MYRA ELLIS

DODGE CITY ญญ Myra "Florence" (Oringderff) Ellis, 90, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at Manor of the Plains in Dodge City.

She was born Oct. 22, 1912, to Merlin John Williams and Anna May Jeffrey, in Labette County.

She married Clarence Ray Oringderff in 1931, in Altamount. They later divorced.

She married Hubert Doak Ellis Nov. 18, 1954, in Arkansas. He died Dec. 19, 1995.

She graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont in 1930.

She owned and operated "Home Cafe" in Dodge City for 34 years.

Her hobbies included cooking, traveling, and antique collecting.

She was a member of the Dodge City Coin Club.

Survivors include, two sons, John (Lydia) Oringderff, Liberal, and Ralph (Dixie) Oringderff, Dodge City; one daughter, Rose Strube, Wichita; five step-daughters, Betty Haskell, Bonnie Bradbury, Nancy Dimmick, and Naomi Cramer, all of Kinsley, and Emma McLaughlin, Quartzside, Ariz; four granddaughters, Patty Bilber, Hopkins, Minn., Debbie Veatch, Pratt, Sharon Smith, Tribune, Carol Jane Schuetze, Cimarron; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City.

Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City.

Memorials suggested to Friends of the Zoo or Manor Plains Nursing Home.

ANGEL M. RICHMAN

GARDEN CITY ญญ Angel Marie Richman, infant, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park.

Survivors include her parents, Michael and Lisa (Shrimplin) Richman, Overland Park; grandparents, John Shrimplin and wife, Kate, Sublette; great-grandparents, Irene Richman, Buelah Clayton, Arthur Davis and wife, Lois, Garden City, Donald Pike and wife, Evelyn, Holcomb; aunts and uncles, Sean Edwards and wife, Jessica, Shane Smotherman and wife, Michelle, Matthew Richman and wife, Jennifer, and Jeremy Shrimplin.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jesse and Kathy Richman; and great-grandparents, William Richman, Roy Clayton, and Eldon Shrimplin.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Fellowship Baptist Church in Garden City with the Pastor Dan Pearce presiding.

EDWARD D. VERMES

ULYSSES ญญ Edward D. Vermes, 85, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

He was born Dec. 6, 1917, to Joseph and Lula (Peters) Vermes, in Sandoval, Ill.

He married Marcella B. Burnham Sept. 28, 1943, in Pleasent Hill, Ohio. She died Nov. 6, 2001.

He graduated from Blackburn College and University of Illinois with two degrees in Education.

After 24 years of active duty in the US Army, he taught science at a private military school in Virginia until retirement in 1965.

He was a member of Ulysses Masonic Lodge No. 435, Ulysses Eastern Star No. 471, and Charles B. Hart American Legion Post No. 79.

Survivors include, two sons, Edward D. Vermes Jr., La Crosse, Wis., and Joseph Robert Vermes, Annapolis, Maryland; one daughter, Martha Hamilton, Ft. Pierce, Fla.; one sister, Rena, Denver, Colo.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Anna Louise.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, with the Rev. Bill Harrold presiding.

Burial with Military Graveside Rites by Charles B. Hart Post 79 will be at Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

Memorials are suggested to Western Prairie Care Home in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant, Ulysses, KS 67880.

LYNETTE BUSSEY

WICHITA ญญ Lynette Bussey, 38, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003.

She was born in Liberal.

She was a registered nurse at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.

Survivors include, two daughters, Candice Head, Broomfield, Colo., and Mallory Bussey, of the home; her mother, Virginia Means, Edmond, Okla.; step-father, Ed Means, Edmond; sisters, Kathleen Lorg and husband, Melvin, and Brenda Demuth and husband, Corey, both of Wichita; step-brothers, Carl and Cliff Means, both of Wichita.

She was preceded in death by her father, Abie Rusch.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Westlink Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Lynette Bussey Children's Fund in care of Emprise Bank, 275 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202.

