Mary K. Franson, 84

GOODLAND -- Mary Katherine Franson, 84, a former Goodland resident, died at 5:50 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at Madonna Manor in Villa Hills, Ky.

Born Feb. 2, 1921, in Goodland, she was a 1939 graduate of Goodland High School.

She married Oscar Franson on May 28, 1946, in Goodland. He died May 29, 1995.

Mrs. Franson was the co-owner and bookkeeper of Franson Electric and True Value Hardware in Goodland for 41 years. She was a member of the Goodland Fireman's Auxiliary and the former Society of Foresters.

She was an avid reader and she enjoyed traveling and flowers.

Surviving are two sons, James D. Franson (wife: Leslie) of Ellicott City, Md., and David C. Franson (wife: Jennifer Smith) of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two daughters, Susan E. Franson of Fort Wright, Ky., and Nancy M. Franson (husband: Norman Goodman) of Collegeville, Pa.; a brother, retired Col. Edmund G. Reuter of Clearwater, Fla.; and three sisters, Dolores Stone (husband: Milton) of Lafayette, Eileen Emond of Fowler and Ruth Reuter of Goodland.

Rowland F. McCloud, 88

MONTICELLO -- Rowland F. McCloud, 88, of Monticello, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at White County Memorial Hospital.

Born Nov. 27, 1916, in Liberty Township, White County, he had lived in White and Carroll counties all of his life. He married Helen L. Dulin on Sept. 7, 1943, in Albuquerque, N.M., and she survives.

He had worked as a foreman at the old Monticello RCA Plant for 30 years, retiring in 1976. A veteran of the Army Air Corps, he served in China, during World War II.

Mr. McCloud was a member and deacon of Oak Grove Christian Church in rural Carroll County and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion posts, both in Monticello.

He also was a member of Four Seasons Round/Square Dance Club in Monticello the Promenaders Round/Square Dance Club in Port Charlotte, Fla., and Twin Lakes Senior Citizens. His hobby was woodworking.

Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Sharon Haygood (husband: James), Elaine Holmes (husband: Clarence "Butch") and Judy Willoughby (husband: David), and two sisters, Letha Swartz and Opal Alma (husband: Chuck), all of Monticello.

Services are Wednesday in Monticello.

Iris L. Gull, 82

RENSSELAER -- Iris Lorene Gull, 82, of 1646 N. Ireland, died at 6:08 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at Jasper County Hospital. She had been in ill health for the past month.

Born April 9, 1923, in Rensselaer, she was a 1941 graduate of Rensselaer High School and a life resident.

Mrs. Gull worked as the resident director at Culver Girls Academy in Culver for several years, retiring in 1991.

She was affiliated with St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Rensselaer.

Surviving are four daughters, Deanna Fidrych (husband: Stan) of Allentown, Pa., Barbara Mincer (husband: Mark) of Seattle, Wash.; Rebecca Wiener (husband: Dirk) and Michele Keys (husband: James), both of Rensselaer; two sons, Alan Gull (wife: Fran) of Fort Wayne and Charles Gull (wife: Anne) of Rensselaer; and a brother, Charles Stath (wife: June) of Rensselaer.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Service there 10 a.m. Saturday with interment to follow at Weston Cemetery. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Priscilla Gull of Holden, Mass.; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Carl and Elsie Selby Stath; a brother, Robert Stath; and a son, Michael V. Gull. The family suggests memorials be made to Jasper County Library in lieu of flowers.

Joetta P. Ishmiel, 54

BOSWELL -- Joetta P. Ishmiel, 54, of Boswell, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at her residence.

No further information was available.

Angela Enriques Rosas

BURNETTSVILLE -- Angela Catherine Wood Enriques Rosas, 35, of Burnettsville, died unexpectedly at 5:36 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at Home Hospital in Lafayette.

Born April 7, 1970, in Lafayette, she attended Twin Lakes schools and received her Graduation Equivalency Diploma in 1992.

She married Jesus Enriques Rosas on Aug. 11, 2001, in Logansport, and he survives.

Mrs. Enriques Rosas was employed at the Logansport State Hospital, working on the Dodd's Unit as a qualified medical assistant for the past six years.

She enjoyed crocheting and collecting teddy bears.

Surviving with her husband are a son, Tony Wood of Burnettsville; her mother, Joan Johnson of Burnettsville; her father and stepmother, John and Karen Wood of Monticello; and two sisters, Linda Yerk of Burnettsville and Dusty Schodrof of Lake Cicott.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi. Graveside service 11 a.m. Saturday at Davis Cemetery in Burnettsville, Pastor James Sparks officiating. Surviving are her grandmother, Hazel Thomas of Burnettsville; 2 nieces, 1 nephew and 1 great-niece.

