Jeremy Allen Boyles, age 16, of 511 East Jackson Street, Columbia City, IN died at 10:36 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2002 at the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on August 7, 1985 in Columbia City, IN to Douglas Allen and Brenda Kay (Knuckles) Boyles.

Jeremy has spent his entire lifetime in Whitley County and he was a former high school student and loved music.

He is survived by his mother, Brenda Kay (John Clark) Steele of Columbia City, IN; father, Douglas Allen (Amy S.) Boyles of Fort Wayne, IN; 2 brothers, Tristan Eugene Boyles of Fort Wayne, IN and Gary Allen Woodard, Jr. of South Whitley, IN; grandparents, Carl E. "Bud" and Alice Knuckles of South Whitley, IN and Earl and Barbara Jean Axson of Fort Wayne, IN; 1 aunt, Carla Couch of South Carolina and 1 uncle, Leo A. Knuckles of Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving are his best friend, Jamie L. Weeks of Columbia City, IN and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Hawks of the Chapel, Fort Wayne, IN officiating. Burial will be at the South Park Annex cemetery, Columbia City, IN. Memorials to the donor's choice.

Tricia Vilches, age 55, of 98 West Rue Dijon, Columbia City, IN 46725 was pronounced dead at 7:10 am on Thursday, May 23, 2002 at the scene of a car train accident which occured at 6:33 a.m. on Washington Road, rural Whitley County, IN.

She was born on February 13, 1947 in Chicago, Cook County, IL to Albert Uno Selander and Margaret Josephine Herde Selander. Tricia was reared in Northlake, IL and later moved to Fox Lake and Gurney, IL. She moved to Columbia City, IN in 1998. She graduated from Leyden High School in Northlake, Illinois and received her RN license from Illinois Masonic School of Nursing, Chicago, IL. She was a member of the American Organization of Registered Nurses and the American Sewing Guild. She was an avid seamtress and loved her 2 very special dogs Llopsy and Chiquita.

She married Mariano Rodriguez Vilches on June 1, 1985 in Waukegan, IL.

She is survived by her husband, Mariano Rodriguez Vilches, Columbia City, IN; daughter Tracy A. (Anthony) Cecola, San Jose, CA; son, Bobby Enger, Columbia City, IN; Mike T. (Gina) Vilches, Northfield, IL and Lisa (Terry) Chesser, Lindenhurst, IL; 4 grandchildren, 1 brother Donald Albert (Gretchen) Selander, Chisago City, MN and 1 sister Peggy (Alvin) Rosebear, Plymouth, MN. Also several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at the DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Also visitation will be held from 4-7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002 at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 15000 Wadsworth Road, Wadsworth, IL 60002 with funeral services following at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Louis Abbound officiating. There will be a private family committal service and interment on Friday, May 31, 2002 at the Highland Memorial cemetery, Interstate 120 and Hunt Club Road, Waukegan, IL with a Deacon from the St. Patrick's Catholic Church officiating. Memorials may be given in memory of Tricia to the donor's choice.

Celia "Sally" Rivera, age 74, of 382 N. Walnut Street, Columbia City, IN, died at 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday May 22, 2002 at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. She was born in Guadalupe Co., New Braunfels, TX on August 04, 1927 to Rafael and Josefa (Dias) Martinez.

She was educated and resided in Texas until 1948 when she moved to Columbia City. She was married to Daniel Rosas Torres October, 1948 in Eagle Pass, Texas. Her second marriage was to Lino Rivera on December 12, 1981 in Columbia City. Her past employers were Chamberlain Products, South Whitley, IN and Viking Inc., Columbia City, IN.

She is survived by her husband, Lino Rivera of Columbia City, IN; one son, Oscar (Bonnie) Torres of Columbia City, IN; three daughters, Gloria (Keith) Kesling, and Aelvia (Walter) Barnes both of Columbia City, IN, and Irene (Daniel) Strong of Urbana, OH; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 12 Brothers & Sisters.

Her parents, four brothers and sisters, and step-mother, Julia E. Martinez, have preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held on May 23, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Calling will also be held one hour before the 10:30 a.m. funeral mass at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 S. Line Street, Columbia City, IN, on May 24, 2002, with Father Dale Baughman officiating. Burial will be at the St. Paul of the Cross Catholic cemetery, Columbia City, IN. Memorials may be made in Mrs. River'a memory to the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Survivors include her parents, two brothers, Maddison M. and Cameron J. Evans; Grandparents, Rick and Tammy Mills, Larwill, IN and Robert and Barbara Evans, Columbia City, IN. Great-Grandparents are LaVan and Barb Mills, Montpelier, IN and Frank Rice, Sr., Upland, IN.

