Grace B. Collis

Aug. 19, 1910 -- Aug. 22, 2003

ALEXANDRIA -- Grace B. Collis, 93, died Aug. 22, 2003, at Countryside Manor in Anderson following an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 19, 1910, in Jackson County, the daughter of John L. and Pearl (Imel) Mohler, and had lived in Alexandria most of her lifetime. She moved to Anderson in 1988.

In 1966, Grace retired from Delco Remy in Anderson after 20 years of employment.

She formerly attended the Alexandria Church of God, was a retired member of United Auto Workers Local 662, and enjoyed traveling, sewing and cooking for friends and family.

Survivors include a daughter, Annabelle Eubanks of Anderson; three sons, Louis L. Collis and Dale L. Collis, both of Anderson, and Shirell (wife, Harriett) Collis of Middletown; her sister-in-law, Catherine Mohler of Anderson; six grandchildren, Shawn (husband, Todd) Parker, Kevin (wife, Barbara) Eubanks, John (wife, Tammy) Collis, Mary Ann (husband, Stewart) Carter, Charles Collis and Terry Collis; six great-grandchildren, Ginger Evens, Rachel Koscelek, Heidi Miller, Chad Eubanks, Amanda Collis and Steven Collis; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, of 59 years, Luther H. Collis, who died Nov. 2, 1986; a son, Garland Collis, in 1966 two brothers-in-law, Arthur J. Mohler and George Charles Mohler; and a sister, Anna Delph.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Owens Funeral Home, 412 N. Harrison St., Alexandria, officiated by the Rev. Joe Huff of Cornerstone Ministries in Anderson. Interment will be in Park View Cemetery, Alexandria.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service today at the funeral home.

Roselyn M. Collier

March 30, 1930 -- Aug. 23, 2003

ELWOOD -- Roselyn Mae "Rose" Collier, 73, died Aug. 23, 2003, at Riverview Hospital, Noblesville.

She was born March 30, 1930, in Elwood.

On April 25, 1953, she married John L. Collier.

She was employed as a hairdresser.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Elwood, the Dorcas Circle, Order of Eastern Star, and Business and Professional Women (BPW).

"Rosie" was the loving and faithful wife of John and a loving and caring mother of three children. Survivors include her husband, John L. Collier; a son, John Lee "Jack" Collier; and two daughters, Debra Ann Preston and Sue (husband, Steve) Atwood, all of Elwood. Also surviving are five brothers, Jim Luyet of Shirley, Nick Luyet of Middletown, Mike Luyet of Alexandria and Dan Luyet and David Luyet, both of Elwood; two grandchildren, Katina (husband, Rich) Burdsall and Justin Atwood, all of Elwood; and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Keilly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Ruth (Matthews) Luyet; a sister, Barbara Luyet; and a brother, Bill Luyet.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Indiana 13 South, Elwood, officiated by Pastor Paulette Stahlke. Burial will take place at Elwood Cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson St., Elwood, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Elnora B. Edens

Feb. 21, 1917 -- Aug. 24, 2003

Elnora B. (Moore) Edens, 86, of Anderson, died Aug. 24, 2003, at St. John's Medical Center, Anderson, after a brief illness.

She was born Feb. 21, 1917, in Anderson, where she lived her entire life.

She was a homemaker and a member of Wesley Free Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay (husband, Dick) Bott of Frankton; four grandchildren, Rena (husband, Bob) Turner of Fortville, Jill Mathews of Anderson, Randy (wife, Mary Beth) England of Alexandria and Troy Bott of Bristol; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are special friends, Neva and John Beck.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Clara Ellen (Minnick) Moore; her husband, Herbert Edens; a daughter, Judith England; and a granddaughter, Jolene Truman.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, officiated by Pastor John Lane. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the South Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made, through the funeral home, to: St. John's Medical Center.

Betty E. Gallamore

Oct. 22, 1923 -- Aug. 23, 2003

Betty E. Gallamore, 79, of Anderson, went to be with her Lord Aug. 23, 2003.

She was born Oct. 22, 1923, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Albert and Ellen (Grimm) Gilmore. The family moved to Anderson when Betty was a young child.

She was employed at numerous businesses in Anderson during her lifetime. Her favorite occupation was child care. She watched children for 27 years, touching so many lives and trying to make a difference.

She was a member of Eastside Church of God; and was actively involved in several organizations and clubs.

