Kathryn Lynn "Katie" Davidson

Kathryn Lynn (Katie) Davidson, 20, of Columbus, passed away at her home, Tuesday, September 1, 2009.
Katie was born October 16, 1988 to parents, Don Davidson and Diana (Frank) Abplanalp. She graduated from Columbus East High School in 2007, where she had been a member of the track and the swim team.
Katie loved life and helping anyone in need. She had a generous heart that was always open. She loved her cats, Minnie, Mickey, Derby, her black lab.
She was a member of the Garden City Church of Christ.
Katie is survived by her parents; sisters, Leslie Davidson and Angela West both of Indianapolis; and brothers, Joel Davidson, Matthew Daniel Abplanalp of Columbus; grandparents Paul and Doris Romine and Bonnie Davidson; and aunt, Barbara Romine; uncles, Keith (Tanya) Romine, Glen (Sharon) Davidson of Freetown, several cousins, two nieces and a nephew.
Katie was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Earl Davidson and a cousin Chloe Davidson.
FUNERAL: Friday September 4, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Garden City Church of Christ with the Rev. Virgil Clotfelter officiating.
VISITATION: 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday September 3, 2009 at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services at the church.
BURIAL: Flat Rock Baptist cemetery.

Chase A. Shoaf
February 27, 1992 - January 10, 2010
Chase A. Shoaf, 17, of South U.S. 31, died at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Chase was a member of the Senior Class at Columbus East High School and performed with the Center Stage Choir there. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Boy Scout Troop No. 506.
Chase enjoyed working on cars, mountain biking, playing golf, Xbox as well as ultimate Frisbee.
Survivors include his parents, John A. and Teresa A. Wright Shoaf of Columbus; a brother, Trey A. Shoaf; sisters, Ashley (Neil) Crapo of Sahuaruta, AZ and Abby and Chelsie Shoaf of Columbus; maternal grandparent, Joann Ray of Richmond, IN and paternal grandparents, Paul and Elsie Shoaf of Hope.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Donald Wright.
FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with N. Strait Hill officiating.
CALLING: 3:30 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at the church.
Following the service there will be a private dedication of the grave and burial at Hope Moravian cemetery.

Helen Nadine Grider
December 05, 1932 - August 09, 2009
Helen Nadine Grider, 76, of Columbus died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, 1009, at Columbus Health Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Grider was a member of Columbus General Baptist Church. She loved going to church and listening to gospel music and also enjoyed animals, especially her Yorkie “Benjie.”
Born in Metcalf County, Ky., Dec. 5, 1932, Mrs. Grider was the daughter of Charlie and Lucy Delk Hagan.
She is survived by sons, Edward Grider of Columbus, Jimmy (Debra) Grider of Elizabethtown, Jerry (Monica) Grider of Columbus and Danny Grider of Columbus; daughters, Patsy Bennett of Columbus, Brenda Thomas of LaVergne, Tenn., and Sandra (David) Thompson of Flat Rock; a sister, Pauline Bryant of Edmonton, Ky.; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harlie, Clifton, Shelly, Garnett and Chester Hagan.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Fields officiating.
VISITATION: 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday.

