Norman Welker
February 20, 2016
Norman Welker, 68, Burnettsville, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born Aug. 28, 1947, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Vearl and Maggie R. (Dubuque) Welker.
On April 12, 1970, in Flora, he was married to the former Mary Jane Wilson, who survives.
Norman was retired from Shaffer Dairy.
He was a member of the 54 Car Club and the Winamac Eagles. Norman enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
Surviving with his wife, Mary Jane, are two sons, Brian Welker, Burnettsville, and Shawn (Amber) Welker, Royal Center; brother, Bob Busch; sisters, Patty Newell and Vearladene Turnpaugh; and grandchildren, Dustin, Colton, Isabelle, Nathanial Welker and Haley Gleitz.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Welker; and half-sister, Mary Kathryn Russo.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Norman Welker will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Scott Ellison officiating.
Burial will follow in Davis cemetery.
Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, in the funeral chapel.

Mildred (Mid) Lesh
March 11, 2016
Mildred Ann "Mid" Lesh, 86, of Logansport, passed away at 6:04 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016, in the emergency room of Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born November 5, 1929, in Cass County, she was the daughter of the late Russell H. and Clara L. (Burton) Gordon.
On Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1949, in Logansport, she was married to Donald Gene Lesh. Her preceded her in death July 10, 1995.
Prior to her retirement, Mid and her husband owned and operated Lesh Advertising. In earlier years, she had worked in the finance office at Logansport High School.
Mid was a member of the Deer Creek Presbyterian Church. She was an avid golfer and loved to travel. Mid enjoyed the fellowship of the McDonald's Breakfast gang. She also had many wonderful friends in the Tuesday Night group.
Surviving are two sons, Jeff Lesh (Linda Green) of Deer Creek and Scott (Connie) Lesh of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Brandon (Christina) Lesh, Shea Zinn and Tyler Lesh; and one great-grandchild Kinsey Zinn.
She was preceded in death by her son Stanley J. Lesh and her brother Dale Allen Gordon.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Mid Lesh will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 15 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Harry Roselle officiating.
A visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Raymond John Martin
January 14, 1930 - March 13, 2016
Raymond "John" Martin, 86 of Logansport, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Woodbridge Health Campus, Logansport.
Born January 14, 1930, in Monticello, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Ruth (Booker)Martin.
On January 14, 1949, in Burnettsville, he was married to Prudence (Beagle) Martin, who survives.
John had a strong work ethic. He owned and operated Martin's Trucking. John had worked with both the County and State Highway Departments in Cass and White County. For over twenty years, John was employed as a corrections officer with the Indiana Department of Corrections supervising inmates who worked in maintenance at the State Hospital. As a truck driver, he had worked with R W Transport and Gangloff Trucking. He also hauled cement. John was a retired member of the Teamsters Union.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law: Jack and Chris Martin of Noblesville and Mark and Deborah Martin of Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Ken, Michael, Megan, Matthew, Ashley, Taylor and Kelsey; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by siblings Kenneth Martin, Georgia Martin, Mary Nance, Richard Martin, Shirley Guy, Larry Martin and William Martin.
A funeral service celebrating the life of John Martin will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Richard Utterback officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bell Center cemetery
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17 in the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Patricia Joan Dockerty
June 19, 1938 - March 20, 2016
Patricia Joan "Pat" Dockerty, 77, of Logansport, passed away peacefully at 11:10 a.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016, in her home.
Born June 19, 1938, in Niagra, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late James and Emma (Benham) Dockerty.
Pat was 1957 graduate of Logansport High School. She worked at the Logansport State Hospital for many years. After retiring, she worked in private nursing care for seniors. Pat also worked in the recreation department at the Jellystone Park in Plymouth, Indiana. She loved working with all the children she met and her Jellystone co-workers.
Her best memories involved sitting around a campfire with her friends. Pat loved camping, fishing, bicycle riding and playing Bingo. Pat also had a special dog, Princess, who was always at her side to the very end.
Surviving are a close friend, Janet Baker of Logansport; three brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Lucy) Dockerty, and Marvin (Phyllis) Dockerty, all of Kokomo and Wayne (Tammy) Dockerty, of Marion; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Anna Fitz, of Kokomo and Norma (Bud) Rogers, of Sharpsville; and many nieces and nephews, who she loved very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Hillis Bob and Lawrence Dockerty and sisters, Ellen Gunther and Wilma Aderman.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Pat Dockerty will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Fisher Funeral Chapel with with Rev.Joel Flowers officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Hope cemetery, Logansport.
Friends may call from noon to the time of the service Thursday in the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Humane Society.

Jenanne Briana Johnson
May 21, 1980 - March 11, 2016
Jenanne Brianna Johnson, 35, of Lafayette passed away Friday, March 11, 2016.
She was born on May 21, 1980 in New Prague, Minnesota to Roy and Julene Simmons Johnson.
Jenanne was currently working on her B.A. and Masters Degree in Psychology through Walden University when she passed.
She enjoyed reading, camping, and the outdoors in general. She is part Cherokee Indian and was interested in tribal lore and even joined the Cherokee Wolf Clan in North Carolina.
Surviving are her parents, Roy and Julene Johnson of Lafayette, her brother, Jason W.L. (wife, Megan) Johnson of Cullman, Alabama, and her dog, Haley.
Services will be private.

