WALLACE A. DUNN

RICHFIELD -- Wallace Allen Dunn, 81, died Monday, June 23, 2003, at his home.

He was born Dec. 22, 1921, to Oral Allen and Lena May (Sims) Dunn in Plevna.

He married Lois Kimball June 1, 1945, in Bishop, Calif. She survives.

He was a graduate of Richfield High School an d attended Asbury College.

He was a farmer in the Richfield area, where he had resided since 1928.

He was active in Soil Conservation, Farm Bureau, Morton County Fair, and was past president of Richfield Senior Center.

He was a member of Richfield United Methodist Church, had been church treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, and was active in United Methodist Men.

Other survivors include two sons, Samuel W. Dunn, and Timothy Andrew Dunn, both of Richfield; three daughters, Penelope Lois James, Osawatomie, Rebekah V. Stukey, Wichita, and Phoebe Brummett, Rolla; three brothers, C. Eldon, and Don Ray Dunn, both of Richfield, and Howard A. Dunn, Turpin, Okla.; three sisters, Verda Mae Allen, Elkhart, Gail King, Woodward, Okla., and Avila Lewis, Rupert, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Allen Dunn; and one grandson, Chad Isaac Stukey.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Richfield United Methodist Church in Richfield with the Pastor Robert Stout presiding.

Burial will be at Richfield Cemetery in Richfield.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.

The family suggests memorials to Great Plains Christian Radio or to Richfield United Methodist Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 605 W. North Ave., Johnson, KS 67855.

ROBERT IRVIN LATTA

MEADE -- Roberta Irvin Latta, 58, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, as the result of a vehicle accident at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.

He was born April 1, 1945, to Robert and Evelyn L. Unruh Latta in Garden City.

He married Judy Wagner May 10, 1969, in Ensign. She survives.

He was a lifetime area resident, engaged in farmig in Meade and Gray counties.

He was a member of Dodge City Church of the Nazarene.

Other survivors include one son, John, Marietta, Ga.; one brother, Richard Latta and wife, Susan Bruns, Indianapolis, Ind.; and his mother.

He was preceded in death by his father on Feb. 5, 2003.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Cemetery in Montezuma.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dodge City Church of the Nazarene.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to either Dodge City Church of the Nazaren or Great Plains Christian Radio in care of Montezuma Funeral Home, Box 421, Montezuma, KS 67867.

BENTON H. "BEN" STEWART

TRIBUNE -- Benton H. "Ben" Stewart, 74, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at his home in Tribune.

He was born May 4, 1929, to Dyas Vernon and Ola Jewell Hudson Stewart in Mexia, Texas.

He married Mae Dhority Sept. 27, 1946, in Tribune. She survives.

He was a resident of Tribune since 1946 moving from Tyler, Texas. He had been the owner and operator of several cafes in Tribune. He then was a driver for consolidated freightways and later was the county manager for Farm Burea Insurance Agency, Tribune.

He was a member, past Deacon and trustee of the First Baptist Church, Tribune.

Other survivors include two brothers, Jim Tom Stewart, Goodland, and Bob Stewart, Somerville, Texas; three sons , Sam Stewart, Tribune, Stan Stewart and wife, Wanda, El Dorado, and Shan Stewart and wife, Myra, Tribune; two daughters, Sandy Schultz and husband, Cliff, Satanta, and Sue Nell Burch and husband, Ken, Ingalls; 15 grandchildren and for great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Stevie Joe Stewart and grandson, Scott Benton Stewart.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Tribune with the Rev. Mark Randolph presiding.

Burial will be at Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Tribune.

Memorials are suggested to Ben Stewart Memorial Fund in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, Tribune, KS.

BLANCHE L. McCUE

ROWLETT, Texas -- Blanche L. McCue, 90, former Liberal resident, died Tuesday June 24, 2003, at Lake Point Medical Center, Rowlett.

She was born Dec. 24, 1912, to E.L. and Sophie (Olsen) Gaskill in Goodwell, Okla.

She married Maurice McCue on Sept. 16, 1932, in Garden City. He died July 31, 1967.

She graduated from Moscow High School in 1930 and went Bethany College in Lindsborg where she graduated in 1932.

She sang in the Bethany College Choir and performed in the "Messiah" in 1930 and 1931.

She was a homemaker and co-owner with her husband of McCue Grocery Store in Moscow from 1934 to 1958.

She is a member of the Moscow United Methodist Church in Moscow.