Elizabeth J. Worth, 83

Elizabeth Janice Luther Worth, 83, died of natural causes Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, in her West Lafayette home.

Born Nov. 18, 1921, in Spring Valley, Ill., she graduated from Hall Township High School in Illinois in 1938, LaSalle-Peru-Oglesby Junior College in Illinois in 1940 and received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Illinois in 1942.

She married Willard Worth in 1946, following his return from Europe as a captain in the Army. He preceded her in death in 1976.

Mrs. Worth worked for American Airlines in Chicago prior to moving to Lafayette in 1953. She worked at Indiana Veteran's Home in West Lafayette for seven years following the death of her husband.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Worth Everett (husband: Rick) of Denville, N.J., and Barbara Worth Ratner (husband: Gary) of Atlanta.

Graveside memorial service 11 a.m. Sunday at the Peru Cemetery in Peru, Ill. We promise not to read her poetry. She took pride in her opinions, her daughters and grandchildren, her skill at Latin, typing and shorthand (120 words per minute), and her home, which was designed by her husband. Surviving are her grandchildren, Laura Everett of Boston, Kate Everett of Denville, N.J., and Max Eddy of Troy, MI. Preceded by a daughter, Sarah Eddy. Hurst Funeral Home, IL (815-223-0380) is in charge of arrangements.

Janet L. Collette, 79

Janet L. Collette, 79, formerly of West Lafayette, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at her home.

She was born in Cleveland and attended Purdue University. She had also resided in Pennsylvania, New York, Wisconsin and Illinois.

Mrs. Collette was an active member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Mequon, Wis., working as a volunteer in accounting for approximately 40 years. She also volunteered at the Weyenberg Library of Mequon-Thiensville in Wisconsin for approximately 40 years.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, David Walton Collette; a daughter, Janine Collette; three sons, Jeff Collette (wife: Ann) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Thomas Collette (wife: Renee) of East Troy, Wis., and John Collette (wife: Marion) of Hesperia, Calif.; and two sisters, Viola White of Raleigh, N.C., and Arline Hanson (husband: John) of Fort Lauderdale.

Services will be held at a later date in Wisconsin.

Eileen R. Park, 77

CHALMERS -- Eileen R. Park, 77, of Chalmers, died at 8 a.m. Sunday, August 21, 2005, at St. Mary Healthcare after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Born Oct. 12, 1927, in Chalmers, she was a life resident of the rural Chalmers area, graduating from Chalmers High School in 1945.

Her first marriage was to Kenny Moore in 1947, and he preceded her in death in 1966. She married Don Park on Dec. 31, 1969, in Chalmers, and he survives.

Mrs. Park was retired from State Farm where she worked at the regional office in West Lafayette for 22 years.

She and her husband were members of the Chalmers Community Church for more than 50 years. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society in Ocala, Fla., where she and her husband wintered.

Mrs. Park enjoyed flowers and sports, especially high school football.

Surviving with her husband are five children, Roy Moore (companion: Jeanie) of Lafayette, Darlene Gentry of Decatur, Ill., Donella Carter (husband: Jerry) of Brookston, Brad Park (wife: Jackie) of Goshen and Dudley Park (wife: Pam) of Lebanon; three sisters, Florence Payne of Fort Wayne, Betty Byroads of Monon and Mary Ann Cornett of Otterbein; and two brothers, Kenneth Shoemaker (wife: Pat) of Lafayette and Paul Shoemaker (wife: Phyllis) of Chalmers.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home, Brookston. Service there 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment Chalmers Community Cemetery. Eileen enjoyed interacting with people very much. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Ruth Naugle Shoemaker; a brother Perry Shoemaker; and a sister, Margaret Conkright. Donations may be made in her memory to the Chalmers Community Cemetery either at the funeral home or by mail to Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home, PO Box 509, Brookston, IN 47923.

Darlene Bushue, 69

COVINGTON -- Darlene Bushue, 69, died at 2:10 a. m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at the home of her daughter.

She was born April 19, 1936, near Crawfordsville, and attended Kingman Schools. She was a former resident of Kingman and Indianapolis, moving to rural Covington in 1958.

Her first marriage was to Kenneth Scott in 1952, and he died in 1955. She married Melvin L. Bushue on Oct. 4, 1958, in Covington, and he died Feb. 25, 2003.

Mrs. Bushue was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving are four children, Janice Kay Byers (husband: Michael), James Scott (wife: Kim) and Richard Bushue (wife: Glenda), all of Covington, and Donna Hill (husband: Paul) of Danville, Ill.; a brother Richard Stultz (wife: Rosemary) of Waveland; and two sisters, Delores Maudlin of Veedersburg, and Linda Wills of New Ross.

Services are Tuesday in Covington.
