LORNA ANN (BIRNEY) RUST
WICHITA -- Lorna Ann (Birney) Rust, 55, died Saturday, February 14, 2004.
She was born July 8, 1948, to Russell and Esther (Shuffelberger) Birney in Garden City.
She married Allen Rust Oct. 28, 1969, in Satanta. He survives.
She and her husband worked for Tradewind Industries and lived in Liberal from 1967 until 1975.
She was a member of the Midwest Historical Genealogical Society.
Other survivors include one son, Christopher and wife, Deanna, Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter, Melissa Rust, Wichita; one sister, Letty Williams and husband, Carl, Satanta; five grandchildren, Genesis, Shannon, Michael, Alex and Loranna.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Elmer C. Birney.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, 1600 West Twenty-seventh Street N., Wichita.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery
in Wichita.

KEVIN LEE GINN
PICAYUNE, MISS. -- Kevin Lee Ginn, 37, died Saturday, February 14, 2004, in Picayune.
He was born Dec. 18, 1966, to Edward Ginn and Phyllis (Curry) in Liberal.
He married Katherine Ginn. She survives.
He graduated from Goodland High School in 1985. He was a registered nurse for Chalmette Medical Center.
Other survivors include two sons, Axel Ginn, Colorado Springs, Colo; Isaiah Ginn, Picayune; one daughter, Trinity Ginn, Picayune; his father, Goodland; one brother, Christopher D. Ginn, Fort Atkinson, Wis.; six uncles, Jim Yates, Wichita, John Ginn, Goodland, Joe Ginn, Goodland, Mike Ginn, Trenton, Neb., Gene Curry, Colby, Larry Curry, Iowa; two aunts, Carol Mertas, Liberal, and Pat Rau, Hereford, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and his grandparents, Howard Curry, Sr. and Goldie (Tubbs) Curry.
Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 16 at Mill Creek Baptist Church in Picayune.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 3 p.m. at Beulah Cemetery
in Colby with the Pastor Scott Grimshaw presiding.
Burial will be at the Beulah Cemetery
in Colby.
Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at Koons Chapel in Goodland.

WAYNE HENSON
HUGOTON -- Wayne Henson, 68, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Garnand Funeral Home in Hugoton.
DAVID THANE LAHEY
MOSCOW -- David Thane Lahey, 47, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004, in rural Moscow.
He was born Oct. 9, 1956, to Vance Arthur and June Rose (Campbell) Lahey in Hugoton.
He married Angie J. Carroll Feb. 24, 1979, in Satanta. She survives.
He was a farmer.
He was a member of the Moscow United Methodist Church in Moscow, Southwest Kansas Irrigation Association and Kansas Corn Growers Association.
Other survivors include four sons, Christopher J. Lahey, Phoenix, Ariz., Thaddius A. Lahey, Mikhail W. Lahey and Brock E. Lahey, Route 1, Moscow; his parents, Route 1, Moscow; one brother, Thomas L. Lahey and wife, Patty, Route 1, Moscow; four sisters, Vana J. Campbell and husband, Doug, Ulysses, Sarah L. Schwien, Moscow, Darcy L. Kisling and husband, Kent, Burlington, Okla. and Becky Herrman and husband, Tony, Liberal; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at the Moscow United Methodist Church in Moscow with the Pastor Bill Ripley presiding.
Burial will be at the Moscow Cemetery
in Moscow.
Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton is in charge of arrangements.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday.
LUKE JAMES
Second Lieutenant Luke James, 24, Hooker, Okla. was killed in Iraq, January 27, 2004.
Burial was at Arlington National Cemetery
in Virginia in early February.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at the Hooker High School Gymnasium.

JAMES V. HOWELL
James V. Howell, 91, died Thursday, February 19, 2004.
He is survived by two duaghters, Karen Teaford, Pasadena, Calif. and Jamie Hunt and husband, Don, Wichita; one step-son, Larry Thogmartin and wife, Paulette, Coral Springs, Fla.; one step-duaghter, Jeanette Stuart and husband, Bob, of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Thelma Trimmell, Liberal; grandchildren, Dr. Robert Teaford and Chris Teaford; five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wives Opal and Delores.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Downing and Lahey Mortuary in Wichita.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at Downing and Lahey Mortuary in Wichita.

KELLY "DOC" COHOON
Kelly "Doc" Cohoon, 52, died Thursday, February 19, 2004, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.
He was born June, 18, 1951, to Jack W. and Phyllis C. (Kramer) Cohoon in Dodge City.
He married Debra Clark Aug. 7, 1976, in Kingman. She survives.
He was a 1999 graduate of Dodge City High School. He then graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, Ill. in 1973. He then graduated from Creighton Univeristy Dental School in 1979. He was a partner in Medical Heights Dental Care. He was active as a coach and contributed to basketball, and track programs including the renovation of the Memorial Stadium track. He officiated high school football for many years.
His hobbies included flying, hunting and fishing.
Other survivors include one son, Ty Cohoon and wife, Danielle, Hutchinson; one daughter, Kaely Rosel and husband, Eric, Oklahoma City, Okla.; one grandson, Peyton Cohoon, Hutchinson; his mother, Dodge City; one brother, Larry Cohoon and wife, Debra, Derby; one sister, Vicki Jean Sundberg and husband, Steve, Dodge City; two brother-in-laws, Max Clark, Kingman and Jef Clark and wife, Jane, Saudi Arabia; one sister-in-law, Kim Mason, Dodge City and mother-in-law, Vera Clark, Kingman.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Stacy Elizabeth Cohoon and his father.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday with Larry Williams and Gerald C. Rendel presiding.
Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. today at Swaim Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Dodge City High School Athletics in care of the funeral home.
CHARLES ROBERT "BOB" LONG
GARDEN CITY -- Charles Robert "Bob" Long, 46, died Thursday, February 19, 2004, at his home in Garden City.
He was born Jan. 31, 1958, to Charles William and Imogene Kathlean Bush Long in Garden City.
He was a resident of Garden City since the early 1950's moving from Liberal. He was a peer specialist for the Center for Independent Living and was a counselor and advisor for the disabled.
He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Garden City.
Survivors include one son, Robert Charles Bruhn, Liberal; his parents, Garden City; two brothers, Timothy S. Long, Liberal, and Kevin C. Long, Urbana, Iowa; two sisters, Ronda Munyan, Syracuse and Tamara S. Schwindt, Garden City; one granddaughter, Taylor Wortman, Liberal.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Misti Dawn Long.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Garden City with the Reverend Randy Caddell presiding.
Burial will take place at the Liberal Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Bob Long Memorial Fund in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.
BETTY J. CAMPBELL
Betty J. Campbell, 78, died Friday, February 20, 2004, at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.
She was born Oct. 10, 1925, to Monte Ernest (Joe) and Maude Drennan (Trebilcock) Eyman in Ford.
She married Richard C. Campbell Oct. 28, 1962, in Ulysses. He survives.
She was a Stanton County resident since 1927 and graduated from Johnson High School and attended Fort Hays State University. She taught for three years and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ulysses where she was a past Church Clerk and former President of ABW. She was also active in the Big Bow EHU and Stanton County Extension.
Other survivors include four sons, Patrick Barnes, Ulysses, Mike Campbell, Houston, Texas, Ron Campbell, Johnson, and Tony Campbell, Thorton, Colo.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jo Anne Pucket, Ulysses and Juanita Smith, Big Bow.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Rexroat.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Ulysses with the Reverend Barry Durkee presiding.
Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery
in Johnson.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
