PAULINE AUGUSTA (KERSEY) MINER

SUBLETTE -- Pauline Augusta (Kersey) Miner, 89, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at her residence in Sublette.

She was born Feb. 22, 1914, to Ralph and Florence (Garloch) Kersey in Superior, Neb.

She married Loring V. Miner August 1943 in Charleston, S.C. He preceded her in death.

She moved from Garden City to Sublette in 1946.

She was a homemaker. She was an employee at the Finney County Treasurer Office in the 1930's. She was a secretary for Sublette Grade School from 1963 to 1979.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, U.M.W., O.E.S., Social Hour Club, American Legion Auxiliary in Sublette. She was a member of B.P. W. , Garden City and she also served on the Haskell County Township Board, and served on the election board in Sublette.

She is survived by three sons, Paul Miner, Sublette, Bill Miner and wife, Sherri Sublette, Joe Miner and wife, Terri, Emporia; one daughter, Mary Embree and husband Gary, Garden City; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, twin brother, Paul Kersey and one sister, Naomi Washburn.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Sublette with the Reverend Keith Fink presiding.

Burial will be at Haskell County Cemetery in Sublette.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Haskell County Funeral Home.

WINFRED E. "WIN" BINDLEY JR.

MONTEZUMA -- Winfred E. "Win" Bindley Jr., 92, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Western Plains Regional Medical Complex in Dodge City.

He was born Nov. 26, 1911, to Winfred Earl and Elsie (Burnham) Bindley in Belfont.

He married Mildred B. Oldfield Nov. 21, 1938, in Glenwood Springs, Colo. She survives.

He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a farmer.

He was a member of the American Legion, Montezuma and Moose Lodge in Dodge City.

Other survivors include two sisters, Edna English, Cimarron, Elsie Beery, Hays.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Deanne Bindley; two brothers, Bill and Lyle Bindley and two sisters, Evelyn Estes and Marie Nichols.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Montezuma with the Reverend Gene Eshleman presiding.

Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Montezuma.

Montezuma Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

GABRIEL D. PINNEY-GARZA

ULYSSES -- Gabriel D. Pinney-Garza, infant son of David Garza and Angelina Pinney, died Jan. 30, 2004, at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

He was born Jan. 7, 2004, in Ulysses.

Survivors include his parents, Ulysses; grandparents, Janelle Pinney, Ulysses and Teresa and Ramiro Garza, Ulysses; five uncles, Antonio Pinney, Efrain Pinney, Jaime Chavez, Ramiro Garza Jr. and Michael Garza, all of Ulysses; one aunt, Christina Garza, Ulysses; great-grandparents, Betty Pinney, LaCrosse, Ray Pinney, North Platte, Neb., Maria and Simon Rodriguez, Satanta, Vicienta Garza, Satanta; great-great-grandparents, Alta Pinney, North Platte, Neb., Paula Longoria, Acuna, Mexico, and many great-aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses with the Reverend Bill Harold and the Pastor Macario Garza presiding.

Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until noon Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

Memorials are suggested to Children's Mercy Hospital or Ronald McDonald House charities in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant, Ulysses, KS 67880.

JOHN WESLEY STANSBERRY

John Wesley Stansberry, 92, died Monday, February 2, 2004 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

Funeral services are pending and will be announced later by Miller Mortuary.

MOISES VASQUEZ

Moises Vasquez, 34, died Saturday, January 31, 2004, as a result of an auto accident in Pratt County.

He was born Aug. 25, 1969, to Moises and Paula (Carrera) Vasquez in Chichihualco, Gro., Mexico.

He married Viola Y. Munoz Jan. 26, 1994, in Burley, Idaho. She survives.

He had worked at National Beef.

He is also survived by one son, Angel Julian Vasquez, Liberal.

Vigil and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.

Burial will be at Chichihualco, Gro., Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Vasquez family for funeral expenses.

Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.

MIGUEL DUQUE-VASQUEZ

Miguel Duque Vasquez, 16, died Saturday, January 31, 2004, as a result of an auto accident in Pratt County.

He was born May 29, 1987, to Ernesto and Rafaela (Vasquez) Duque in Chichihualco, Gro., Mexico.

Vigil and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.

Burial will be at Chichihualco, Gro., Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Vasquez family for funeral expenses.

Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.

JUAN JOSE VASQUEZ

Juan Jose Vasquez, 30, died Saturday, January 31, 2004, as a result of an auto accident in Pratt County.

He was born Dec. 14, 1973, to Carmelo and Estella (Jimenes) Vasquez.

He was married to Maria Marlena Velez Avila. She and their their son, Alexis, both died in the same accident.

He worked at Seaboard Farms.

He is survived by one son, Juan Luis Vasquez, Liberal.

Vigil and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.

Burial will be at Chichihualco, Gro., Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Vasquez family for funeral expenses.

MARIA MARLENA VELEZ DE VASQUEZ

Maria Marlena Velez De Vasquez, 25, died Saturday, January 31, 2004, as a result of an auto accident in Pratt County.

She was born Aug. 6, 1978, to Rafael and Candida (Avila) Velez in Chichihualco, Gro., Mexico.

She was married to Juan Jose Vasquez. He and their son, Alexis, both died in the same accident.

She is survived by one son, Juan Luis Vasquez, Liberal.

Vigil and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.

Burial will be at Chichihualco, Gro., Mexico.

ALEXIS DANIEL VASQUEZ

Alexis Daniel Vasquez, 3, died Saturday, January 31, 2004, as a result of an auto accident in Pratt County.

He was born May 1, 2000, to Juan Jose and Maria Marlena (Velez) Vasquez.

His parents died in the same accident.

His is survived by one brother, Juan Luis Vasquez.

Vigil and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.

Burial will be at Chichihualco, Gro., Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Vasquez family for funeral expenses.