Survivors include two sons, Larry McCue and wife, Sylvia, Reed Springs, Mo, and Richard McCue, Wellington; one sister, Mildred Greenwood, Hugoton; 12 grandchildren, Amy Johnson, Jill Davidson, Lisa Hardin, Brock Allen McCue, Brent Yadon, Denise Bomberger, Joseph Sheffield, Don McCue, Jennette (McCue) Simms, Sean McCue, Ian McCue and Muara McCue; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter Janice Sheffield, three brothers, Glen Gaskill, Gerald Gaskill and Lloyd Alvin Gaskill; one sister, Evelyn Prather; one grandson Jeff McCue; and one great-granddaughter, Grace Davidson.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Moscow United Methodist Church in Moscow with the Pastor Bill Ripley presiding.

Burial will be at Moscow Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal, and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Moscow United Methodist Church in Moscow. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Church.

Memorials are suggested to Moscow United Methodist Church in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd, Liberal KS 67901.

HALLIE A. GARDINER

GARDEN CITY -- Hallie A. Gardiner, 86, died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 15, 1917, to Fred Black and Viola Gertrude (Chaffin) Black in Stevens County.

She married Mervin F. "Mick" Gardiner in 1937, in Garden City. He preceded her in death.

She and her husband were partners in the Gardiner Dairy and Ice Cream Co. in Garden City until the 1960s. She co-owned with her husband and operated Gardiner Mini Storage prior to moving to Lawrence.

She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, Garden City, and participated actively in church circles.

She was also a member and past president of Chapter FF P.E.O.

Other survivors include two daughters, Beverly Morgan, Lawrence, and Beckie Bigler, Arcadia, Okla., and eight grandchildren.

Preceeding her in death is one son, Dr. Ted M. Gardiner; and one daughter, Barbara Hearon.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Garden City, with Rev. Robert Cousins presiding.

Burial will be at Valley View Cemetary.

The family suggests memorials to the Hallie A. Gardiner Memorial Fund in care of pioneer Ridge Retirement Community; or to the Chapter FF P.E.O. Local Scholarship Fund, both in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, KS 67846.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Garden City, 620-276-2364. The family will recieve friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

RODNEY L. KOEHN

MONTEZUMA ญญ-- Rodney "Rod" Lee Koehn, 44, Cottonwood Falls, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, in rural Stanton County.

He was born June 2, 1959, to Barton Dean and Clara Belle (Fricke) Koehn in Dodge City.

He married Donna Fowler Jan. 25, 1988, in Wichita. She survives.

He was raised in Montezuma, moved to Burlington and then to Cottonwood Falls. He was a trucker.

Other survivors include his parents, rural Montezuma; two sons, Colby and Chase, both of Cottonwood Falls; two daughters, Callie Dee and Clarie Jo, also of Cottonwood Falls; three sisters, Sandra Brack and husband, Herman, Montezuma, Patricia Isaac and husband, Mark, rural Ingalls and twin sister, Robin Koehn, Montezuma; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephew and nieces.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Homeland Mennonite Church in Montezuma with Ministers Donald Koehn II and Kelly Isaac presiding.

Burial will be at the Homeland Mennonite Church Cemetery in Montezuma.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Montezuma Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Montezuma Funeral Home, Box 421, Montezuma, KS 67867.

L. MARIE RANDLES

ULYSSES -- L. Marie Randles, 83, Ulysses, died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

She was born June 29, 1919, to Leeman Edward and Hattie Maine (Trafton) Smith in Grant County.

She married James Thomas Randles July 5, 1935, in Johnson. He died Jan. 28, 1985.

Her early years were spent in Kansas and Colorado. She moved back to Ulysses in 1948. She was an avid bingo and card player. She enjoyed attending and supporting her family at numerous sporting events including ball games, 4-H and rodeos. She owned Randles Restaurant for 15 years, was a school cook and worked at Gray and Rosel.

Survivors include one son, Sammie Randles, Sublette; three daughters, Verna Randles, Jessie Nickerson and Betty McCauley, all of Ulysses; one brother, Henry (Hank) Smith, Ulysses; one sister, Arlene Meyer, Ulysses; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; two brothers, George Adrian Smith and Leeman Chalmers (Jack) Smith; a grandson-in-law, Bryan Wilson; and a great-grandson, Nathan.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses with the Rev. Bill Harrold presiding.

Burial will be at Ulysses Cemetery.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to Donor's Choice in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant, Ulysses, KS 67880.

CATHERINE LUCERO

Catherine Lucero, 75, Liberal, died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

She was born Oct. 19, 1927, to Nemecio and Pauline (Gerald) Lucero in Colorado.

She graduated from high school in LaJare, Colo. She has been a resident of Liberal for the past four years. She was a retired Dietitian.

She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.

Survivors include a brother, Amos Lucero, Alamosa, Colo.; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Ralph Lucero; three sisters, Helen Steele, Ann Gorsage and Mary Suazo.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal with Fr. Patrick Keyes presiding.

Rosary will be at 6 p.m. today at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Memorials may be sent to St. Anthony Catholic Church in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd, Liberal, KS 67901.
