TIOSA -- Annabelle Susan Hart, 80, of Tiosa, died at 8:45 a.m., Sunday, April 3, 2011 at her
residence.
She is survived by her sons: Ed (Susan) Hart of Warsaw, Rick (Susan) Hart of Mentone, and Jim
(Cindy) Hart of Elkhart; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth Gelbaugh;
and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation took place from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 5 and one hour prior to services Wednesday
at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.
Funeral services took place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 6 at the funeral home.
Burial followed at the Richland Center IOOF cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Talma United Methodist Church.

Arlene Marie Ross
NORTH LIBERTY -- Arlene Marie Ross, 96, died April 3, 2011 at Memorial Hospital, South
Bend.
She is survived by her children: Barbara Mangun of Plymouth, Logan (Susan) Ross of North
Liberty, and Linda (Ron) Burkholder of Sebring, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren;
22 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Jacobson, of Plymouth.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 6 at A.M. Manuel Funeral Home,
North Liberty.
Graveside services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7 at the Westlawn cemetery, North
Liberty.

Chester A. Shuster
ETNA GREEN -- Chester A. Shuster, 64, of Etna Green, died Sunday, April 3 at Kosciusko
community Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Tonya; children: James Shuster of Warsaw, Doug Shuster, and
Chester (Kelly) Shuster, all of Marion, Ohio, Samantha Shuster of Griffith, Ind., Angie (Justin)
Reynolds of Bourbon, and Elizabeth Moore and Miranda Scarberry, both of Warsaw; 23
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at the Deaton-Clemens Funeral
Home at 115 S. Main Street, Bourbon, Ind.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Chester A. Shuster Memorial Fund at PNC Bank.

Janet Sue Kiefer
BREMEN -- Janet Sue Kiefer, 75, of Bremen, passed away April 4, 2011 at 9:35 am at Millers
Merry Manor in Wakarusa.
Janet was born Feb. 14, 1936 in Bremen to Olen and Hazel (Senff) Ernsberger. She married
Henry 'Hank' Kiefer on Sept. 16, 1956, he survives.
Janet was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and an Auxiliary Member of
Gideon’s International, Wawasee Camp. She was the former director of the preschool at St
Paul’s and was also former director of La Leche League International. Janet loved spending time
with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be
missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, three sons, John (Sandy) Kiefer, Bonfield, Ill., Jim
(Melody) Kiefer, East Lansing, Mich. And David (Beth) Kiefer, Birmingham, Mich. Also surviving
are seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Stephen Michael Kiefer and a brother, Jack
Ernsberger.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at 3 p.m. at St Paul’s Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Bremen.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Gideon’s
International, Wawasee Camp, P.O. Box 101, Syracuse, IN 46567.
Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, is in charge of arrangements.

Forrest W. Pfeiffer
ROCHESTER -- Forrest W. Pfeiffer, 92, of Rochester, died at 9:40 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2011
at his residence.
He is survived by a son, Louis Pfeiffer of Rochester; sister, Betty Thornburg of Mishawaka; two
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200
W. 18th St., Rochester.
Burial will follow in the Rochester IOOF cemetery.

Harold Eshelman
BREMEN -- Harold Eshelman, 86, of Bremen, formerly of South Bend, died at 4:35 p.m. April 5,
2011 at in Bremen Health Care.
He is survived by sisters: Clara Webb of Osceola, and Betty Richards, Patricia Promroy, Mary
Jones, Phyllis Northcutt, and Cindy Keyser, all of South Bend; two brothers, Richard Shank of
Jacksonville, Fla. And Thomas Shank of Elkhart; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16 at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. aSaturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bremen Health Care.

Joe B. Stacy
NORTH MANCHESTER -- Joe B. Stacy, 78, of North Manchester, died at 9:45 a.m.
Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
He is survived by his wife, Marvelene; sons: M. Joe (Rita) Stacy of North Manchester, Jerry
(Tina) Stacy of Fort Wayne, and Jeremy (Alicia) Stacy of Indianapolis; daughter, Jennifer Stacy
of Huntington; brothers, Perry Stacy of Lafayette and Paul Stacy of Knox; sisters, Gladys Stacy
of LaPorte and Francis (Don) Keister of Plymouth; five grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 8 at McKee Mortuary, 1401 S.R. #114 W.,
North Manchester.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at the mortuary.
Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Fletcher cemetery, Hamlet.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 6415 Castleway W.
Drive, Suite #114, Indianapolis, IN, 46250.

