Robert C. Lichtsinn, 77, of Spencerville, a retired foreman, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne.

The Fort Wayne native retired in 1981 from Dana. He attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church and was a World War II veteran. Surviving are daughters Nancy A. Lichtsinn-Fish of South Bend and Nona A. Lichtsinn-Hill of Columbia City; a son, Ned A. of Spencerville; brothers William and Lawrence Sr., both of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. His wife, Lois M., and two sisters preceded him in death. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home, Spencerville, with calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Leo Memorial Park cemetery, Leo-Cedarville. Memorials are to DeKalb Memorial Hospice.

Enid K. Sprunger
Berne - 1930-2002

Enid K. Sprunger, 72, of rural Berne, a member of First Mennonite Church, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at Adams County Memorial Hospital.

The Adams County native had worked for First Bank of Berne for 42 years. Surviving are a stepson, Richard of Berne; stepdaughters Joy Habegger of Morton, Ill., and Marilyn Fox of Berne; brothers Steven Sprunger of Berne and Lynn Sprunger of Jackson, Mich.; a sister, Jane Mann of Portland; nine stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands Robert Bailey and Ivan Sprunger. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Mennonite Church Chapel, Berne, with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne. Burial will be at Evangelical Mennonite Church cemetery, Berne. Memorials are to the First Mennonite Church missions.

Victoria, Texas - 1952-2002

Ricardo Villalon, 50, of Victoria, Texas, a U.S. Army veteran, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, in Victoria.

"In loving memory of our son and brother who served his country with the military police." The Elsa, Texas, native worked as a handyman. His hobby was fishing. Surviving are his mother, Dora Villalon of Fort Wayne; brothers Jose of Marblehead, Ohio, Hector of Green Springs, Ohio, and Rogelie, Oscar and Gilbert, all of Sandusky, Ohio; and sisters Martina Martinez of Hollister, Calif., and Josephine Pena of Fort Wayne. Memorial Mass is 11 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the family residence, 623 Chestnut Hills Parkway, Fort Wayne. Memorials are to the family.

Hicksville, Ohio - 1951-2002

LaMar R. Gramling, 50, of Hicksville, Ohio, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at home.

The Garrett, Ind., native worked for Dietrichs Industries in Hicksville. Surviving are sons Joel of Pleasant Lake, Ind., and Chad of Auburn, Ind.; brothers Craig and Kevin, both of Auburn, Ind.; and sisters LaDonna Farrington of Ashley, Ind., and Carma Gaier of Auburn, Ind. Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Ashley United Methodist Church, Ashley, Ind., with calling one hour before services. Burial will be at Circle Hill cemetery, Hudson, Ind. Memorials are to the church.

Francis Rueben "Frank" Victor Marsdon
Wyandotte, Mich. - 1912-2002

Francis Rueben "Frank" Victor Marsdon, 89, of Wyandotte, Mich., died Saturday, March 2, 2002, in Wyandotte.

"He will be missed by all his family and friends." The England native was a mason and champion archer. He served in the Royal Navy and was a World War II veteran. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Florence; a sister, Doris Wilson of Canada; and brothers Victore and Charles, both of England. His daughter, Ann, preceded him in death. Services were held March 6 at R.J. Nixon Funeral Home, Wyandotte.

Waterloo - 1939-2002

James F. Harper, 63, of Waterloo, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 566 in Auburn, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

The Auburn native retired in 2001 from Eton Corp. in Auburn after 28 years of service. He was a member of Auburn American Legion Post 97 and a U.S. Army veteran. Surviving are a son, Daniel J. of Auburn; a daughter, Kathie J. Harper of Waterloo; his mother, Naomi Harper of Auburn; brothers Robert of Hudson and Michael of Thornton, Colo.; and two grandchildren. His wife, Karen D., preceded him in death. Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo, with calling from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Woodlawn cemetery, Auburn. Memorials are to Riley Hospital for Children.

Spring Arbor, Mich. - 1915-2002

Ruby Kathryn Zimmerman Richey, 86, of Spring Arbor, Mich., and formerly of Fort Wayne, died Sunday, April 7, 2002, in Spring Arbor.

