MARGARET K. FRIESEN

MEADE -- Margaret K. Friesen, 78, died Nov. 18, 2003, at Meade District Hospital in Meade.

She was born Jan. 23, 1925, to Peter F. and Katie Cornelsen Isaac in Meade.

She married Abe Z. Friesen Aug. 4, 1964. He survives.

She was a lifetime resident of Meade and retired Nurse of Meade District Hospital and a homemaker.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Meade.

Other survivors include one daughter, Lavina Bartel, Dodge City; two brothers, Corny K. Isaac, Newton, and Jake K. Isaac, Reedley, Calif.; two sisters, Lena Isaac, Corn, Okla., and Anna Friesen, Hesston; three grandchildren, Lester Bartel and wife, Naomi, Madison, Ala., Dwight Bartel and wife, Lorlyn, Clovis, Calif., and Wayne Bartel and wife, Lynn, Dodge City; six great-grandchildren, Mathew Bartel, Tracy Bartel, Rebecca Bartel, Steven Bartel, Annette Bartel, and Joshua Bartel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Abe K. Isaac, Pete K. Isaac, Henry K. Isaac, and John K. Isaac; and one sister, Katheryn K. Classen.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Meade with the Reverend David Cummings presiding.

Burial will be at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church Cemetery in rural Meade.

Friends may call until 7 p.m. Thursday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

Memorials are suggested to the Emmanuel Mennonite Church Missions in care of the mortuary.

BETTY DIXON

ROLLA -- Betty Dixon, 82, died Nov. 19, 2003, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita.

She was born to Thorton William and Rosie Janet (McNeff) Sullivan Aug. 31, 1921, in Stanton County.

She married Harold Dixon Feb. 20, 1939. He died Jan. 4, 1990.

She worked for the Rolla School District as a cook for 20 years.

She was a member of the Community Church in Pearce, Ariz. She attended the Richfield United Methodist Church in Richfield.

Survivors include one son Lloyd Dixon, Richfield; two daughters, Betty Friend and husband, Don, Benson, Ariz., Rosalie Milburn and husband, Charles, Rolla; one brother, Loren Sullivan and wife, Marie, Hugoton; one sister Oleta Hamby, Pipestone, Minn.; seven grandchildren;13 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces, and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Loren Dixon; parents; husband and two brothers, Don Sullivan and Richard Sullivan

Memorial services are at 2 p.m. at the Richfield United Methodist Church in Richfield with the Pastor John Jordan presiding.

Burials will be at Richfield cemetery in Richfield.

Memorials are suggested to Richfield United Methodist Church in Richfield or Morton County Historical Museum in Elkhart in care of Paul's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.

Friends may call Paul's Funeral Home until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday.

STEEN A. REICHMANN

MEADE -- Steen A. Reichmann, 42, died Nov. 19, 2003, in Dumas, Texas.

He was born Oct. 3, 1961, to Ronnie and Glenda Sue (Brock) Reichmann in Wichita.

He married Brenda J. Mahieu May 7, 1990, in Wichita. She survives.

He was a 1979 graduate of Haysville High School in Haysville. He was a resident of Meade since Feb. 2000, moving from Wichita. He was a salesman for Midwest Fasteners.

Other survivors include one son, Ethan Reichman, Meade; three daughters, Kaitlyn Reichmann, Meade, Madison Reichmann, Meade, and Danielle Reichmann, Wichita; one step-son, Aaron Wade, Wichita; one step-daughter, Shawna Christopherson and husband, Roth, Wichita; his mother, three brothers, Wade Reichmann, Wichita, Lyle West, Cabot, Ark., and Curt West, Wichita; one grandson, Codey Christopherson, Wichita; uncles and aunts, Brenda McKean and husband, Merle, Lawton, Okla., Joyce and Roger Goolsby, Jenks, Okla., Sandford West, Wichita, Carl West and wife, Roberta, Salina, Okla., and Coleta Suiter and husband, Ken, Port Neches, Texas; and numerous other relatives.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church in rural Meade with the Reverend David Cummings presiding.

