June Eikelberner
April 26, 2014
June Eikelberner, 100, of Logansport, passed away at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 in Miller's Merry Manor.
Born October 1, 1913 in Tiopia, Minnesota, she was the daughter of William Ray and Catherine Pautvein Mitchell. On June 6, 1936, in Kenyon, Minnesota, she was married to William Augustus Eikelberner who preceded her in death March 21, 1978.
In 1931, June graduated from Kenyon High School in Minnesota. Following high school, June earned a teaching certificate. After teaching for one year, she moved to Chicago, Illinois to live with her aunt and uncle in order to pursue another job. That is where she met her future husband, William. After their marriage and the birth of their two daughters, the young family moved to his hometown of Logansport.
A homemaker, she had worked with her husband as a bookkeeper in their family business, Eikelberner Tractor Sales. June lived at home for most of her life, raising cattle and other animals. She loved the country life.
June was a dedicated member of the Shiloh Christian Church. Her church family was an extension of her own. She served as choir director for several years and was a beloved Sunday School teacher to many adults and children for over 50 years.
For 60 years, she enjoyed being a part of the neighborhood road club and canasta club. She loved gardening and cooking. June was an avid Purdue fan, always watching the Boilermaker's basketball games on TV. Family gatherings were very special to June. She especially looked forward to the calls and visits from her beloved grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Gary Myers and Kay and Bernhard Ulfers, all of Logansport; one sister, Shirley Langemo of Kenyon, Minnesota; three grandchildren who brought much joy to her life, Charity Myers, Gretchen Schwartz and Brent Ulfers; five precious great-grandchildren Parker Pluckebaum, Julian Elle Schwartz, and Adelaide and Victoria Ulfers; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, with Pastor Tim McKaig officiating.
Interment will follow in Shiloh Christian cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014, in the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shiloh Christian Church and Cass County Special Olympics.

Lillian Ivy Wilson Thompson Paulson
August 16, 1922 - May 07, 2014
Lillian Ivy Wilson Thompson Paulson, 91, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, May 07, 2014 in IU Health.
She was born on August 16, 1922 in Spartanburg, S.C. to the late Thomas and Nancy Gentry Fowler.
Her first marriage was to Horace Wilson; he was killed in action WWII. In 1946, Lillian married the late Charles Thompson. On July 14, 1969, she married Rodney J. Paulson in Toledo, OH; he preceded her in death on September 12, 2010.
Lillian worked many years as a waitress in Lafayette and Toledo, OH.
Lillian enjoyed riding with her husband on the Columbia Star Ore Merchant ship on the Great Lakes. She also enjoyed shopping and gardening, especially roses.
Surviving are her children, Steve Thompson (Carole), Deborah Lucas (Richard), and Patricia Wilson all of Lafayette. Also surviving is one sister, Vera Kouba of Lynchburg, VA and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Art Junior Wilson; 2 sisters; and several brothers.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Lafayette. A Funeral Service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Lillian. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Edmund Thomas Halgren
August 08, 1930 - May 14, 2014
Edmund Thomas Halgren, aged 83, of Noblesville, passed away at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in his home, after a brief fight with lung cancer.
Born in August 8, 1930, in Nashua, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late Emerald Taigner and Anna (Harris) Halgren. On August 21, 1960, in the Walton Christian Church, he was married to Janet Louise Sprinkle Halgren.
Ed was a 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars as a Security Policeman at bases in Indiana, Massachusetts, Florida, Kansas, Washington, England, the Philippines, and Greenland. After his military service, he settled in Logansport and worked for the Farmers Merchants State Bank, Wilson Foods, and Wal-Mart over the next 35 years.
He was a member of American Legion Post #418 in Walton, Indiana. Ed enjoyed listening to Country and Big Band music, and had a passion for woodworking.
He is survived by Janet Louise (Sprinkle) Halgren, his wife of 53 years; his son, Corey Halgren; his daughter, Christina (Halgren) Hernandez and her husband Felipe Hernandez; and a brother, Robert Halgren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his younger brother, Richard Halgren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Fisher Funeral Chapel in Logansport with Chaplain Ron May officiating.
Burial, with full military rites, will follow at Ever Rest Memorial Park in Logansport.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, in the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ed's honor to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).

Paul E. Watts
August 15, 1936 - April 23, 2014
Paul E. Watts, 77, Logansport, passed away at 8:51 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in his home.
Born August 15, 1936, in Logansport, he was the son of John and Helen (Lowe) Watts. On January 23, 1958, in Mexico, Indiana, he was married to Carol Boyd Watts, who survives.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Paul served in Germany prior to the Vietnam War. Paul was retired from the North Manchester Foundry.
Surviving with his wife of 56 years are six daughters, Kathryn Moore, of Springport, Michigan, Lois Tolson, of Fort Wayne, Doris Eubank, of North Manchester, and Jane Hyde, Lora Slusser and Ellen Cross, all of Logansport.
Private graveside services will be held in Burrows cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Fisher Funeral Chapel to assist the family during their time of loss.

