Joseph "Joe" Reed

Service Date: The Revs. Mark Powell & Roy Ice will conduct a funeral service at 11 am on Friday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center located at 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery in Morgantown with military rites presented by the Martinsville American Legion & VFW Honor Guards.
Joseph "Joe" Reed, age 80 passed on June 2, 2012 at his residence in Morgantown. Joe made Morgantown his home for the past 62 years after serving as a Corporal with the Company B 501st ABN MED BN of the United States Army during the Korean War. After serving his country, he married Jo Ann (Faucett) Reed on April 21, 1951 in Morgantown. She preceded him in death on March 11, 1995, after 43 devoted years. Joe later married Patricia Ann 'Pat' (Vaught) Reed on June 2, 1996 in Morgantown. She lovingly survives in Morgantown.
He was born August 12, 1931 in Columbia, PA to the late John & Elizabeth (Splain) Reed. Joe retired in 1986 as a Truck Driver for Standard Oil Company in Indianapolis after 23 years of service. Prior to that, he worked for the Stockton Company in Morgantown from 1955 to 1963. After retirement, Joe drove a school bus for Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson School Corp from 1986 to 2007.
He was a 60 year member of the Morgantown United Methodist Church, where he served as a Trustee for more than 12 years. Joe was a past president of the Morgantown Conservation Club, past president of the Morgantown Rural Fire Department, past board member of the East Hill cemetery in Morgantown and was a charter member of the Morgantown Junior Chamber of Commerce. Joe was instrumental in the bringing Morgantown's Little League Ball Diamond into reality by helping build the diamond. He brought joy to many at Christmas time by playing Santa Claus at schools, churches and nursing homes. Joe never met a stranger, was a compassionate man and was always ready to brighten someone's day with his quick humor.
He enjoyed traveling, camping and taking train rides. Joe was a collector of coins, stamps, dolls and toy trucks. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working in his woodshop. While driving a school bus, Joe enjoyed driving the Indian Creek Band to their competitions and students on their field trips.
Joe will be missed by his two sons: Jeff Reed of Trafalgar & Jim (Jackie) Reed of Martinsville; two step children: Pam (Mike) Doran of Fountaintown & Brian (Deana) Burgin of California; seven grandchildren: Olivia (Michael) Hipsher of Elgin, IL, Jamie (Matt) Riffel of Eminence, Justin & Jade Reed & Melissa Quimby of Martinsville, Michael (Brandy) Reed of Franklin & Brian (Brittany) Reed of Trafalgar; 9 step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild. He will be remembered by his siblings: Esther "Cookie" Nofer, Susan Heims, John, Jerry, Donald, Marvin & Charles Reed all of Pennsylvania; and Robert Reed of Ohio: along with 54 nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Anna Mary Reed, Marion Louise Reed & Elizabeth "Betty" Mowrer; and two great grandchildren: Derek Hipsher & Ashlyn Rice.

Randall E. "Randy" Fox
Date Of Birth: May 6, 1953
Date Of Death: May 31, 2012
Service Date: The Rev. Darrel Miller will conduct a graveside service 2 pm Wednesday at the Goshen cemetery on Gatesville Road in Brown County. Friends may call from 1 pm until service time at the cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
Randall E. "Randy" Fox, age 59 passed on Thursday evening, May 31, 2012 at his home in Nashville.
Randy was born May 6, 1953 in Brown County to the late Jessie E. & Romona M. (McClary) Fox. He was the owner and operator of Randy Fox's Tree Service in Brown County.
Survivors include his wife: Janell K. Fox of Nashville; three sons: Randy Fox Jr. of Spencer, Bobby & Dustin O'Neal both of Nashville; three sisters: Mariea (Donald) Fox-Blinzinger of Indianapolis, Lory (Hiram) Waltz of Nashville & Tamara McKittrick of Bowling Green; two brothers: Jeff (Barbara) Fox of Nashville & Ryan (Kasey) Fox of Bedford. Randy is also survived by four grandchildren: Donte Fox of Spencer, Robert Tapp of Martinsville, Trinity & Alycia O'Neal both of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister: Kelly Wright.
Randy enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and participating in rides that supported children; especially the Relay for Life Ride that helped the children at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed raising and riding horses. Randy also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his dog "B.J."

Trudy P. (Slicer) Houston
Date Of Birth: May 23, 1938
Date Of Death: October 9, 2011
Service Date: The Rev. Mike Messer will conduct a funeral service on Friday at 10:30 am at the Liberty Baptist Church, 10450 East County Road 450 North in Indianapolis.
Friends may call from 4-8 pm on Thursday at Conkle Funeral Home ( 76 North State Road 267, Avon, IN 46123)
Entombment will take place at Floral Park cemetery in Indianapolis.
Trudy P. (Slicer) Houston, age 73 passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday morning, October 9, 2011 at her home in Indianapolis.
Trudy was born May 23, 1938 in Gallatin, Tennessee to the late Charlie L. and Rosa E. (McCloud) Slicer. She married Robert L. "Bob" Houston on December 20, 1957 in Indianapolis. He survives after 53 loving years.
Other survivors include her two sons: Larry Houston and wife Jeanne of Indianapolis & Michael Robert Houston and wife Mary of Brownsburg. Trudy will be remembered by her sister: Margaret M. Brown of Indianapolis and a brother: Steve A. Slicer of Andalusia, Alabama. She was the devoted grandmother to : James L. Houston IV, Timothy C. Houston, Jacob Lee Houston and Ashley Pearl Houston.
Trudy was preceded in death by a sister: Dorothy M. Jackson and six brothers: Roy, Clyde, Ted, Pat, Charlie Toby and Ray Slicer.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Indianapolis. Trudy enjoyed working in her flower gardens, going to yard sales and auctions.