Burial will be at the EMB Church Cemetery in rural Meade.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

Memorials are suggested to a memorial fund established in the name of Steen and Brenda's children at the Meade State Bank in care of the mortuary.

EDWIN ANDREW BUCHER JR.

FOWLER -- Edwin Andrew Bucher Jr., 69, died Nov. 15, 2003, in Glendale, Kentucky.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Fidler-Orme Mortuary Chapel in Meade with the Reverend Terry Mayhew presiding.

Burial will be in the Fowler Cemetery in Fowler.

Friends may sign the guest register today from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

RUTH ALYCE LOCKWOOD SMITH

Ruth Alyce Lockwood Smith, 93, died July 24, 2003, in Pasadena, Calif.

THOMAS J. SMITH JR.

Thomas J. Smith Jr., 99, died Aug. 16, 2003, in Pasadena, Calif.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday for both at Liberal Cemetery in Liberal with the Reverend Ken Hathaway presiding.

Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ALBERTO RUIZ

Alberto Ruiz, 22, died Nov. 23, 2003, near Plains.

He was born Dec. 5, 1980, to Francisco and Tayde Perez Ruiz in Juarez, Mexixo.

He graduated from Liberal High School in 1999 and received his Associates of Arts Degree from Allen County Community College in Iola. He was employed at National Beef Packing in the freezer department for thepast two years.

He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.

Survivors include his parents, Liberal; two sisters, Stacy Falcon and husband, Gasper, and Cinthia Ruiz, all of Liberal; grandparents, Eladio Ruiz, Juarez, Mexico, Angelina Ruiz, Liberal, Teresita Perez, Liberal.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. tonight at Miller Mortuary.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Father Patrick Keyes presiding.

Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery in Liberal.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until noon Wednesday at Miller Mortuary.

JAY MALONE

FT. DODGE -- Jay Malone, 96, died Nov. 21, 2003, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born July 25, 1907, to James H. and Nellie Lawson Malone in El Reno, Okla.

He married Mary R. Martin May 17, 1941, in Lone Oak, Ark. She died April, 18, 1981.

He attended school near Buffalo, Okla. He served in the United States Army in World War II. He lived in Sprinfield, Colo. where he operated a service station for four years and was later involved in the construction of grain elevators in Wyoming. He pursued his interests as a broncobuster and a ranch hand moving to Liberal in 1959, he retired in 1982. He moved to Ft. Dodge in July 2001.

Survivors include one brother, Lloyd Malone and wife, Roberta, Coldwater; one sister, Violet Fredrick, Bucklin; sister-in-law, Dorothy Malone, Kingman; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Miller Chapel with the Reverend Ray Tweed presiding.

Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery in Liberal.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. until service time today.

DONALD HUPP WHITE

GARDEN CITY -- Donald Hupp White, 83, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at Saint Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

He was born Oct. 2, 1920, to Hugh Delman and Kittie Adeline (Hupp) White in Haviland.

He married Berniece Bratcher May 24, 1946 in Liberal. She survives.

He graduated from Pratt High School. He received an Associate's Degree from Pratt Junior College.

He was a veteran of World War II, where he served with the U.S. Airforce as a tail gunner.

He was a postal worker for 39 years.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He was a member of the Masonic Fargo Lodge No. 300, American Legion, Liberal Pancakers' Camping Club and Liberal Elks Lodge No. 1947 in Liberal.

He liked to travel and fish.

Other survivors include, one daughter, Lana Maturey and husband, Domingo, Overland Park; three grandchildren, Craig Maturey, Norman, Okla., Kevin Maturey and wife, Valerie, Monett, Mo., and Scott Maturey and wife, Andrea, Norman, Okla; one great-grandson, Grant Maturey and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William and John White.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Liberal with the Reverend Ken Hathaway presiding.

Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery in Liberal.

Friends may visit the Ktich -Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal from 5 until 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until noon Saturday.

Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to the First United Methodist Church in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, KS 67901.