Duane Frank Brown
PLYMOUTH -- Duane Frank Brown, age 69, of Mc Liver Drive, Plymouth, passed away at 10
p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011, at his home, following a brief illness.
Duane was born Nov. 30, 1941, in South Bend, to Lewis C. and Frances C. (Kolanda) Brown.
Duane received his parochial education at St. Stanislaus B.M. Parish and graduated from
Central Senior High School in 1959.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962 and was a true
patriot. Duane was also highly proud of his Polish heritage and enjoyed family gatherings and
reminiscing about Polish weddings and all the festivities. Duane retired from Allied Signal
(Honeywell) in 1996 and spent his retirement years enjoying trips to the Blue Chip Casino,
golfing, bird watching, and camping at the Beech Grove Campground in Marcellus, Mich.
Duane is survived by his companion of 13 years, Pamela J. Schaefer-Mabry of Plymouth; Pam’s
mother, Martha A. Schaefer of Plymouth; his former wife, Carol Brown and their children: Susan
M. (Jeff) Robinson of Dowagiac, Mich., Janine (Troy) Deshone of Elkhart, Ind., Duane Lewis
Brown of Osceola, Ind., Debbie F. (Shane) Duncan of Elkhart, Eric E. (Tina) Brown of South
Bend, Ind., Amanda R. (Daniel) Kalmar of Elkhart, and Sara A. (Mark) Million of Mishawaka,
Ind.; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Duane was preceded in death by his parents;
his sister, Jacquelyn M. Flowers; and his companion’s father, Louis F. Schaefer.
Memorial gifts many be given to the choice of the donor.

Marianna Lee Buysse
SOUTH BEND -- Marianna Lee Buysse, 87, of Miami Road, South Bend, passed away, Friday,
April 8, 2011, at her home.
Marianna was born April 4, 1924, in Plymouth, to Roscoe G. and Ida (Gurthet) Lee. She was a
graduate of Plymouth High School, in the Class of 1942, and also a graduate of Purdue
University. Marianna was a school teacher in the LaPaz and South Bend School Systems.
Marianna became the bride of Robert H. Buysse in August of 1947, in South Bend. Robert
preceded her in death June 4, 1992.
She is survived by her nephews, David W. Lee of Los Alamos, N.M. and Eric V. Lee of Atlanta,
Ga. Also surviving are several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was
preceded in death by her husband, and by her brother, Dr. R. Wendell Lee.
Memorials may be given to the choice of the donor.

John Robert Keating
PLYMOUTH -- John Robert Keating, 48, of Plymouth, died at 12:46 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011 at
his residence.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy, of Plymouth; brothers: Patrick and Brian Keating of
Plymouth and Thomas Keating of Gary; sister, Sharon Dilts of Plymouth; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Burial will take place at New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dale Clem
NAPPANEE -- Dale Clem, 90, of Nappanee, died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011 at his
home after a two-year battle with Multiple Myeloma Cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Clem; a son, Todd (Barb) Clem of Goshen; daughters, Lynette
(Greg) Kirkdorffer and Dee (Larry) Bricker, both of Nappanee; five grandchildren; and a brother,
Dan (Edna) Clem of Nokomis, Fla.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder
Funeral Home, Nappanee and for one hour prior to the funeral services Wednesday.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 13 at Union Center Church of
the Brethren.
Burial will follow in Union Center cemetery
Memorial contributions may be made to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County, Goshen Care
at Home Hospice, Ribbon of Hope, or Union Center Church of the Brethren.

Cindy S. Coplen
NAPPANEE -- Cindy S. Coplen, 52, of Nappanee, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at her residence
after an extended illness.
She is survived by her husband Don; daughter, Monica (Justin) Cannon of Syracuse; sons, Ryan
and D.J., both of Warsaw; three grandchildren; sisters: Candy (Jerry) Housouer of Nappanee,
Connie Reynolds of Rochester, and Laurie (Todd) Landry of Warsaw; and a brother Mike Elliott
of Warsaw.
A memorial service will take place at a later time.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cindy Coplen Memorial Fund.
Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee is assisting the family with arrangements.

Joyce I. Dawson
PLYMOUTH -- Joyce I. Dawson, 85, of Heber City, Utah, formerly of Plymouth, Ind., died of
natural causes in the Rocky Mountain Care Center, Heber City, Utah.
Joyce was born in South Bend, Ind., July 14, 1925. She was the daughter of Ray and Nancy
Yoder Granning. She attended South Bend Schools.
March 3, 1946, in South Bend, she and Charles E. Dawson, Jr., were married . Charles died April
16, 1992.
A homemaker and an avid reader, she was a resident of South Bend until 1975, when she
moved to Plymouth. She was a member of the Apostolic Temple in South Bend.
Joyce is survived by two sons, Charles R. (Michelle) Dawson, Heber City, Utah and Dennis L.
Dawson, Phoenix, Ariz. Five grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren also survive. Two sisters
in Plymouth survive as well, Jacqueline Snyder and Marybeth Jaarda.
Two brothers also survive. They are David Granning, Baldwin, Mich. And Michael (Judy)
Granning, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Owen Granning.
Family and friends will gather at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St.,
Plymouth from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 in the funeral home; the
Rev. Rex Fredricks will preside.
Burial will follow in the New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth
Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Temple, South Bend.
