HAZEL N. HENRY
FOWLER Hazel N. Henry, 91, died Monday, June 21, 2004, at the Meade District Hospital, Meade.
She was born March 31, 1913, to Wilbur Justis and Mamie Jane (Thorp) Diehl in Salina.
She married George Lemuel Henry Aug. 10, 1933, in Oskaloosa. He died Oct. 20, 1961.
She was a retired nurse for Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Topeka.
Survivors include one son, Marvin Henry, Fowler; three daughters, Donna Bacon, Fowler, Marquita Cummings, Murfreesboro, Ark., and Judy Shipman, Littleton, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Lois Henry Comella, Topeka, and Eileen Lewis, Garfield, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Loren William Henry, one brother, Loyal Howard Diehl, and four sisters, Marguerite Hamlin, Catherine May, Gertrude Humbert and Rose Husted.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, at the Rochester Cemetery, Topeka, with Pastor Mike Fenton presiding.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Beam Senior Center in care of Fidler-Orme Mortuary, Meade.
EARL E. LOGANBILL
HESSTON Earl E. Loganbill, 82, died Sunday, June 20, 2004, at Memorial Home in Moundridge.
He was born Dec. 20, 1921, to Homer G. Loganbill and Mary E. Elliot in California, Mo.
He married Lois Elaine Slebert Aug. 3, 1947. She preceded him in death.
He then married Wilma Janzen Towes Aug. 29, 1987, in Newton. She survives.
He graduated from Missouri Public Schools and earned his bachelors degree from Bethel College.
Between 1942 and 1946, he served in CPS. He worked for Farmland Industries as a COOP organizer. Later, he and his first wife co-published the Solomon Valley Post in Beloit.
He was a member of the Faith Mennonite Church, Newton.
He was a strong advocate for peace and an understanding of pressing social issues. He was the co-founder of a study group on homosexual issues that met in the Newton area.
He was also a member of the international listening committee for the Mennonite Church dealing with sexuality. He enjoyed spending time reading and researching. He greatly looked forward to and enjoyed the Bethel College life enrichment series.
Other survivors include two sons, Jerry Loganbill, Austin, Texas, and Lorne Loganbill and partner Sterling Price, New York City; one daughter, Carol Logan, Austin, Texas; and two step-sons, Bruce Towes and family, McKinney, Texas, and Phillip Towes, New York City.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Albert Loganbill, one step-son, David Towes, two grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at Bethel Mennonite Church with Pastor Gordon Smith of the Faith Mennonite Church presiding.
A private burial will be in Beloit.

KEITH V. NEIFERT
BELOIT Keith V. Neifert, 73, died Sunday, June 20, 2004, at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit.
He was born Aug. 7, 1930, near Glen Elder.
He was a farmer and stockman.
Survivors include two sons, David Neifert, Seward, and Dennis Neifert, Liberal; one daughter, Wanda Dunn, Haysville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and friend Marlys Yarnell.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Janila Neifert-Smith.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at the McDonald Funeral Home, Beloit.
Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Glen Elder.
Friends may visit until 8 p.m. today at McDonald Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Club 86 or the Glen Elder American Legion.
WILLIAM LAMBERT
WICHITA William Lambert, 66, died Friday, June 18, 2004, at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.
He was born June 11, 1938, to George Ivan and Leota Swafford Lambert in Liberal.
He married Mary Hill May 30, 1987, in Norman, Okla. She survives.
He attended local schools.
He moved to Enterprise where he owned and operated Ehrsam Place Bed and Breakfast after working for 34 years for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Abilene, and was a Deacon and Elder in the Presbyterian Church
He was a member of the Liberal Masonic Lodge, Isis Shrine, Salina, served on the Crime Stoppers Board of Directors, and was past President of the Kansas Author's Club.
Other survivors include his mother; one daughter, Denise Bomberger and husband Roy, Rockwell, Texas; two step-sons, Blaine Trimmell, Edmond, Okla. and Boyd Trimmell, Oklahoma City, Okla.; one step-daughter, Brita Theriot, Prairieville, La.; four grandsons; and one sister, Linda Welliver, El Reno, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 19 at First Presbyterian Church, Abilene, with Reverend Robert Frasier presiding.
Burial will be at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Enterprise Library, the Dickinson County Historical Society or the Baker Arts Center in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, Abilene.
RALPH S. HOAGLAND
WICHITA Ralph Stanley Hoagland, 84, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004.
He was born November 8, 1920 to Homer and Lenora Coles Hoagland.
His wife of 63 years, Gladys Maudine Riepe Hoagland, preceded him in death.
He served in World War II in the Army Air Corps as navigator in the 345th Bombardment Group with the famed Air Apaches, 501 Bomb Squadron in the Pacific.
He later served in the 38th Bombardment Group during the occupation of Japan. He attained the rank of Captain.
He was a farmer and rancher early in life but became a math teacher in the Valley Center Schools and then as head of the math department of Wichita Heights High School until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Valley Center.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie Elaine and husband Vernon L. Gilliland, Liberal; and one grandson, Dr. Erin Gilliland, M.D., Kokomo, Ind.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and one son, Richard Ralph Hoagland.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday at First Baptist Church, 300 N. Ash, Valley Center, 67147.
Burial will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday at Sunnyside Cemetery, Sun City.
Friends may visit from 5p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church Building Fund.
KAY ELLIS
ELKHART Kay Ellis, 61, died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
She was born Sept. 25, 1942, to William Ross and Kathryn N. (Hendrickson) Gibbons in Lamar, Colo.
She married David L. Ellis July 6, 1960, in Raton, N.M. He died June 15, 2002.
She graduated from Elkhart High School.
She worked at the Morton County Courthouse as the deputy clerk for 32 years.
She enjoyed playing bingo, gambling and camping.
Survivors include one son, Allan Ellis and wife Kim, Santanta; one daughter, Dorinda Keating and friend Danny Fisher, Elkhart; six grandchildren, Kayla and Mark Espinoza, Aaron and Brittany Rhodes and Devin and Ross Ellis; one brother, Weldon Gibbons and wife Connie, Pierre, S.D.; one brother-in-law, Leon Ellis and wife Becky, Elkhart; one sister-in-law, Bernice Simmons, Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, David Lane.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday at the Elkhart Cemetery, Elkhart, with minister Darin Hamm presiding.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home, Elkhart.

LAWRENCE E. TURNER
ROLLA Lawrence Eugene Turner, 91, died Friday, June 25, 2004, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
He was born June 5, 1913, to Ernest Arthur and Minnie (Bell) Turner, in Oklahoma City.
He was a carpenter.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, IOOF Lodge and the Carpenter Union.
He had horses. He was an avid fan of John Wayne. He enjoyed the Oak Ridge Boys music. He was a collector of belt buckles. He was a quilt maker.
Survivors include family and friends.
Graveside services were at 10:30 a.m., today at the Moscow Cemetery, Moscow, with the Rev. Robert Bailey presiding.
