LAURENCE J. "IKE" EISENHAUER
Laurence J. "Ike" Eisenhauer, 81, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at his home in Liberal.
He was born Oct. 29, 1922, to Charles W. and Mary (Doran) Eisenhauer in Council Grove.
He married Myrtle Moran Nov. 4, 1944, in Emporia. She survives.
He graduated from Emporia High School in 1940 and attended Chillicothe. He attended Missouri Business College.
He was a Liberal resident since 1956, moving form Emporia.
He was a material specialist with Panhandle Eastern Pipeline, retiring Dec. 31, 1984.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force in World War II.
He was a member of the Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.
He was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed square dancing with his wife.
Other survivors include three sons, Larry Eisenhauer and wife, Cindy, Ankeny, Iowa, Steven Eisenhauer and wife, Jane, Liberal, Daniel Eisenhauer and wife Dona, Garden City; one daughter, Susan Zielke and husband, Mike, Liberal; seven grandchildren, Nathan Eisenhauer, Joshua Zielke, Justin Eisenhauer, Susann Eisenhauer, Sarah Zielke, Jessica Eisenhauer, Jena Eisenhauer and one great-grandchild, Taylor Eisenhauer.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Saint Anthony Catholic Church with the Father Patrick Keyes presiding.
Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery.
Vigil and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
Friends may call Kitch-Brenneman Funeral home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday.

JACK D. GRAY
HUGOTON -- Jack D. Gray, 76, died Dec. 15, 2003, at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton.
He was born Jan. 6, 1927, to Jack C. and Claudia (Van Way) Gray in Bakersfield, Calif.
He married Betty Bastian Nov. 22, 1978, in Clayton, N.M. She survives.
He worked for Williams Gas Company as a machinist.
He attended First Baptist Church in Satanta. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 406, Satanta/Hugoton.
Other survivors include four sons, David Gray and wife, Donna, Denver, Colo., George Sutherland and wife, Ellen, San Antonio, Texas, Ronald Sutherland and wife, Cecil, Buna, Texas, Jon Sutherland-Gray, Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Debra Ray, Denver, Colo. and Patricia Strickland, La Porte, Texas; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grand children and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Satanta with the Pastor Ray Tweed presiding.
Masonic graveside services will be at the Masonic Lodge No. 406, Satanta/Hugoton at Dudley Township Cemetery
in Satanta.

R. DALE POMEROY
R. Dale Pomeroy, 88, died Dec. 11, 2003, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal.
He was born Feb. 11, 1915, to Roy L. and Grace L. (Bohl) Pomeroy in Elk City.
He married Ruth Rinehart Dec. 26, 1936, in Wichita. She survives.
He graduated from Hugoton High School and attended Southwestern College in Winfield and received his Masters degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. He had been a longtime Liberal resident moving to Liberal in 1954. He served as principle at Hugoton Grade School for three years and had also served as a principal for Copeland High School and Kismet Rural High School for several years. In 1948, he was hired as General Manager for Tradewind Industries. In 1951, he started Pomeroy Equipment Sales selling municipal, governmental, industrial and agricultural equipment. In 1954, he branched into the irrigation field where he was responsible for many of the first irrigation wells of Southwest Kansas and the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandle. He served as the first president of the Western Kansas Manufactures and directed the first traveling caravan display which is now known as the 3 I Show. He was director and vice president of the Kansas Manufactures Association and was director and vice president of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Liberal. He served for many years on the Mexican American Ministry Board and member of the Masonic Lodge of Plains.
His hobbies included listening to music and singing.
Other survivors include two sons, Douglas Pomeroy and wife, Polly, Nashville, Tenn. and Brian Pomeroy, Garden City; two daughters, Raneta Schreiner and husband, Rolfe, Santa Cruz, Calif. and Renee Pomeroy, Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughter-in-laws, Irene Senior-Pomeroy and Daw Pomeroy; one sister, Doris L. Morris, Hugoton; 10 grandchildren, Brandon Pomeroy, Roxanne Kasper, Alison Janssen, Marcus Pomeroy, Courtney Pomeroy, Emilia Boer, Sage Schreiner, Sierra Schreiner, Brandy Hancock and Kenneth Senior.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis and Barry Pomeroy and one step-brother, Oliver Bell.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20 at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ken Hathaway presiding.
Cremation has taken place.