A great-grandmother, Ruth Sitton, Arcola, IN, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002, at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Thurow, Troy Presbyterian Church officiating. Gladys Pauline "Polly" Honeick, age 81, of 904 Blue River Drive, Columbia City, IN 46725 died at 9:58 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2002 at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. She had been in failing health for the past few months.

She was born on July 27, 1920 to Ray H. and Amanda Marie (Thomas) Kohart. As a child she lived in several locations, however, from 1935 to 1962 she resided in Fort Wayne, IN and has resided in Columbia City, IN since 1962. She attended South Side High School, Fort Wayne, IN.

She worked at Woolworth's Department Store in Fort Wayne, IN for 4 years and then about 2 years at General Electric, Fort Wayne, however, during her married lifetime she was a homemaker and was well known in the area as a seamstress working out of her home. She married Jack Russell Honeick in Angola, IN on October 19, 1957.

She is survived by one son, Robert R. (Sally) Gable of Grand Rapids, MI and 5 daughters, Vicki L (Jeffrey) Schenher of Churubusco, IN; D. Jayne (Rob) Monsipapa of Mesa, AZ; Nancy A. Gilbert, Carol A. Oliver and Laura (Bud) Snyder all of Columbia City, IN; 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Jane Brink of Findlay, OH.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray H. and Amanda Marie Thomas Kohart and her husband Jack Russell Honeick who died in 1980.

Public visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. A private family rosary service will be held earlier Tuesday morning. Public funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with Nancy Gilbert officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Grove (Compton) cemetery, rural Columbia City, IN. Memorial bequests may be given in Mrs. Honeick's memory to the Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice which operates the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Marjorie E. King, age 83, 2058 E. Wilcken Road, Columbia City, IN, died on Wednesday May 08, 2002 at 3:57 a.m. at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on March 5, 1919, to Dana F. and Audrey (Darby) Hunt in Converse, Howard County, IN.

She graduated from Fairmount High School with the Class of 1937. She was married to Willard Rex King who passed away in 1997. Mrs. King was previously employed in a pro-golf shop, a homemaker and a seamstress. She has resided in Converse, Fort Wayne, and Alexandria, IN. In 1973 she moved to Lakeland, FL, and she moved to Columbia City in 2001. Her church membership was with Crystal Lake United Methodist Church, Lakeland, FL.

Surviving are three sons, James Allen King, Las Vegas, NV, Larry Rex King, Columbia City, IN, and Jerry Lee King, Lakeland, FL; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one sister, Velma (Gene) Reust, Huntington, IN.

Her parents, husband, one brother, Barney Hunt, and one grandson, Greg, preceded her in death.

Both visitation and the funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2002 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Drive, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Pastor John Cummings, Community Bible Church, Columbia City, will be officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Lakeland Memorial Gardens, Lakeland, FL. Memorial bequests are to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Helen Ellen Eberhard, age 85, formerly of Columbia City, IN and since December 1997 she has resided in southern California near her children, died at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, April 28, 2002 at the Corona Regional Medical Center, 800 South Main Street, Corona, CA.

She was born on March 1, 1917 to LeRoy Ira and Cora May (Sroufe) Baker. She graduated from South Whitley High School with the Class of 1936. Mrs. Eberhard was reared in Washington Township, Whitley County, Mishawaka and South Whitley, IN. In 1955 she moved from Larwill, IN to Los Angleses, CA and in 1969 until 1978 she resided back in Columbia City then returned to Norwalk, CA in 1978 and lived there until 1983 when she came back to Whitley County and resided on South Columbia Parkway, Columbia City, IN until her health failed and she moved in 1998 to California to be near her children.

She married Carl L. Eberhard on April 9, 1939 in North Manchester, IN by the late Rev. Noah C. McCoy of the United Brethren Church. As a young lady she was employed at the former Blue Bell, Inc. in Columbia CIty. She later was employed by the former Gripco Fasteners, South Whitley, IN and while she lived in California she worked as a cafeteria manager for the Los Angeles Public Schools. She retired in 1983 when she moved back to Columbia City.

Her memberships include a charter membership to the Columbia City Women of the Moose, former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and member of the auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1906, Columbia City.

