Edward T. "Ed" Henry
Edward T. "Ed" Henry, 79, Tipton died at 6:44 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born November 8, 1928 in Greenwood to Harold G. & Nina K. (Langley) Henry. On June 17, 1950 he married Charlene Prifogle and she survives.
Ed was the owner/operator of Ed Henry & Son Trucking, a farmer, and a school bus driver for over 30 years. He was a member of the Kiwanis in Tipton, Life Member of Tipton Elks, and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Kokomo. He belonged to the Old Goats Poker Club and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors besides his wife include four children, Deb Thompson and husband Bill, Fishers, Cindy Belloli and husband Dave, Fishers, Tim Henry and wife Lori, Tipton, and Jan List and husband Tom, Sharpsville; five brothers and sisters, Bud Henry, Tipton, Rich Henry, Florida, Evelyn Armstrong, Ft. Wayne, Fred Henry, Tipton, and Judy Tansy, Tipton
Ed is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Angie Augustus, Brad Thompson, Dustin Thompson, Brian Belloli, Andrew Belloli, Dava Brown, Brandon Henry, Chelsie Kochenderfer, Isaiah Henry, Lindsay List, Shelby List and Cassie List; three great-grandchildren, Morgan Thompson, Ryan Augustus and Austin Augustus.
His funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 21 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Kokomo with Rev. David Hasser presiding. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joan of Arc with a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dale Hensley, 70, Tipton, died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Windsor Estates in Kokomo after a 6-month illness. He was born July 22, 1936 in Tipton to Lester & Mary (Osborne) Hensley. On December 28, 1958 he married Violet L. Weismiller and she survives.
He worked at Dana Corporation for over 30 years and was a supervisor and machine operator. Dale was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tipton. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960-64.
Dale is survived by his wife Violet; four children, Alan Hensley, Tipton, Sherryl Hensley, Tipton, Janice Hensley, Panama City, Florida, and Kevin Hensley, Winterset, Iowa; three grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas Hensley, Tipton, Phillip Hensley, California and Karl Hensley, Lafayette; one sister, Linda Pederson, California. One sister, Marylyn Hensley, is deceased.
His funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1385 S. Main Street, Tipton, with the Rev. Kurt Gremel presiding. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church .

Mary K. Hensley
Mary K. Hensley, 64, 3440 S. St. Rd. 19, Tipton, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Tipton Hospital. She was born January 26, 1942, in Celina, Tennessee to Luke & Nardie (Butler) Atchley. On June 30, 1963, she married Tom Hensley and he survives. She was a member of Rock Prairie Baptist Church in Tipton.
Survivors besides her husband Tom include three children, Greg Hensley, Noblesville, Angie Tolle and husband Mark, Tipton, and Tim Hensley and wife Chelli, Tipton; eight brothers and sisters, Lonell Atchley, Kempton, Sis Small, Wisconsin, Lonnie Atchley, Hillisburg, Janie Straley, Florida, Will Atchley, Tipton, Liz Clark, Markle, Mattie Horton, Hagerstown, and Sharon Grimes, Tipton.
Mary is also survived by six grandchildren, Ryan Hensley, Jessica Tolle, Ashley Tolle, Lauren Tolle, Leah Hensley and Tate Hensley. She was preceded in death by one brother, Lukie Atchley.
Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 25 at Rock Prairie Baptist Church, 421 Ash Street, Tipton, with Rev. Kevin Carr presiding. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 24 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday at the church.

Raymond E. “Ray” Holderman
Raymond E. “Ray” Holderman, 73, Tipton died October 31, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Indianapolis on July 2, 1934 to Charles and Amy (Adams) Holderman. Ray married Nancy (Lee) Moses on January 7, 1981, and she survives.
Ray had owned the Tipton Meat Market and other local businesses. He belonged to the Kemp United Methodist Church and was a member of their finance committee. He was also an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #109. He had served on both the city and county councils. Ray truly loved life. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren, family, his pets, playing golf and watching sports as well as time at the lake.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, three daughters: Karen Steiner and husband John of Sharpsville, Kathy Everling and husband Frankie of Tipton, Nancy Jean Funcke of Monroe, Iowa; one son; Mike and wife Maggie of Tipton; two step-sons; John Moses and wife Dana, Mike Moses and wife Stephanie and step-daughter Kathy Cherry and husband Steve, all of Tipton.
Ray has three sisters; Carol Yates of New Whiteland, Shirley Jagodzinski of Venice Florida, and Janet Cooper, McKee, Kentucky; two brothers, Jimmy Holderman of Morgan, Indiana and Charles Holderman of Indianapolis; step mother Hazel Holderman of Greenwood. He has 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 3, at Kemp United Methodist Church with Rev. Phil Collier and Rev. Kurt Gremel presiding. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Clarence L. Holman
Clarence L. Holman, 93, Tipton, died at 4:48 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2006, at Tipton Hospital. He was born October 1, 1912, in Afton, Oklahoma to George U. & Carrie (Hoffman) Holman. Clarence married Frances Mason on December 12, 1937, and she preceded him in death on June 23, 2003.
Clarence worked at Delco Remy in Anderson, retiring in 1974. He loved the outdoors, especially working the garden. He enjoyed wood working and traveling.
He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and James Mast, Avon, and Arlene and Robert Morelock, Kokomo; four grandchildren, David & Richard Mast, Ronald & Jeffrey Morelock. Clarence had 14 great-grandchildren and a beloved pet "Buddy". He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Private funeral services are planned. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dennis A. Hood
Dennis A. Hood, 49, Sharpsville, died at 2:57 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born January 13, 1957 in Tipton to MC & Reba Sue (Butcher) Hood. On June 8, 1985, he married Lori Lees and she survives.
He was a member of the 1st Church of the Nazarene in Tipton and also served in the U.S. Navy from 1975-1979.
Survivors besides his wife Lori include his mother, Reba Hood, Noblesville; one daughter, Emma Lee Hood and one son, Jared Allen Hood, both at home; two sisters, Dee Ann Prater, Noblesville and Lynda Turnbow, Maricopa, Arizona; one brother, Curtis Hood, Conway, South Carolina. His father preceded him in death.
His funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at 1st Church of the Nazarene, 215 E. Adams Street, Tipton, with Rev. Ron Karkosky presiding. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 Saturday at the church.