Franklin John Burbrink
May 13, 1990 - May 28, 2007
Franklin John Burbrink, 17, of Columbus died early Monday morning, May 28, 2007, in rural Jackson County.
A junior at Columbus East High School, Frank was active in 4-H, FFA, Junior Fair Board and National Junior Swine Association and was the Junior Leader representative on the Bartholomew County Fair Board.
He would have been awarded the Hoosier Degree this June at the Indiana State FFA Convention.
His favorite 4-H projects included welding, swine, dairy, junior leaders, soybeans, alfalfa and crops.
In the past few years Frank took an interest in breeding hogs for showing and was interested in helping 4-Hers breed pigs in the future.
Frank collected hats and enjoyed hunting, tractor pulls, livestock shows and fairs. He also enjoyed working on the family farm and learning how to make things work.
He excelled academically in the C4 machines trades program and was a Torch Time mentor at East.
In the future, Frank planned to work on the family grain and dairy farm with his father, Greg, and his brother, Nathan.
He was the proud uncle of Josie, Grace and Jack Burbrink and enjoyed spending time with family. He was a devoted friend to many and was committed to helping others.
Frank was born May 13, 1990, in Columbus, the son of Bonnie and Greg Burbrink.
Survivors include his parents; a sister, Carrie Burbrink of Minneapolis; brothers, Cliff (Hillary) Burbrink of Westport and Nathan (Liz) Burbrink of Columbus; aunts and uncles, Eva and Bob Trapp of North Olmsted, Ohio, Jill Owens of Evansville, Tony and Milly Harden, Phil and Cheri Harden, Connie and Larry Nolting and Kathy and David Harden, all of Columbus; grandmother, Maxine Harden of Columbus; nieces and nephews, Josie and Grace Burbrink of Columbus and Jack Burbrink of Westport; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Jim Harden and John and Norma Burbrink.
VISITATION: Thursday May 31, 2007 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds pavilion and also Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Petersville United Methodist Church.
FUNERAL: Friday June 1, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Petersville United Methodist Church with Laura Helm officiating.

Dorine Diebolt

Dorine Diebolt, 77, of Flintwood Drive, died at 11:16 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 at her home.
Dorine was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s and St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
Mrs. Diebolt was born Jan. 1, 1932 in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, the daughter of Ralph and Rhoda Ramsey Hansen. She married
David A. Diebolt, June 25, 1955.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Steve (Pam) Diebolt of Columbus and Dan Diebolt of Queenstown, Maryland; a daughter, Maribeth Diebolt of Indianapolis; brothers, John (Irene) Hansen of Florida and Ralph (Dorothy) Hansen of Lincoln Park, MI.; a sister, Ginger (Frank) Camerrela of Wall Lake, MI; grandchildren, Yolanda Eddelman, Amanda (Chuck) Hupp, Matt (Brittany) Diebolt and Andrew Diebolt; great-grandchildren, Zarek, Zenethia and Tata England, Jacob McKee, Michael Goodin, Logan Michaels, Haven Eddelman, Charles, Jaraca and April Hupp and Dakota and Nolan Diebolt, and a great-grandchild, Makenna.
Dorine was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Timothy Diebolt; a granddaughter, Carol McKee and a great-granddaughter, Ellen McKee.

Edward M. Whalley
April 17, 1923 - December 26, 2008
Ed M. Whalley, 85, of Columbus, Ind. died at 1:55 a.m. Friday, December 26, 2008, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Ed was a professional industrial engineer with a 40-year career at Borg-Warner in the Cleveland, OH, area and Reliance Electric of Columbus. He was an active member of the Society of Professional Engineers. Ed did extensive charity volunteer work including Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Columbus.
Mr. Whalley was born April 17, 1923 in Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of Edward and Helen Waite Whalley. He married
Irene M. Bendick in 1945.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Deborah (Gary) Butcher of Chicago, Ill., Patricia (Damian) Lis of New York; Pamela (Jim) Hedrick of Bellingham, Wash. and Benita (Terry) Dean of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren..
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Will be conducted Saturday, January 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Columbus, with Pastor John F. Hawkins and Pastor Edward Boone officiating.
CALLING: Will be Saturday, January 3, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to service time.

Misty Dawn Daniels
February 16, 1993 - September 17, 2009
Misty Dawn Daniels, 16, of Seymour, Ind. died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. at her home.
Misty was a Junior at Seymour High school. She attended Community Church of Columbus and was very involved with her youth groups that she attended at Community Church of Columbus and Edinburgh United Methodist Church in Edinburgh, Ind. She loved cooking, swimming, riding her bicycle and taking care of children and she also loved animals. Misty was loved and was loyal to her family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Misty Daniels Funeral Fund through any Indiana Bank Trust branch or through the funeral home.
Misty was born February 16, 1993, the daughter of Darla Cheek.
