L. Sheese, Sr. Rick was a 1986 Owen Valley High School graduate. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Community Church, the Spencer Masonic Lodge and a 26 year member of the Patricksburg Volunteer Fire Department.

John "Bud" Orville Stewart - September 4, 2012
John "Bud" Orville Stewart, 78, resident of Owen County, passed Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Bloomington Hospital. He was born March 9, 1934. He was the son of Orville and Nellie Stewart. He served in the U.S. Army, was employed with Bridgeport/ Olan Brass for 30 years, and was a member of the Steelworkers Union. Bud is survived by his wife, Carol Stewart; sons, John, Jack, Jim, Joe, and William (Maria) Stewart.

Clifton Ray Bell - August 24, 2012
Clifton Ray Bell, 75, of Ellettsville, passed away at Richland Bean Blossom Nursing Home on Friday, August 24, 2012. He was born on January 8, 1937 in Louisville, Ky. He worked in the Maintenance Department for the City of Bloomington Utilities for over 20 years. Clifton was a member of the First Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Spencer. He was a great trader of many different things and enjoyed traveling.