Survivors include the love of her life, whom she married in December 1955, Harold Gallamore; three children, Jean (husband, Calvin) Bennett, Linda (husband, Bill) Pickett and Mike (wife, Pat) Gallamore; nine grandchildren, Brent Bennett, Joe Terry, Jeff Bennett, Steven (wife, Denise) Bennett, Seana (husband, Kurt) Mathews, Mark (wife, Molly) Gallamore, Megan (husband, Brian) Powell, Molly (husband, Noah) Champion; and Jeff Pickett; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Janice (husband, Robert) Demick; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Gilmore.

Graveside services and burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Janet Wanner.

Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson.

Memorial contributions may be made, through the funeral home, to: Community Hospital Hospice.

The family wishes to thank everyone at Community Hospital (3-North) and Community Hospital Hospice.

Earl D. Waymire

FRANKTON -- Earl D. Waymire, 86, died Aug. 24, 2003, at St. John's Medical Center, Anderson. Arrangements are pending at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, Frankton.

Annabelle Hilderbrand

FORTVILLE -- Annabelle M. (Steiner) Hilderbrand, 87, died Aug. 22, 2003, at Hancock Memorial Hospital, Greenfield.

In 1975, she retired from Western Electric (formerly of Indianapolis) after 22 years of employment.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia A. Back; a granddaughter, Kelli D. Back; and a grandson, Jeffrey D. Back.

Her husband, Robert Hilderbrand, died in 1983.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ronald Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat St., Fortville. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.

Visitation hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mona L. Stinson

May 15, 1921 - Aug. 22, 2003

SHARPSVILLE -- Mona Louise (Stout) Stinson, 82, former Fortville resident, went to the Lord peacefully Aug. 22, 2003, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.

She was born May 15, 1921, in Windfall, the daughter of John A. and Lusettie (Love) Stout.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Fortville Church of the Nazarene; attended Beech Grove Church of the Brethren in Pendleton for many, many years; and was a member of the Fortville Brotherhood and Sisterhood.

Survivors include her children, Malcolm (wife, Brenda) Stinson of Middletown, Carole (husband, Virgil) McCool and Debra (husband, David) Copp, all of Sharpsville, and Brian (wife, Chris) Stinson of Tipton; eight grandchildren, Douglas (wife, Carmen) McCool, Cheryl (husband, Phillip), Tina Thompson, Keith Stinson, Kevin, (wife, Virginia) Stinson, Laura Copp, Emily Stinson and Eric Stinson; seven great-grandchildren, Lucas McCool and Reagan McCool, Bradley and Allison, Daniel Todtenbier and Amanda Todtenbier and Justin Stinson; her brother, Harry L. Stout of West Lafayette, sister, Edna Burkett of Curtisville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Stinson; a granddaughter, Erin Stinson; her parents; four brothers, LeRoy, Stout, Walter Stout, Donald Stout and Herbert Stout; and three sisters, Sylvia Singer, Geneva Hamilton and Margaret Osborn.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Ronald L. Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat St., Fortville. Burial will be in Gravel Lawn Cemetery near Fortville.

Edith M. Bell

March 5, 1918 - Aug. 23, 2003

MARTINSVILLE -- Edith M. Bell, 85, former Anderson resident, died Aug. 23, 2003, at Grandview Convalescent Center, Martinsville.

She was born March 5, 1918, in Washington County, the daughter of Harry H. and Amanda (Holsapple) Thompson.

In 1982, after 31 years of employment, she retired from her position in the sausage making department at Emge Meat Packing Co., Anderson. Prior to that, she worked at the Charleston Powder Plant.

She was a member of Walnut Grove Methodist Church in Salem and the Ivy Rebekah Lodge 381. She enjoyed serving others, loved creating a variety of quilts, was a master gardener and thoroughly enjoyed the presence of family.

Survivors include a son, Ronald K. Bell of Martinsville; two brothers, Harley Thompson of Medora and Ervin Thompson of Freetown; two sisters, Mary Ann Wheeler of Medora and Wanda Wynn of Salem; four grandchildren, Suzanne Barbieri, Jeff Bell, Angela Bell and Eric Bell; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James M. Bell; and two brothers, Robert Thompson and Travis Thompson.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dawalt Funeral Home, 204 E. Market St., Salem, officiated by the Rev. Mark Suter. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery, Salem.

Visitation hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and two hours prior to the Tuesday service at the funeral home.