The Saskatchewan, Canada, native retired in 1975 from Sears Roebuck Co. after 20 years of service. She was a member of Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving are sons George of Jackson, David of Columbia City, Ind., and Robert of Fairfax, Va.; sisters Martha Sommers of Berne, Ind., Emma Grile of Paoli, Ind., and Edna Guyot of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Her husband, George E., preceded her in death. Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with calling from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Lindenwood cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials are to WGM American Indians Field in Peoria, Ariz., or Hospice of Jackson and Oaklawn, Mich.

Decatur - 1935-2002

Honora R. Custer, 66, of Decatur, a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at home.

The Decatur native was a homemaker, had worked for General Electric Co. and was a member of the Rosary Society. Surviving are sons Anthony B. and Matthew R., both of Decatur; daughters Kathleen R. Peterson of Columbus, Dana L. Hackman of Decatur and Mollie B. Wilson of Evansville; brothers Arthur L., Eugene A., Richard E., Robert F. and Roger D. Braun, all of Decatur, Floyd C. Braun of Hudson, Mich., and Paul M. Braun of Fort Wayne; a sister, Marcyle A. Gibson of Monroeville; and seven grandchildren. A son, Anthony P., preceded her in death. Prayer services at 9:20 a.m. Saturday at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, precede Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Decatur. Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday with a 3:30 p.m. rosary service at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery, Decatur. Memorials are to St. Joseph School or Adams County Community Foundation Cancer Fund.

The McKinney, Texas, native was also a licensed barber and member of Turner Chapel AME Church, where he was a member of Senior Choir and a Sunday school teacher. Surviving are his wife, Fannie; daughters Cynthia Noble of Falls Church, Va., Sheila Branch and Charmaine McCowan, both of Sacramento, Calif., and Tamika McCowan of Indianapolis; a brother, Leslie of McKinney, Texas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Turner Chapel AME Church, 836 E. Jefferson Blvd., with calling one hour before services. Burial will be at Concordia cemetery Gardens. Memorials are to the church.

Infant Logan M. Fox of Fort Wayne, a Fort Wayne native, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at Parkview Hospital.

Surviving are his parents, Chad and Allyson of Fort Wayne; a sister, Shelby at home; grandparents Jim and Jill Ellison, Ed and Janet Fox, and Paul and Luray Riggle, all of Fort Wayne; and great-grandparents Bill and Joanne Robertson of Fort Wayne. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Friday at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6600 Covington Road.

Wellard A. Hadley, 69, of Leo-Cedarville, a retired captain with the Allen County Sheriff's Department, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital. The Fort Wayne native retired in 1995 after 40 years of service and was owner/operator of Leo Recreation Bowling Center from 1971 to 1980. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 47, Indiana Guard Reserve and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Surviving are his wife, Norma; daughters Robyn Christen of Oxford, Mich., Susan T. Burke of Fort Wayne and Lisa Hadley of Laguna Beach, Calif.; a son, Timothy of Fort Wayne; a sister, Louise Henley of Lansing, Mich.; and four grandchildren. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 12640 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road. Burial with graveside services by the Allen County Sheriff's Department will be at Covington Memorial Gardens. The Penfield, Ill., native was retired from the Chuckles Candy Co. in Danville, Ill., after 40 years of service. Surviving are a sister, Josephine Taber of Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Delbert, preceded her in death. Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville, Ill., with calling one hour before services. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery, Danville.

Larry W. Repine, 68, of Fort Wayne, a retired inspector, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at home. "He really enjoyed fly fishing and NASCAR racing." The Fort Wayne native retired in 1984 from International Harvester Co. after 30 years of service, was inducted into the Baer Field Raceway Hall of Fame and was owner/chief mechanic of the stock car division. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Surviving are his wife, Arlene; a son, Michael A. of Fort Wayne; a brother, David of New Haven; and sisters Joyce Powell of Hixon, Tenn., and Janice Panyard of Fort Wayne. Memorial services are 2 p.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with calling one hour before services. Memorials are to the American Heart Association or Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