June W. Horton
June W. Horton, 77 of Cicero died at 8:25 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. She was born in Bournemouth, England on December 24, 1930 to Fred and Ivy (Clutterbuck) Arnold. June married William Wayne Horton on November 23, 1952 and he preceded her in death on August 29, 1999.
June was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, sewing and traveling.
Survivors include two children; Christopher W. Horton and wife Theresa of Noblesville and Allison Dalton and husband Kevin of Zionsville. She has a sister, Jo Howard of Bath, England and a brother, Allan Arnold of Artesia, California; two grandsons, Stephen Horton and Christopher Horton II, and two great-granddaughters, Jasa and Hannah Horton.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton with Rev. Richard Bell presiding and burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 - 5:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sarah J. Hotz
Sarah J. Hotz, 67, Tipton, died Monday, December 25, 2006 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born March 12, 1939 in Loogootee, Indiana, to Matthew & Zola (Mattingly) Butcher. On June 25, 1960, she married John R. Hotz and he survives.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton and a member of its Altar Rosary Society.
Besides her husband John she is survived by two sons, Richard Hotz, Bellevue, Nebraska and David Hotz, Morristown, Tennessee; one daughter, Laurie Schillinger, Noblesville; two sisters, Mary Riggins and Harriet Byrer, both of Raglesville, Indiana; 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Her funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 29 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman presiding. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with a Wake service at 7:00 p.m.

James K. Hudson
James K. Hudson, 83, Atlanta, died at 7:25 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2006, at Tipton Hospital. He was born November 22, 1922, in Orlando, Florida, to Charles E. & Lulie C. (Kline) Hudson.
He worked for General Motors in Anderson and was a member of the Frankton American Legion. James served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942-46 during WWII.
He is survived by nieces and nephews Dorothy Blount, Texas, Robert Shinkle, Georgia, Lester Shinkle, Atlanta, Steve Hudson, Elwood, and Keith Hudson, Indianapolis; special cousins Jerry & Esther Thomas, Three Oaks, Michigan; and his dog, Sir Sebastian.
Two brothers and two sisters, Arawana W. Hudson, Chester L. Hudson, Pearl H. Shinkle, and Dale E. Hudson preceded him in death.
His funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Barnett presiding. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Everett E. Hughes
Everett E. Hughes, 52, Tipton, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born June 2, 1955, in Tipton to John T. & Donna (Stout) Hughes. On April 30, 2004 he married Diane M. (Zielke) Woodrum and she survives.
Everett was an insurance agent for 30 years and a bail bondsman for 25 years as well as a real estate agent. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Sons of the American Legion, Benevolent & Protective Order of Elk, Indiana Surety Bail Agent Association, Chamber of Commerce, Cicero Township Deputy Trustee, Quartermilers Auto Club, NHRA member, Life Member of the Kelley School of Business in the Indiana University Alumni Association, Independent Insurance Agents of America, Associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and a member of the Cicero Township Fire Department.
He was an avid race fan, especially NHRA drag racing. He loved traveling, especially taking cruises and going to Las Vegas for the warm weather, shopping and a little blackjack. He was a loving husband and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Diane; his mother, Donna Hughes, Tipton; and two children, Beau S. Woodrum and Shannon M. Woodrum, both of Tipton.
His funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 29, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 340 Mill Street, Tipton, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman presiding. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with a Wake Service at 1:00 p.m.

Shannon G. Hurlock
Shannon G. Hurlock, 38, 6187 W. 100 N., Tipton, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006 at her residence after a 7 1/2 - year illness. She was born August 14, 1967 in Fort Knox, Kentucky, to Robert & Sharon (Gaston) Galloway. On May 27, 1989, she married Neil D. Hurlock and he survives.
She was a 1985 graduate of Tri-Central High School and received a degree in Physical Therapy form Indiana University in 1990. Shannon was a past member of the Tipton County Extension Board and a member of Tipton County 4-H. She enjoyed waterskiing and riding her dirt bike with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband Neil; one daughter Stephanie Hurlock and one son Brandon Hurlock, both at home; mother and step-father Sharon & Don Whicker, Jr., Sharpsville; father and step-mother Robert & Brenda Galloway, Leesburg, Georgia; grandmothers Mary Smith, Kempton and Lula Galloway, Albany, Georgia; three sisters, Tammy Johnson, Tipton, Terri Hargrove, Kokomo, Donna Pharris, Greentown; and one brother, Kyle Galloway, Leesburg, Georgia.
Her funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 26, at Faith United Methodist Church, 1518 Faith Road, Kokomo, with Rev. Evan Strong presiding. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-7:00 Sunday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday at the church.