BRADY LAWSON

MARYSVILLE, Mont. ญญ Brady Lawson, 22, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at University of Washington Medical Center.

He was a previous resident of Hugoton.

He was born Dec. 24, 1980, in Longmont, Colo.

He graduated from Capitol High School in 2000.

He served in the US Air Force as Crew Chief on F16 fighter aicraft.

His hobbies included skiing, fishing, hiking, and hunting.

Survivors include, his parents, Marc Korting and wife, Deena, Marysville, and Steve Lawson and wife, Dawn, Lyons, Colo.; fiance, Amy O'Connell, Helena; four sisters, Kirsten Merganthaler, Helena, Kim Lamb, Meridian, Idaho, Calena Lawson and Jacelyn Lawson, Longmount, Colo.; grandparents, Ann Korting, Marysville, Herb Eskildsen and wife, Charlotte, Helena, Louis Lawson and wife, Alice, Florida, Don Hartshorn and wife, Roberta, Liberal; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Helena College of Technology, Donaldson Building, at 1115 Roberts, Helena Mont, with the Father Stephen Brehe presiding.

Memorials are suggested to Marysville Pioneer Club in care of Lorna Johns, P.O. Box 16, Marysville, MT 59640.

HAROLD F. JAMES SR.

Harold Franklin James Sr., 87, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born Dec. 29, 1915, to Eila Walton and Rowena Joyce (Smith) James, in Hugoton.

He married Fay Elnora Brown Jan. 6, 1941, in Haskell County. She survives.

He had been a Liberal resident for 15 years.

He was a farmer, and had rental properties.

He was a member of First Church of God in Hugoton, Sunday school superintendant, drove the Sunday school bus, served on the board of evangelism and Executive Council on the state level. He was also Lt. Governor of Kansas Kiwanis Division 10, a board member of Southwest Guidance Center in Liberal, a past board member of Kansas Advocacy and Protective Services, and second vice-president of Kansas Association of Retarded Citizens.

Survivors include, one son, Harold James Jr. and wife, Charlesetta, Liberal; two daughters, Dr. Brenda Joyce James, and Dr. Linda Bernice Myers and husband, Roger, all of Columbus, Ohio; one aunt, Opal Arnold, Minneola; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Carl James, Eila James Jr., and twin brothers; three sisters, Mildred Wellington, Juanita Jenkins, and Maxine James.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Church of God in Hugoton with the Pastor Bill Vincent presiding.

Burial will be at Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today, and from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton.

Memorials are suggested to Muscular Dystrophy in care of Paul's Funeral Home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.

GLEN D. PLUNK

TURPIN, Okla. ญญ Glen Dean "Tiny" Plunk, 50, of Turpin, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born Feb. 17, 1952, to Clifton and Rena (Lewis) Plunk in Beaver, Okla.

He married Glenda (Burch) Plunk May 18, 1979, at Turpin Baptist Church in Turpin.

He attended Eureka Grade School, and later graduated from Turpin High School in 1970.

Survivors include three sons, Jared, Meade, Justin and Jordan, both of Turpin; two daughters, Ranee and Michelle, both of Turpin; his mother, Rena Plunk, Baker; three brothers, Rondal and wife, Norma, Wichita, Delmer, Baker, and Terry and wife, Mary Jane, Bartlesville, Okla.; three sisters, Norma Rock and husband, Earl, Colorado Springs, Vernette Clampett and husband, David, Marble Falls, Texas, and Doneva Parr and husband, Randy, Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Turpin High School Gymnasium in Turpin.

Burial will be at Liberal City Cemetery in Liberal.

Memorials are suggested to an education fund for Glen's children, in care of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.

KAREN L. MILLER

KISMET ญญ Karen Lee Miller, 56, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minn.

She worked at Northern Natural Gas Company for 26 years.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Forgan, Okla.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Forgan.

The family suggests memorials to First Christian Church, P.O. Box 206, Forgan, OK 73938.