Dr. Bernard Theodore Weinland
July 02, 1922 - March 06, 2016
Bernard "Bernie" Theodore Weinland, 93, of West Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016.
He was born on July 2, 1922 in Bronxville, NY to the late Reverend George F. and Gertrude F. (Grunert) Weinland.
Bernie served in the United States Navy during World War II as a radarman second class. He was stationed with destroyer escort DE 245 on the USS Sloat in the Mediterranean, and later the Pacific.
After the war, he attended Purdue University, where he received his BS in agriculture in 1948. He managed the Purdue/USDA Poultry Research Farm in West Lafayette while earning his Masters in Genetics and PhD in Population Genetics and Statistics from Purdue University in 1966. He continued to work for the USDA as a biometrician at the Agricultural Research Center in Beltsville, Maryland. He retired after more than 31 years with the Department of Agriculture and moved to Sun City Center in Florida. In Sun City Center he volunteered with the ambulance service and was a member of a lawn-bowling team.
His love for his family and Purdue prompted his move to Westminster Village in West Lafayette 3 years ago. He attended St. Andrews Methodist Church in West Lafayette.
Bernie was an avid organic gardener and stamp collector. He enjoyed traveling and the beach, spending many summers camping with his family on Assateague Island at the Maryland shore.
Surviving are his sons, David (Pam) Weinland of Elkhart, IN and Bruce (Jan) Weinland of Maryland; his daughters, Jean (Lance) Rudegeair of Yellow Springs, OH, and Judy (Steve) Farrar of Marstons Mills, MA; and his siblings, Fran VanBuskirk of Newfoundland, PA and Paul Weinland of New Jersey. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and the mother of his children, Joan Weinland of Kettering, OH.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Weinland, and his sisters, Beatrice Underwood and Marion Sheetz.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at St. Andrews Methodist Church, 4703 N 50 W West Lafayette with Rev. Chris Danielson officiating.

Chester D. Kistler
February 22, 1930 - January 27, 2006
Beloved husband, father and grandfather passes away at age 75
Chester D. Kistler, 75, Logansport, died at 8:59 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2006, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Born February 22, 1930, in South Bend, he was the son of Chester and Mary DeWitt Kistler. On March 28, 1988, in Peru, he was married to Nancy Wilson, who survives. Chester worked at Alpha Industries in diecasting. A farmer, he had also worked at Modine Manufacturing in maintenance. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to go coon hunting and enjoyed raising cattle. Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Drew Kistler, Logansport, Beth Musselman and her husband, Jim, Lucerne, and Stephanie Bigger and her husband, Wes, Logansport; one son, Mark E. Kistler and his wife, Teri, Logansport; one stepson, Patrick Sharp, Florida; one stepdaughter; his mother-in-law, Lenna Wilson, Logansport; two sisters, Peg Minglin, New Waverly, and Marr Minnick, Logansport; his grandchildren, Charity Musselman, Lucerne, Jamie Musselman, Lucerne, Chris Kistler & his wife Wendy, San Antonio, Texas, William Kistler and his wife Amy, Logansport, Joshua Kistler and his fiancee Paula Abbott, Logansport, Sean Kistler, Logansport, and Jacob Bigger, Logansport; three great-grandchildren; and his stepgrandchildren. Three sisters, Betty Myers, Cynthia Martin, and Mary McKee, preceded in death.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2006, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, with Celebrant Carla Barker officiating. Burial will be in Spring Creek cemetery. Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2006, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County 4H Foundation.

Timothy L. Kneal
August 12, 1950 - December 22, 2005
Family & friends gather to celebrate a life well-lived
Timothy L. Kneal, 55, of Park County, Colo., formerly of rural West Lafayette, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at his home.
He was a graduate of Klondike High School in West Lafayette, where he was a member of the track and football teams, and also attended Ball State University.
Mr. Kneal was a master carpenter and enjoyed music, making jewelry, sports, prospecting for gold and collecting coins.
Surviving are his wife, Pamela, of Denver; his mother, Helen Kneal of West Lafayette; a half sister, Debra Kneal of West Lafayette; and two half brothers, Richard Kneal of Lafayette and David Kneal of Ohio.
Memorial services were held Saturday, January 28, 2006, in Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel, Lafayette, with Rev. Brian Nelson officiating. Burial was in West Point cemetery.

Roy V. Conarroe
July 24, 1911 - January 25, 2006
He owned and operated "The Sunrise Resort" in Chetek, Wisconsin for many years
Roy V. Conarroe, 94, Chetek, Wisconsin, formerly of Stockwell, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at Barron Memorial Medical Center, Barron, Wisconsin. Born July 24, 1911, in Clarks Hill, he was the son of Hugh and Polly Johnson Conarroe. On June 12, 1941, in Lafayette, he married Geraldine R. Skinner, who survives. A graduate of Romney High School, Roy had played high school basketball. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. Roy farmed in the Stockwell area. He had also worked for over 23 years at Alcoa in the shipping department. He and his wife bought "The Sunrise Resort" in Chetek, Wisconsin in 1977 and had lived there ever since. Over the years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed going to the "local dances, " throwing darts with local church groups and stock car racing. Roy loved talking with people and had fun with "twice-a-day at the Chetek Cafe, with the shake of the day." You could say Roy was a "jack of all trades." Surviving with his wife of nearly 65 years are one daughter and son-in-law, Sandy & Ron Stegall, of Chetek; one son, Randy Conarroe, Chetek; five grandchildren, Catrina Wozniak, Seana (husband John)Mueller, Angela (husband Travis) Davis, and Carol & Randy Conarroe Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Wozniak, Cody & Brandon Mueller, and Jade Davis; and several extended family members and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Lee, Kenny and Don Conarroe.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2006 from 4-8 p.m. at the Burnham-Ours Funeral Home, Chetek, Wisconsin. A visitation will also be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2006, in Fisher-Loy Funeral Home, Stockwell. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Stockwell United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery, Larimore Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana.
