Gilbert Leven Gamble

Gilbert Gamble age 74 of Mooresville, Indiana died May 4, 2002 in The Waters of Martinsville. He was born January 23, 1928 in Mooresville, Indiana to Gilbert Grover & Nancy Anna Anderson Gamble.
Gilbert was a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in electrical engineering. He retired in 1990 after 37 years as an electrical engineer for Indianapolis Power & Light. He also was a registered land surveyor 35 years and owned Aardvark Services, Mooresville, Indiana. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a member of Mooresville VFW.
Gilbert is survived by wife; Dorothy May Ware Gamble of Mooresville, Indiana; sons Max G. Gamble of Monrovia, Indiana and Donald E. Gamble of Noblesville, Indiana; daughter Clara A. Gamble of Mooresville, Indiana and sister Katherine E. Gamble of Chicago, Illinois and 1 grandson Ryan C. Gamble.
Calling is Monday, May 6, 2002 from 2-9 p.m. at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, Indiana. Funeral Service 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Mooresville cemetery, Mooresville, Indiana. Rev. Jim Taylor will officiate.

Blanche "Shorty" Haught

Blanche "Shorty" Laidley Haught age 96 of Mooresville, Indiana died May 7, 2002 in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, Mooresville, Indiana. She was born April 12, 1906 in Meadeville, West Virginia to Homer & Lavine Wagner Laidley.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mooresville First United Methodist Church and Mooresville Order of the Eastern Star #260. She was the widow of Oral C. Haught whom she married March 1, 1925 and who died April 27, 1999. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack C. haught and a daughter Helen Jean Brewer.
She is survived by grandson Greg Haught of Columbus, Ohio and granddaughters Sussan Witte of Monrovia, Indiana and Paula J. Freeman of Mooresville, Indiana 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Calling is Wednesday, May 7, 2002 from 4-8 p.m. at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, Indiana and funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2002 at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Hall, Indiana. Rev. Gene Young will officiate.

Janet was a homemaker.
She is survived by mother Jean Pyle McLaughlin of Indianapolis, Indiana; husband Ralph E. Morris (Married August 17, 1957) of Camby, Indiana; son Scot Alan Morris of Indianapolis, Indiana; brother James McLaughlin of Ladoga, Indiana; sister Nancy Stillabower of Thorntown, Indiana and 2 grandchildren Tyler M. & Morgan E. Morris.

Howard "Woody" Woodrow Walker

Howard Woodrow "Woody" Walker age 87 of Mooresville, Indiana died July 3, 2001 in Robin Run Health Care Center, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born January 8, 1914 in Walesboro, Indiana to Daniel & Sarah E. Rambo Walker.
He retired in 1979 after 37 years as an Experimental Inspection Supervisor from Detroit Diesel Allison, Plant 8, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a member of the Monrovia Church of the Nazarene. We was the widower of Sarah Virginia DeBusk Walker whom he married November 15, 1936 and who died November 18, 1992.
He is survived by 5 sons; H. David Walker of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ronald L. Walker of Redlands, California, John S. Walker of Mooresville, Indiana, Donald W. Walker of Indianapolis, Indiana and Dalbert N. Walker of Hobe Sound, Florida, a daughter Deborah K. Moore of Camby, Indiana, brother Ben Walker of Terre Haute, Indiana and sister Mary Trussell of Eldorado Springs, Missouri. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, July 5, 2001 from 5-8 p.m. at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel. Funeral service is Friday, July 6, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at White Lick cemetery, Mooresville, Indiana and Pastor Sam Stewart will officiate.

Dorothy Jean Rike

Dorothy Jean Mann Rike age 72 of Brooklyn, Indiana died May 13, 2002 at her home of natural causes. She was born April 1, 1930 in Morgan County, Indiana to Merle Franklin & Helen Alpha Sawyers Mann.
She retired in 1992 after 5 years as a back-up cook at Blue & White Truck Stop, Monrovia, Indiana. Previously for 7 years she assembled alternators for automotive Armature, Mooresville, Indiana. She was the widow of Charles Edward Rike whom she married April 1, 1948 and who died November 26, 1979.
Dorothy is survived by sons: Roger Dale Rike of Centerton, Indiana; David Allen Rike of Mooresville, Indiana and Gary Lee Rike of Mooresville, Indiana; daughter Darlene Rae Zinn of Mooresville, Indiana and brother Merle R. "Sonny" Mann of Mooresville, Indiana; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Wednesday, May 15, 2002 from 5-8 p.m. at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, Indiana. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. May 16, 2002 at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in White Lick cemetery, Mooresville, Indiana. Pastor John Roten, II will officiate.

