ESTHER M. BAUERSFIELD

DENVER ­ Esther Mae Bauersfield, 86, Golden, Colo., formerly of Liberal, died Monday, April 5, 2005, in Denver, Colo.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Liberal Memorial Cemetery. Friends are welcome.

DAVID P. GILMORE

David P. Gilmore, 44, Liberal, died June 7, 2004, due to a motor vehicle accident.

He was born Sept. 13, 1959, to Jimmie D. and Marlene A. (Petz) Gilmore.

He married Cindy Velasquez on March 21, 1999, in Liberal. She survives.

He attended Liberal High School.

He was a superintendent for EOG Resources for the last four years. He also worked for Anadarko Petroleum for 22 years.

He was a member of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church and Country Club, both of Liberal.

He was a former board member and coach of Kids Inc., also of Liberal.

His hobbies included fishing, golfing and KU basketball.

Other survivors include his grandmother, EdNetta Crotts, Mesa, Ariz.; parents, Jimmie D. and Marlene A. Gilmore, Mesa, Ariz.; three sons, Jeremy Gilmore and wife Jenny, Omaha, Neb., Joshua Gilmore, Liberal, and Zac Moon, Liberal; two daughters, Tiffani Gilmore, Liberal, and Morgan Eichman, Liberal; four brothers, Randy Gilmore and wife Ginny, Scott Gilmore and wife Jennifer, Todd Gilmore and Darin Gilmore and wife Linda, all of Liberal; one sister, Tammie Katzenmeier and husband Travis, Mesa, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jerome and Josephine Petz.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, at the Liberal High School Auditorium with the Rev. Dr. James Shannon, formerly of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Liberal, presiding.

Burial will follow in the Liberal City Cemetery, Liberal.

Friends may visit until 9 p.m. today at the Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.

IMOGENE B. WILLIMON

PLAINS ­ Imogene B. "Jeannie" Willimon, 77, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at her residence in Plains.

She was born Aug. 17, 1926, to Francis M. and Essie M. Stillwell Defoor in Stephenville, Texas.

She married J.R. Willimon Oct. 4, 1945, in Frederick, Okla. He survives.

She attended school in Stephenville, Texas.

She was an inspection in quality control at National Beef Packing Company in Plains for 19 years, and, for the past 10 years she was a greeter at Wal-Mart in Liberal.

She was a member of the Otter Creek Baptist Church in Snyder, Okla.

Other survivors include six sons, Jimmy Willimon and wife Lana, Stinnett, Texas, Wes Willimon and wife Janet, Liberal, Alton Willimon and wife Sara, Kismet, Marshall Willimon, Satanta, and Ted Willimon and wife Jody, Omaha, Neb.; one daughter, Kathy Renee Mayo, Liberal; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ollie Mae Covington, Dallas, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Charlie Wayne Willimon, one grandson, Sean Willimon, four brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, at the Plains United Methodist Church, Plains, with Pastor George Henry presiding.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, at the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder, Okla.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Thursday. The casket will remain closed.

DAVID I. TINOCO

HUGOTON ­ David Ivan Tinoco, 5, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, in Hugoton.

He was born Sept. 29, 1998, to Santiago and Maria Guadalup (Gomez) Tinoco in Morelia, Mexico.

He was a member of the Monte Santo Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hugoton.

Survivors include his parents; his grandfather, Antonio Gomez, Mexico; two brothers, Cesar Santiago Tinoco and Erik Samuel Tinoco, Hugoton; one sister, Cecelia Janett Tinoco, Hugoton; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Santiago Tinoco, Josefina Garcia Tinoco and Maria Del Socorro Rodriguez Gomez.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Monte Santo Pentecostal Holiness Church, Hugoton, with Pastor Jorge Tinoco presiding.

Burial will be in the Moscow Cemetery, Moscow.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at the Monte Santo Pentecostal Holiness Church, Hugoton.

A memorial has been established for the family. Memorials may be mailed to Paul's Funeral Home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.

NOTE: The Imogene B. Willimon obituary is being rerun in today's paper due to an error in yesterday's issue.

IMOGENE B. WILLIMON

PLAINS ­ Imogene B. "Jeannie" Willimon, 77, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at her residence in Plains.

NORA B. HOLLENBACK

HUGOTON ­ Nora Beth Hollenback, 73, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, in rural Hugoton.

She was born Dec. 12, 1930, to James O. and Opal S. (Stoddard) Richardson in Liberal.

She married Eugene J. Hollenback March 1, 1947, in Clayton, N.M. He survives.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Hugoton.

She was a homemaker and a secretary at various businesses in the area.

She is also survived by one son, Mike Hollenback and wife Sandra, Gillette, Wyo.; three grandchildren, Michelle, Sheri and Shane; one great-grandson, Jamie; one brother, Jim Richardson, Tahlequah, Okla.; and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, at the First Christian Church, Hugoton with ministers Jeff Aenk and Harold Stoddard presiding.

Burial will be in the Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton.

SECUNDINO G. MELENDEZ

CUIDAD QUESADA, Costa Rica ­ Secundino Guerrero Melendez, 80, died May 21, 2004, in Cuidad Quesada.

He was born May 21, 1924.

He was a life long dairy farmer and rancher.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Rojas Gonzales; 10 children, Olivier Guerrero, Miami, Fla., Seidy Guerrero, Guatemala, Denise Guerrero, San Jose, Costa Rica, Addy Guerrero Tabb, Plains, Fransisco Guerrero, Cuidad Quesada, Costa Rica, Minor Guerrero, Aguas Zarcas, Costa Rica, Ricardo Guerrero, Guapiles, Costa Rica, Flor Guerrero, Rio Cuarto, Costa Rica and Oscar Cordava, Rio Cuarto, Costa Rica; and 18 grandchildren.

ELLIS KNIEF

SUBLETTE ­ Ellis "Arnold" Knief, 82, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center St. Francis Campus, Wichita.

He was born Aug. 15, 1921, to Conrad and Hazel (Burgess) Knief, near Ivanhoe in Haskell County.

He married Zelma Morris, June 19, 1949, in Lamar, Colo. She survives.

He graduated from Garden City High School and attended Garden City Community College.

He served his country in the United States Army, entering from Garden City in 1944 and spent most of his service time in the Philippines.

He managed an Army/Navy Surplus store in Lamar, Colo., before moving to Sublette. He owned and operated the Knief Clothing Store for more than 50 years in Sublette.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, chairman church board member and church treasurer.

He enjoyed visiting. He liked puzzles particularly math. He taught many young children how to do math puzzles. He liked to read history, and he enjoyed entertaining people.

He was a Sublette school board member, honorary member Sublette Rotary, and he served on the draft board. He entered the Beef Empire Days barbecuing contest in Garden City when it first started.

Other survivors include one son, Kurt Knief and wife Mary, Sublette; two grandchildren, Kadilyn and Kalin Knief; five step grandchildren, Donovan, Alicia, Jeremy, Kelly and Megan; 10 step great-grandchildren; two brothers, Chester Knief and wife Vera, Richardson, Texas, and Duane Knief and wife Joan, Garland, Texas; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dwight Knief and Maynard Knief.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Sublette, with Rev. Keith Fink and Rev. Abraham Aldape presiding.

Military graveside services will be conducted at the Haskell County Funeral Home, Sublette.

Friends may visit until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established for the United Methodist Church, Sublette. Memorials may be mailed to Haskell County Funeral Home, Box 607, Sublette, KS 67877.