Robert H. Lemble
Robert H. Lemble, 31, of Unionville passed away at IU Health-Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on Tuesday, August 30, 2011.
Robert was born in Bloomington on December 22, 1979 into the home of Howard E. Lemble and Joyce (Neibel) Ross. He was a self employed mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Melody Lemble.
Robert is survived by his mother, Joyce Ross of Bloomington; grandparents, Dana and Robert Neibel, Sr of Gosport; son, Jacob Lemble of Bloomington; sisters, Nikki Clephane of Martinsville and Micki Lemble of Bloomington; girlfriend, Brandi Prince of Bloomington; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Baker officiating. Visitation with the family will be from noon until time of services at the funeral home.

Richard L "Dick" Hancock
Richard L. Dick Hancock, beloved husband and father, passed away on October 5, 2011 after a brief illness at the age of 77.
He was born on July 7, 1934 to Monroe and Mary (Davis) Hancock in Monroe County. He was a 1952 graduate of Ellettsville High School. Immediately after graduation, Dick went to work for RCA where he was a supervisor for most of his 41 years spent there. After retirement he also worked at Sears for seven years. Dick was an avid bible reader from the age of twelve. He loved teaching and preaching the word. He also has pastored Arbutus Community Church for the past 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin and one grandson.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Brenda Hancock; son, Michael Hancock (Cathy) of Bloomington; daughters, Rebecca Freeman (Bill Phillips) of Bloomington, Tammy Crowe (Brent) of Bloomfield; step-daughters, Jana Holtom (Glen) of Noblesville, Tressa Earley (Steve) of Montezuma; also surviving are step-daughters who were considered daughters; Linda Sparks of Bloomfield, Patty Raper (Bruce) of Spencer, Rita Page of Bloomington, Sandra Stillions (Norman), and Deborah Buckley all of Solsberry; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Robert of Ash Grove, MO; sisters, Beverly Cook (Larry) and Nancy Porter (Charles) both of Freedom; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Garrison Chapel Church on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Tom Turpin, Rev. Donald Hash, and John Callahan officiating. Burial is to follow at Garrison Chapel cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville today from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Arbutus Community Church building fund in Richardss memory.

Mr. Adam Earl Deaton
Mr. Adam Earl Deaton, 78, of Seymour, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2008, at 5:06 PM at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Deaton was born in Alais, KY, on May 13, 1930, the son of Estill and Mary (Brewer) Deaton.
On May 21, 1954, he married Katie Boling, who survives.
Mr. Deaton attended Seymour Christian Church. He was employed with Arvins for 20 years and retired from the Waste Water Treatment Plant in 1994.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years; sons; Tony Deaton, Timothy (Barbara) Deaton, Mark (Susan) Deaton, 5 grandchildren; Harlan Deaton, Alison Deaton, Melissa (Mike) Riley, Pamela Niemeyer, Jessica (Brad) Riley, 4 great grandchildren; Bryce Lee Riley, Keara Riley, Laura Lei Caplinger, Brayden Riley, brothers; Billy ( Jessie) Deaton, Eli "Sam" (Phyliss) Deaton, Jerry (Clara) Deaton, Wilbern "Chester" (Joan) Deaton, Leonard Deaton, sisters; Hazel Prewitt, Anna Mae Deaton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 infant sisters.
Services will be held at Voss Chapel on Friday, October 17, at 10:30 AM with Rev. Bill Weaver officiating.
Burial will follow at Riverview cemetery with a Voss Dove Tribute.
Friends may call Thursday, at Voss Chapel from 4:00-8:00 PM and on Friday from 9:30 AM until service time.
Memorials may be written to Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society.

Nancy C. Canada
Nancy C. Canada, 74, of Spencer went to be with her Lord and Savior at The Residence at McCormicks Creek on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 3:15 a.m.
Nancy was born on February 13, 1937 in Monroe County to the late Frank and Ophelia (Clark) Ellett. She was married to David Canada who preceded her in death in October of 2005. She graduated from Stinesville High School in 1955. Nancy was retired from Cook Inc. and also worked at Sarkas Tarzian. She was a member of the Stinesville Nazarene Church and attended the Central Church of Christ in Bedford. Nancy had the gift of hospitality and used it as a means of giving to others. She was the Ellett familys Martha Stewart using her talent at every party, dinner and shower which was well thought out to the last detail. She loved and lived for her husband and family and will be very missed by all that knew her.
She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, John Grinnell.
Nancy is survived by her three sisters, Ann Eads (Jim) of Spencer, Donna Grinnell of Aurora, IL, Betty Meek (Don) of Cataract, IN; brother, John Ellett (Marilyn) of Hot Springs, AR; step-sons, Doug Canada (Linda) of Bedford, Danny Canada (JoEllen) of Belpre, OH and Phillip Canada of Columbus, IN; several nieces and nephews and step grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Stinesville Nazarene Church on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rudy Lee officiating. Burial is to follow at Liberty cemetery. Friends may call on the family at Chandler Funeral Home on Friday, June 17, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.