Charles Eugene Goodman

Charles Eugene Goodman, age 62 of Mooresville, Indiana died May 14, 2002 in Harbourside Healthcare, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born March 2, 1940 in Mt. Vernon, Indiana to William Oscar Goodman and Lydia Josephine Higginbottom Goodman Harper.
He was a licensed plumber for several years in Wyoming where he worked in the oil fields. He attended Grace Missionary Church, Camby, Indiana.
Charles is survived by his mother Lydia Josephine Higginbottom Goodman Harper of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; sons Paul & Thomas Goodman of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; daughter Ruth Ann Morris of Philpot, Kentucky; brothers Glen Goodman of Evansville, Indiana; Raymond goodman of Mt. Vernon, Indiana and Danny Goodman of Corydon, Indiana; sisters Rosemary A. Holtzclaw of Mooresville, Indiana; Leoda McWhirter & Betty Thomas both of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; Bonita Pettijohn of Ridgeway, Indiana and Verla Rivers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calling: None. Graveside service and burial Thursday, May 16, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in White Lick cemetery, Mooresville, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.

Robert Earl Miley

Robert retired in 2001 after 34 years as a supervisor for Olin Brass, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a member of Mooresville Masonic Lodge #78. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Charles W. Miley.
Robert is survived by companion; Donna M. Wolfe of Mooresville, Indiana; step-son Brian Shelton of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughters Kristine M. Kenworthy of Mooresville, Indiana and Wendy M. Conder of Indianapolis, Indiana; brothers Donald R. Miley of Mooresville, Indiana and Morris W. Miley of Quincy, Indiana and 7 grandchildren.

Maurice Dean Simpson

Maurice Dean Simpson, age 72, of Mooresville, Indiana died May 24, 2002 in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, Mooresville, Indiana. He was born September 13, 1929 in Morgan County, Indiana to Earl & Bess Lehr Simpson.
Maurice was a dock worker for C. F. Trucking Company, Indianapolis, Indiana for 17 years retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Mooresville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Maurice is survived by wife Pauline Earles Simpson (married May 19, 2002) of Mooresville, Indiana; son Wendell Simpson of Greenwood, Indiana; step-son Willy Ballard of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter Monica Craig of Strahm, Indiana; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by a son Gregory Mark Fraley of Mooresville, Indiana, Foster Sons: Billy Jones of Martinsville, Indiana, Timmy Lemaster of Indianapolis, Indiana, Curtis Lemaster of California, William Lemaster of Logansport, Indiana, Stevie Mattingly of Mooresville, Indiana, a brother Leonard King of Kentucky and two sisters Grace Donaldson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Roxie King of Pine Knot, Kentucky and 7 grandchildren.

Robert Cecil Van Winkle

Robert Cecil Van Winkle age 89 of Mooresville, Indiana died Wednesday, July 11, 2001 in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, Mooresville. Born December 6, 1911 in johnson County, Indiana to George Robert & Lanah F. Swickard Van Winkle.
He was a clerk for 16 years for the Mooresville Post Office prior to retirement. Previously he was a sawsmith for E. C. Atkins Saw Company, Indianapolis, Indiana and had served as a Republican Brooklyn Indiana Town Clerk. He was a 50 year member of the Brooklyn Masonic Lodge $471, member of the Brooklyn Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, and the 1st Christian Church of Mooresville. He was a graduate of Mooresville High School. He was the widower of Virginia Zenor Van Winkle.
Survivors include his wife Martha App Head Van Winkle, daughter Margaret O. Quillen, step-daughters; Barbara L. Ward, Linda L. Sprague, brother Carl H. Van Winkle and sister Isabel Van Hoy, 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers; Sylvan L. Van Winkle, Bill Van Winkle, Edward Gail Van Winkle & Charles Van Winkle, sisters; Lodema Stout, Hilda Simpson & Mary Jo Van Winkle.
Calling will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2001 in Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, Indiana and the funeral service will be Friday, July 13, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Frances Mary Testerman

Frances Mary Weiler Testerman, age 67 of Brownsburg, Indiana formerly of Mooresville, Indiana died July 19, 2002 in Community South Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born March 2, 1935 in Richardton, North Dakota to John L. & Eva Mary (Senn) Weiler.
Frances enjoyed gardening. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Maurice Earl Testerman (passed away September 28, 1995) whom she married April 13, 1955 and a brother Steve Weiler.
Survivors include a son John S. Testerman of Brownsburg, Indiana; brothers Sonny Feller of Washington, Robert Roth & Jerry Weiler both of North Dakota; sisters Lorraine Sutton of Georgia and Betty Schmidt of North Dakota.
Calling Monday, July 22, 2002 from 5-8 p.m. at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, Indiana. Funeral Service Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Cremation is to follow the funeral service.