RICHARD EUGENE REIMELT
SUBLETTE -- Richard Eugene Reimelt, 76, died Dec. 18, 2003, at his home.
He was born Sept. 18, 1927, to Otto A. and Evelyn May (DeFreese) Reimelt in Haskell County on the farmstead.
He married Sue Daily Oct. 8, 1950, in Sublette. She survives.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sublette and past member of Farm Bureau, Haskell County Cemetery
Board and Rotary Club, all of Sublette.
Other survivors include one son, Larry W. Reimelt and wife, Kathy, St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter, Tracy S. Hirst and husband, Harvey, West Redding, Conn.; four grandchildren, Jessica Reimelt, Alexa Reimelt, Timothy Hirst and Trevor Hirst; and numerous other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Sublette with the Reverend Keith Fink presiding.
Burial will be at the Haskell County Cemetery
in Sublette.
Haskell County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
SARAH NELL BRADSHAW
Sarah Nell Bradshaw, 80, died Dec. 18, 2003, at Liberal Good Samaritan Center in Liberal.
She was born Feb. 3, 1923, to Henry Floyd and Ethel Mae (Reeves) George in Dothan, Ala.
She married Thomas E. James April 29, 1946.
She then married William D. Bradshaw Oct. 17, 1947, in Miami. He died Jan. 2000.
She was a resident of Liberal since 2001, moving from Sun City, Ariz. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years. She was a civilian airplane mechanic at Opa Loca Navel Base during World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Ethel Hurd and husband, Frank, Liberal, and Pamella Lewis, Flagstaff, Ariz.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one sister; and one son-in-law, Aaron Lewis.
Her body was donated for anatomical study.
Memorial services will be at a later date.

JOHN-JUAN D. SOSA
Johnson -- John-Juan D. Sosa, 76, died Dec. 20, 2003, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.
He was born Dec. 8, 1927, to Sal vador De La Rosa and Juana (De Santiago) Sosa in Spearville.
He married Juanita P. Kippes Aug. 18, 1948, in Ulysses. She survives.
He was a Johnson resident since 1941 and graduated from Stanton County High School in 1947. He worked at the Johnson Coop as a butcher, grocery store manager and manager of the filling station.
He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
His hobbies included bowling, basketball, baseball and organized Little League Baseball in Johnson.
Other survivors include one son, Jon Sosa, Liberal; one daughter, Jeri Feltz, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Salvador Sosa, Liberal; two sisters, Josephine Taul, Ulysses and Mollie Herron, Valley Station, Ky.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Roberto Sosa; one half brother, Pedro Diaz; two sisters, Elvira Sosa and Margaret Limon; and several other brothers and sisters.
Vigil services will be at 6 p.m., Tuesday at the St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Johnson.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses with the Reverend Jim Dieker presiding.
Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery
in Johson.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.

HAZEL B. DAVIS
HOOKER, Okla. -- Hazel B. Davis, 91, died Dec. 19, 2003, at Good Samaritan Center in Liberal.
She was born Jan. 31, 1912, to Joseph Leroy and Nellie May Birt Baimun on a farm near Hooker.
She married Victor "Dutch" Davis July 24, 1930. He died Aug. 27, 1979.
She was a seamstress and worked at Ethel's Dress Shop, P and O Cleaners and Grey's Drug. In 1954, Hazel began doing photography work in her home and a few years later opened Hazel's Art Studio in downtown Hooker. She taught art to several people in Bible School in her church for many years.
She was a member of the Northwest Art Society.
Survivors include one daughter, Anita Wichert and husband, Harold, Hooker, Okla.; three grandchildren, Margaret Melander and husband, Tom, Arvada, Colo., Kenny Wichert and wife, Karen, Bowie, Texas, and Donna Jones, Arvada, Colo.; six great-grandchildren, Eric and Kelsey Melander, Chris and Lisa Wichert and Leslie and Lauren Jones; one great-great-grandson, William Michael Allen III and many nephews, nieces and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Micheal Melander; one son-in-law, Donald Jones; one brother, Floyd Bainum; and three sisters, Flossie Decker, Mildred Moore and Wilma Bolling.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Hooker with Brother Eddy Scoggins presiding.
Burial will be at Hooker Cemetery
in Hooker directed by the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.