She is survived by 1 son, Carl LeRoy (Marla) Eberhard, II of Rialto, CA; 1 daughter, Sue Ellen Kobuki of Tustin, CA. 3 grandsons, Carl LeRoy Eberhard III, Steven Eberhard and Jeffery Kobuki; 1 grand daughter Jennifer Kobuki and 1 sister, Annabelle Perkins of Pierceton, IN.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl LeRoy Eberhard and 2 brothers Harold O. Baker and Ralph E. Baker who died a few hours before her death.

She and her brother's joint visitation will be held from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at the DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN, with joint funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2002 at the funeral home with Pastor Ronald C. Scharfe of the Blue River Community Church, Columbia City, IN and Pastor Curtiss Johnson retired pastor of the Community Bible Church, Columbia City, IN. Mrs. Eberhards's graveside services will be held first at South Park cemetery Annex, Columbia City, IN and immediately following her interment the graveside service for Mr. Baker will be held at South Whitley cemetery, South Whitley, IN.

Twilight memorial services will be conducted by the auxiliary members of both the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge and Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #1906 at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at the funeral home. Memorial bequest may be given in Mrs. Eberhard's memory to the Parkview Whitley Home Health Care and Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Michael Kent Coulter, age 53, of 4905 East Duffin Street, Columbia City, IN 46725, died on Friday, March 22, 2002 at 3:00 p.m at his residence. He had been in failing health for the past 8 months. He was born on December 20, 1948 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, IN to Herschel Evan and Helen Louise (LaRue) Coulter. He was reared in Whitley County and spent his entire lifetime here. He graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1967 and served with the United States Army in Vietnam from 1968 until 1970.

He married Linda Lou McClure on February 8, 1969 in Columbia City, IN by the late Pastor Graham L. Kleespie. He was employed at Dana Weatherhead Tool and retired after 34 years of service. He was currently employed at Quality Inspection and Gauge, Columbia City, IN.

He was a member of Columbia City American Legion Post #98 and the Whitley County Coon Hunters Association.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Lou Coulter, Columbia City, IN; a daughter, Megan Renee Coulter, Columbia City; three sisters Lois (Carl) Downing, Carol (Stephen) Kosteck, and Joy (Walter) Crowder all from Columbia City; one brother, Russell Lynn Coulter, Columbia City; one step-sister, Deloris Messman, Fremont, IN, and two step-brothers, LeRoy Coulter and Paul Coulter, Columbia City, IN; and one grandson, Jordan Michael Coulter, Churubusco, IN.

He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Edward Coulter, on July 23, 2001, a sister, Linda Clifford, and his parents.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2002 from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN 46725. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Faucett of New Hope Wesleyan Church, Columbia City, IN, officiating. Burial will be at the Hope Lutheran cemetery, Union Township, Coesse, immediately following the funeral service with graveside military rites being conducted by the American Legion Post #98. Memorial bequests may be made to donor's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Lu B. Ikerd, 67, of 5837 South Woodland Lane, Sellers Lake, Warsaw, IN 46580 died at 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2002 at her son's home. She was born in West Unity, OH on December 30, 1934 to Charles and Nellie (Flory) Zuver.

She attended school in West Unity, OH and then she married Donald C. Ikerd on March 26, 1954 in Biloxi, Mississippi. After being reared in Ohio she lived in Biloxi, MS, Sharon, PA, Bellville, MI, Los Angeles County, CA, back to West Unity, OH and then she moved to New Haven, IN for 18 years and then lived short periods of time in Arizona, California and then for the past 15 years she has lived at her Seller's Lake home. She was a member of the Pierceton American Legion Post #258 Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Donald C. Ikerd of Warsaw, IN. 2 sons, Joseph W. Ikerd of New Haven, IN and Jeffery W. (Susan) Ikerd of Columbia City, IN. 2 daughters, Jackie F. (David) Conser and Connie R. Ikerd both of Fort Wayne, IN. 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. 2 sisters Betty Renard of West Unity, OH and Blanche Roe of Adrian, MI. 1 brother, Bill Zuver of Washington, PA.

She is preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers, Paul, Charles "Brownie", Guy and Joe Zuver and one great-granddughter Destiny Ikerd.

Visitation will be after noon Monday, February 11, 2002 until the hour of the funeral services which will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN with Pastor John Cummings of the Community Bible Church, officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