Roy Wayne White
Roy Wayne White of Bloomington passed away at University Medical Center in Louisville on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the age of 21 due to complications of an automobile accident.
Roy was born on August 23, 1990 in Marion County, Indiana to Roy D. White and Rennah (Thompson) White. He worked at K&W Property and Preservation in Bedford.
Roy is survived by his fianc, Alissa Dawn Hays of Bedford; father, Roy White and wife Shon of Bloomington; mother, Rennah White of Bedford; grandparents Errol W. and Mary Lou Thompson of Oolitic and Donald and Gayann Pelfree of Bedford, and grandmothers, Martha Jean Buckner of Bloomfield and Mary A. White of Bloomington; brother, Devin E. Grounds of Bloomington; sisters, Emma Rose White of Bloomington and Daysha A. Laramore (Mac) of Linton and nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jerry R. Hardin and Robert Thompson and Roberts wife Madaline; uncle, William C. Buckner and cousin, Jana Lynn Tomlinson.
Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Larry Hawkins and Brother Lyman Taylor officiating. Burial is to follow at Oak Grove cemetery in Springville. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 2-6.

Charles M. Hawkins

Charles M. Hawkins age 77 passed away Monday morning, November 29, 2010 at the Morgantown Health Care-Inn. He was a resident of Morgantown and former resident of Indianapolis.
Charles was born February 12, 1933 in Brown County to the late Joseph and Violet P. (Foster) Hawkins. He was a 1952 graduate of Helmsburg High School in Brown County.
He is survived by three sons: Russell (Leda) Dean of Brown County, Bradley (Lisa) Hawkins of Indianapolis and Brian (Deeanna) Hawkins of Morgantown; two daughters: Ginger (Andrew) Hawkins - Hernandez of Ventura, CA and Tiffany (Larry) Adams of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren: Hunter, Bradley II, Ryan & Melissa Hawkins, Bethany Webb, Adriana Adams, Brittany & Tessa Dean, step grandchildren: Scott & Brian Hernandez and great granddaughter: Danielle ZanArsdale; several nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by five brothers: Robert Foster, Manuel Hawkins, Daniel Hawkins, Joe Hawkins & Carl Hawkins; one grandson: Jacob Dean.
He retired in 2007 as the owner & operator of C & T Hawkins Roofing & Sheet Metal Co. in Indianapolis, after 27 years of service. Prior to that, he worked for Sink & Edwards as a Roofer and Sheet Metal Worker in Indianapolis for 25 years. Charles was a member of the Steel Workers Union Local 20 in Indianapolis and also a member of the Jehovah Witness Faith.
He enjoyed coin collecting, roller skating and traveling with his family to Florida. He was a fan of the Indiana Pacers.
The Elder Wendell Petree will conduct a funeral service 7 pm Wednesday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 5 until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at East Hill cemetery in Morgantown.

Harold F. Fishel
Date Of Birth: Febraury 21, 1915
Date Of Death: January 30, 2013
Service Date: The Rev. Allen Ketchersid will conduct a funeral service 11 am Saturday at the Unionville Church Of Christ, 8056 State Road 45 in Unionville. Friends may call from 10 am until time of service on Saturday at the church. Harold will be laid to rest by his wife at the Unionville cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
Harold F. Fishel passed away peacefully in his 97th year on Wednesday morning, January 30, 2013 at the Four Seasons Retirement Center in Columbus. He was a resident of Columbus and a former resident of Bloomington.
Harold was born in Manson, Iowa on February 21, 1915 to the late Elmer E. & Mabel A. (McLary) Fishel. He married Elsie M. Chitwood on November 14, 1939 in Vincennes. She preceded him in death on January 10, 1996 after 56 devoted years.
Harold retired in 1976 as a High Voltage Electrician for Indiana University after 22 years of service. Prior to that, he worked for Indianapolis Power & Light Company from 1939 to 1944. Harold was a member of the Unionville Church of Christ and served as a Morgan County REMC Board Member from 1960 to 1975. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing basketball & baseball. Later in life he enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time with his companion, Marjorie Young of Columbus.
Harold is survived by his children: Connie G. Young of Pearland, TX, Gary (wife, Ruth) Fishel & Rusty J. (wife, Robin) Fishel both of Bloomington. He will be remembered by his sister: Helen (husband, Terry) Truax of Martinsville; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a sister in law: Lydia Fishel of Fredericksburg, TX.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister: Margaret Weddle; three brothers: Harry, Donald & Fred Fishel and a son in law: Bob Young.
