EVERETT D. HAMBLIN

PRATT -- Everett DeLane Hamblin, 41, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at the Pratt Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 8, 1962, to Everett Dean Hamblin and Darleene Williams Hamblin in Hugoton.

Survivors include two sons, Alexander DeLane Hamblin, Pratt; Matthew Joseph Hamblin, Pratt; two brothers, Donald Hamblin, Derby; Darren Hamblin, Casper, Wyo.; and one godson, Gage Pratt, Larned.

He was preceded in death by his father and daughter, Alyshia Lyn Hamblin.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, march 13 at Larrison Mortuary in Pratt with Steve Triplett presiding.

Friends may call between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Larrison Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the Everett Hamblin Memorial Fund in care of Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, KS, 67124-3129.

Larrison Mortuary of Pratt is in charge of the arrangements.

BETTY F. TEETER

ULYSSES -- Betty F. Teeter, 79, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.

She was born Aug. 29, 1924, to John E. and Nina Beasley Slemp in Stevens County.

She married Ralph L. Teeter, Feb. 8, 1942 in Hugoton. He died March 2, 1982.

She graduated from Moscow High School in 1942, and then moved to Ulysses.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 471. She was also a member of the Sew and So Club, Junior Civic Club, P.T.A., 4-H Leader and the Do-Si-Do Square Dance Club in Ulysses.

She enjoyed sewing, crafts, square dancing, traveling, and gardening.

She is survived by one son, R. Lynn Teeter and wife, Tracy, Ulysses; one daughter, Carole Rodgers, and husband, Gene, Guymon, Okla.; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; two brothers, John R. (Bud) Slemp, Frontenac, Carl W. Slemp, Moscow; one sister, Peggy L. Merwin, Hurst, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses with the Reverend Dennis Livingston presiding.

Burial will be at Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.

Friends may call the Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Western Prairie Care Home or to the Grant County Senior Center in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant, Ulysses, KS 67880.

SHIRLEY M. DAY

Shirley M. Day, 68, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

She was born Sept. 4, 1935, to Harold and Opal O'Brien Adams.

She married Charles Day, Jr. March 8, 1958, in Liberal. He died March 13, 2003.

She was a homemaker and housewife. She had been a Liberal resident since her marriage.

She is survived by one son, Darren Day and wife, Lyn, Liberal;one daughter, Sherrie Atwell and husband, Doug, Perry, Okla.; nine grandchildren, Jeremiah, Joshua, Daniel, Ethan, Joseph, Sarah, Atwell, Jacob, Lindsay and Rebecca Day; one great-grandchild, Corbin Atwell; one sister, Bonnie O'Gorman and husband, Jack, Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Assembly of God Church with the Reverend Richard Martin presiding.

Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery.

Friends may call the Miller Mortuary until 8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday.

ROGER L. RHINE

Roger L. Rhine, 51, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, near Liberal in a car accident.

He was born Feb. 6, 1953, to Gilbert L. and Helena Luft Rhine in Sterling, Colo.

He graduated from Longmont, Colo. High School in 1971. He was a glass glazer. He was in the glass business since he was 13 years old.

He moved to Liberal in 1979, and was a manager for the Harding Glass Co. for nine years. He owned an operated the Arrow Glass Company for 13 years. At the present time, he was a commercial contractor.

He was a reserve police officer and fireman.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge No. 1947, Liberal Noon Lions Club, and the Liberal Club Men's Golf Association.

He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and golf.

He is survived by Lory Rhine, Liberal; one son, Travis Rhine; two daughters, Heidi Riley and husband, David, Liberal; Tina Rhine, Liberal; one granddaughter, Helena Johnson; one brother, Todd Rhine, Nebraska; three sisters, Sharon Brown and husband, Steve, Denver, Colo.; Nancy Stadler and husband, Tom, Broomfield, Colo.; Debbie Williams and husband, Randy, Cheney.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Liberal with the Reverend David Bagwell presiding.

Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call the Mill Mortuary until 8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Roger L. Rhine Educational Memorial Fund in care of the Community Bank or Miller Mortuary, 908 N. Lincoln, Liberal, KS 67901.

KATHERINE M. WRIGHT

MEADE -- Katherine Maxine Wright, 92, died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at Lone Tree Compassionate Care Center in Meade.

She was born Feb. 3, 1912, to Harold and Alice (Battin) Benedict in Laramie.

She married Clifford M. Wright March 13, 1937, in Buffalo, Okla. He died Jan. 23, 2000.

She had been a resident of Meade since 1950.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Presbyterian Church in Meade.

Survivors include two daughters, Jolene Pangon, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Maurine Herman, Overland Park; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Darrell Hullett in 2002.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Susan Greene presiding.

Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Meade.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of donor's choice in care of Fidler-Orme Mortuary, P.O. Box 70, Meade, KS 67864.

ELDON HIEBERT

MONTEZUMA -- Eldon Hiebert, 73, former Walnut Hill, Fla., resident, died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at Bethel Home Inc. in Montezuma, where he had been a resident since Oct. 15, 2003.

He was born Jan. 12, 1931, to John and Martha (Fricke) Hiebert in Newark Township, Gratiot County, Middleton, Mich.

He was a member of Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Walnut Hill, Fla.

Survivors include two sons, Vernon Hiebert and wife, Beth, Walnut Hill, Fla. and Tracey Hiebert and wife, Valerie, Yallahas St. Thomas, Jamaica; one daughter, Deila Hiebert, Pace, Fla, ; two brothers, Ben Hiebert and wife, Viola, Walnut Hill, and Delbert Hiebert and wife, Marjorie, Middleton, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Hiebert; two brothers, Obed and John Hiebert; and two sisters, Eva and Dessie Hiebert.

Local funeral arrangements were handled by Montezuma Funeral Home in Montezuma.

Funeral services will be conducted by Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, Ala.

CLARENCE O. OLDHAM

ULYSSES -- Clarence Omer Oldham, 91, died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at his daughter's rural home in Ulysses.

He was born Feb. 2, 1913, to Omer Clyde and Myrtle Mae (McMurray) Oldham in Vinita, Okla.

He married Marjorie Rider in 1945 in Clayton, N.M. She survives.

He served in the European theater with the U.S. Army in World War II.

He moved to Ulysses in 1962 from Clayton.

He was a farmer, and he worked for Collingwood Grain at Big Bow until 1978.

He was a member of the VFW, and the Charles B. Hart American Legion Post No. 79, both of Ulysses.

He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Ulysses.

Other survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Meyer and husband, David, rural Ulysses, and Kathy Pitts and husband, Randy, Tulsa, Okla.; Two sisters, Dorothy Thompson, Johnson, and Louise Rose, Graceville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Mike Meyer and wife, Stacey, Mark Meyer and wife, Elizabeth, all of Ulysses, Jill Pitts and Julie Pitts, both of Overland Park; three great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Oldham.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church in Ulysses with the Rev. Nicky Rider presiding.

Burial will be at Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses with military graveside services provided by Charles B. Hart American Legion Post No. 79.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Grant County Funeral Home in Ulysses.

Memorials are suggested to either First Assembly of God Church in Ulysses or St. Catherine Hospice in Garden City in care of Grant County Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Ulysses, KS 67880.
