NICHOLAS KIEL TAYLOR
Nicholas Kiel Taylor, 18, died Monday, February 9, 2004, in Tucson, Ariz.
He was born May 17, 1985, to Curtis and Melisa (Thornton) Taylor in Pheonix, Ariz.
He attended the Mesa, Ariz. schools and graduated from Skyline High School in 2003.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Tory and Cole of the home; grandparents, Belva Taylor, Jewell Thornton and Larry Thornton, Wichita; uncles and aunts Kory and Julie Krause, Liberal, Phil and Vicki Thornton, Emporia, Kim and Ron Gould, Kailua, Hawaii; great aunt and uncle Lisa and Danny Randall, Pheonix, and numerous cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Taylor.
HOWARD PAUL HOLT
Howard Paul Holt, 82, died Saturday, February 21, 2004, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born July 3, 1921, to LeRoy "Roy" and Winifred (Black) Holt in Mercer County, Mo.
He married Margaret La Von McIlrath Dec. 25, 1946, in Hugoton. She survives.
He was a Liberal resident since 1948, and graduated from Moscow High School in Moscow in 1940. He owned and operated Paul's T.V. and Appliance for 26 years before retiring. He served with the United States Army as a Tech. Sgt. during World War II.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Liberal and served as a deacon for many years. He was a former member of Noon Kiwanis.
Other survivors include one son, Larry Holt and wife, Jody, Liberal; three brothers, Earl Holt and wife, Phyllis, Woods, Jack Holt and wife, Violet, Kincaid, and Dale Holt and wife, Juliann, Stilwell; one sister, June Fincher and husband, Jim, Garnett; four grandchildren, Shawna and husband, Jeff Keeler, Morganville, Kelly Holt, Ft. Worth, Texas, Shayla Holt, Liberal, and Dylan Holt, Liberal; one great-grandchild, Rylee Jo Keeler.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robert "Bob" Holt.
Graveside services were at 4 p.m. Monday at Restlawn Cemetery
with the Reverend David Bagwell presiding. Military honors by Ft. Riley Honor Guard.

HERMAN H. HUSLIG
FOWLER -- Herman H. Huslig, 70, died Saturday, February 21, 2004, at Via Christi Hospital, Saint Francis Campus, Wichita.
He was born Jan. 12, 1934, in Claflin, to Joseph H. and Elizabeth M. Boor Huslig.
He married Norene J. Irsik May 2, 1964, in Dodge City. She died May 26, 1996. He then married Shelby Moore Bergkamp in Fowler. She survives.
He served in the United States Air Force. He was a retired plant superintendent for OneOK Gas Co., Minneola.
He was a member of the Saint Anthony's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus both of Fowler and the Moose Lodge of Dodge City. He was a 1952 graduate of Fowler High School.
Other survivors include; two sons, Carl, Kansas City, Mo. and Vaughn, Andover; two step-sons, MarkBergkamp, Fowler, and Mitch Bergkamp, Meade; three daughters, Cynthia Goodwyn, Tuscon, Ariz., Rebecca Bartkoski, Seneca and Kimberly Deatrick, Augusta; three step-daughters, Denise Koch, Protection, Michelle Applegate, Beaver, Okla. and Debbie Taylor, Wichita; 11 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence, Decatur, Ill. and Paul, Hutchinson; six sisters, Marjorie Gillen, Omaha, Neb., Leona Killingsworth, Lakewood, Colo., Marilyn Ostrander, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Alice Sheibemeir, South Hutchinson, Gloria Cassidy, Saint Francis and Evelyn Huslig, Fowler.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in Fowler.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m Tuesday, Feb. 24.
Friends may call until 5 p.m. today.
Burial will be at the Fowler Cemetery
in Fowler.

ERNEST "ERNIE" L. FISHER
MEADE -- Ernest L. Fisher, 49, died Friday, February 20, 2004, at his home in Meade.
He was born Feb. 22, 1954, to Elmer E. and Dorothy E. McPheter in Fisher.
He graduated from Meade High School in 1973, and spent most of his life in Meade. He was a farm laborer.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Meade.
He is survived by two sons, Mitch and Monty; his brother, Tom Fisher, Meade; one sister, Janie Chaloupek, Beaver, Okla.; five nephews, Justin, Leon and Ryon Fisher, Meade, Shane Chaloupek, Beaver, Okla., Shad Chaloupek and wife, Lizz, Beatrice, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother; Denton R. Fisher, and one niece, Sarah Chaloupek.
Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Meade United Methodist Church with the Reverend Susan Green presiding.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery
in Meade.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until noon Tuesday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary, Meade.

CARRIE LEE OWENS
Carrie Lee Owens, 87, died Monday, February 23, 2004, at the Liberal Good Samaritan Center.
She was born July 18, 1916, to Tom and Mary Carter Crawford in Winchester, Ark.
She married Levert Owens June 1941. He died in 1948.
She attended school at Winchester, Ark.
She was a home care worker for many years. She moved to Liberal in 1996 and was a faithful member of Bibleway Church of God in Christ in Liberal.
She is survived by three sons, Minister Artis Owens, McGehee, Ark., Minister Levert Owens, Liberal and J.C. Binns, Liberal; four daughters, Ruthie Owens, New York City, N.Y., Shirley Hackette, New York City, N.Y., Dorothy Greeley, Monroe, La.; Helen Burries, Amarillo, Texas; 35 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchilddren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, several grandchildren, her parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Graveside services will be at noon Friday at the New Light Missionary Baptist Cemettery in Dumas, Ark. with the Minister Artis Owens presiding.
Friends may call the Miller Mortuary until 8 p.m. today.
KEIGHTON RAE THOMPSON
Keighton Rae Thompson, 5-weeks-old, died Monday February 23, 2004, at her residence in Sublette.
She was born to Jerrydon and Brandy (Atkins) Thompson Jan. 15, 2004, in Liberal.
Survivors include her parents; one sister, Kiah Dawn Thompson, Sublette; her paternal grandfather, Fred Thompson, Springer, N.M.; her maternal grandparents, Theodore and Patricia Atkins, Las Animas, Colo.; one uncle, Zachary Atkins, Almosa, Colo.; two aunts, Amber Atkins, Aurora, Colo. and Shawna Atkins, Las Animas, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Anna Belle Thompson.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Christian Church in Sublette with the Minister David Erwin presiding.

Burial will be at the Solano Cemetery
in Roy, N.M. Saturday, with Rick Thompson presiding.
ANITA OUTLAND
Anita Outland, 69, died Tuesday, February 24, 2004.
She was born May 25, 1934, to Joe and Mary William Dorsey in Nevada, Texas.
She attended school in Nevada, Texas.
She lived in Dalhart, Texas and moved to Liberal in 1961 and was a cook at the LaFonda Restauraunt for many years.
She was a member of the All Nations Pentecostal Church in Liberal.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph James, Wichita, Randy Outland, Liberal; two daughters, Linda Graves and husband, Jerry, Katy, Texas and Willie Mae Watson, Gatesville, Texas; four grandchildren; one sister, Blanche Caton, Liberal and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the All Nations Pentecostal Church with the Reverend Jimmy Holman presiding.
Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery.