Bonita "Bonnie" J. Harris
April 04, 1959 - April 25, 2014
Bonita “Bonnie” Joyce Harris, 61, of Lafayette, passed away on April 25, 2014 at home.
She was born on April 4, 1053 to the late Argel Wayne and Lela Mae (York) Williams Lucas in Lafayette. In 1974, she married Charles William Harris; he preceded her in death on October 11, 1997.
Bonnie was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are daughters, Stephanie Harris (Brian Presley) and Loretta Harris (Brandon Bradfield); sisters, Teri Freeman (Michael Breitwieser) and Jeannie Wayne; a brother, Michael Williams (Kelli Clay); grandchildren, Kyle, Nequila, Brock, Brooke, Logan, Bree, Philo, Moss, and Diane.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charles William Harris, Jr.
Services will be on Friday, May 2nd at 1 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel with interment following in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Friday, May 2nd from noon until 1p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Memorial Donations may be made to Fisher Funeral Chapel to help the family with funeral expenses.

Ronald E. Gaumer
June 26, 1946 - April 28, 2014
Ronald E. Gaumer, 67, Logansport, passed away at 5:46 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 in his home surrounded by those he loved.
Born June 26, 1946 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Mathias and Gertrude Rombold Gaumer.
Ron worked as a truck driver and mechanic.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing, Ron was always ready for a good game of euchre. But the time spent with his family were the moments he cherished most of all.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Gaumer and his wife Leva of Logansport, and Jeffrey Gaumer of North Liberty; his companion Marchelle McQueary; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
A funeral service celebrating the Ron's life will be held at 7 p.m.Thursday, May 1, 2014 in Fisher Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Gary Roberts officiating.
Interment will be in the Mount Hope cemetery.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday in the funeral chapel.

Dorotha J. Kunkel
January 29, 1923 - May 03, 2014
Dorotha J. Kunkel, 91, of Linden passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Westminster Village, West Lafayette.
Born January 29, 1923 in Clinton County she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Mildred Richardson Maguire. In 1944 she was married to Donald R. Kunkel in Clarks Hill. He preceded her in death in 1986.
In 1941, Dorotha graduated from Clarks Hill High School. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and she was a cook at Clarks Hill School.
For over 80 years Dorotha has been a charter member of the Clarks Hill Christian Church. She also belonged to the Ladies Aid Society of Clarks Hill Christian Church, the Nameless Club of Clarks Hill, and the 4 M’s Club of Linden. Dorotha enjoyed spending time with her family and sewing.
Surviving are two daughters, Sue Mullen of Lafayette and Betsy Pierce of St. Jacob, Illinois; Seven grandchildren, Anita York (Tim), Andrea Yeoman (Dan), Christopher Mullen, Paul Mullen (Tammy), Mandi Bavaro (Mike), Marci Nauman (Chad), and Micah Pierce (Jamie) and seventeen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one sister, Miriam Virgin and her son-in-law Philip Mullen.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Lafayette, with Pastor Bill Worrell Officiating.
Interment will follow in the New Richmond cemetery.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8p.m. on Tuesday May 6, 2014 at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Lafayette.
Memorial Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Shawna Mae Littleton
February 17, 1983 - November 28, 2014
Shawna Mae Littleton, 31, of Lafayette, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 28, 2014 in University Hospital Indianapolis.
She was born on February 17, 1983 to Tammy (Book) Littleton and Phillip “Dusty” Mills in West Lafayette.
Shawna was a member of First Christian Church in Lafayette and enjoyed animals, especially cats.
Surviving with her mother, Tammy Littleton are her siblings, Kelly Taylor (husband: Michael) of Lafayette, Michael Littleton of Lafayette, Libby Mills of Olitic, IN, and Dustin Mills (wife: Arley) of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dusty Mills and her grandparents, Millard and Virginia Book.
Services will be on Monday December 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Greg Eberhardt officiating. Interment will follow in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Monday from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel.

Robert L. Ciavardoni
December 27, 1949 - November 17, 2014
Robert L. Ciavardoni, 64 of Rochester, passed away at 4:10 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 in his home.
Born December 27, 1949 in Peru, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Dorothy Working Ciavardoni. On December 18, 1993, in Logansport, he was married by Rev. William Maloney to (Beth (Clemans) Ciavardoni who survives.
Bob worked as a merchant seaman and an over-the-road truck driver.
He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed working on his house.
Surviving are two sons, Timothy David Ciavardoni of Peru and Brandon Lee Ciavardoni of Rochester; one daughter, Stacey Dawn Clemans Lopez of Macy; six grandchildren, April Jenkins of Rochester, James Skiles of Macy, Dakota Riveria of Macy, Dominic Lopez of Macy, Johanna Lopez of Macy, Azaiah Depalma of Culver; two great-grandchildren, Phoenix May Jenkins and Eathan Oliver Jenkins, both of Rochester; one sister, Traci Miller of Bunker Hill; two sisters-in-law, Karen Mroz of Sidney, OH and Liane Hurst of Walton.
She was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; one brother and sister-in-law, William "Bill" and Martha Ciavardoni; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ralph Ellen Clemans.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Bob will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Teri White officiating.
Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
