MARIAN B. MAYBERRY
ELKHART Marian B. Mayberry, 97, died Monday, July 5, 2004, in Austin, Texas.
She was born Jan. 18, 1907, to Willis and Avice Bollinger in Great Bend.
She married Willard Mayberry Aug. 11, 1929. He preceded her in death.
She attended Kansas University where she was affiliated with the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She was an active member of the PEO sisterhood and supported numerous scholarships at Emporia State University.
Marian and Willard purchased the Elkhart Tri-State News in the 1930s and soon followed with other business ventures, including a car dealership, rental properties and ranching.
She was in the women's circles of the Methodist Church.
She served as an officer of the library board.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Hilgers, Arvada, Colo., and Jocelyn (Jolly) Schram, Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Betty Carrey, Indiana, and Margaret Eldredge, Great Bend.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m., Friday at the Elkhart Cemetery
with the Rev. James L. Brackett presiding.
BRENDA J. RODRIGUEZ
ELKHART Brenda J. Rodriguez, 60, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
She was born Sept. 29, 1943, to Harrison and Joan (Wheeler) Cambern in Borger, Texas.
She married Joseph Rodriguez on May 14, 1962, in Elkhart. He survives.
She was a dispatcher for the Sheriff's office and worked part time at Leslie Liquor Store and Elkhart Laundry Mat.
She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, gambling and crocheting.
Other survivors include three sons, Mike Rodriguez and wife, Jan, Elkhart, Joel Rodriguez and wife, Shauna, Elkhart, and Buck Rodriguez, Liberal; one daughter, Jody Rodriguez and husband, Chavin, Elkhart; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Sherry Heller, Indianapolis, Ind., and Connie Frost, Pennsauken, N.J.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Danny Cambern, and one sister, Barbara Cashion.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday at Elkhart Cemetery, Elkhart, with the Rev. Francis Khoi Nguyen presiding.
Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., today at Garnand Funeral Home, Elkhart.

DANIEL J. KOEHN
MONTEZUMA Daniel J. Koehn, 85, died early Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at Bethel Home, Inc., in Montezuma.
He was born July 9, 1918, to John A. and Rachel (Koehn) Koehn in Fairview, Okla.
He married Frances D. Dirks Feb. 25, 1940, in Montezuma. She died Aug. 16, 1994.
He was a farmer, minister and a missionary in Africa.
He was a member of the Homeland Mennonite Church in Montezuma.
Survivors include two brothers, Harry Koehn, Livingston, Calif., and Ernest Koehn and wife Gladys, Montezuma; two sisters, Martha Ratslaff, Livingston, Calif., and Susanna Schmidt, Livingston, Calif.; and many relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday at the Homeland Mennonite Church in Montezuma with Ministers Donald Koehn II, Donald Koehn and Franklin Buller presiding.
Burial will be in the North Mennonite Cemetery
in Montezuma.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday and from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.

DAVID A. CURTIS
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. David Allen Curtis, 20, died Monday, July 5, 2004, at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center after being fatally wounded in a one-vehicle motorcycle accident.
He was born Dec. 11, 1983 to Verl and Debra Curtis in Liberal.
He graduated from Salida High School, Salida, Colo., in 2002. He then attended Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix. He received his degree with honors in July 2003.
He was employed with Trane Company in Colorado Springs, Colo., where he was part of a heating, ventilation and air conditioning troubleshooting team.
He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed four-wheeling in his jeep, snowmobiling, snowboarding, skiing, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his parents; three sisters, Amy Thorgesen, Salida, Colo., Darcy Curtis, Salida, Colo., and Beth Curtis, Salida, Colo.; his grandparents, Luther and Betty Boutz, Englewood; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arel and Hattie Curtis, Liberal.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Salida, Colo.
Friends may visit from 4 until 8 p.m., Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Salida, Colo.

GARLAND LEES
Garland Lees, 82, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at Southwest Medical Center.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at the United Methodist Church in Hooker, Okla. with the Rev. Rick Trobaugh presiding.
BETTY J. GRAFF
BEAVER, Okla. Betty Joe Graff, 69, died on Monday, July 12, 2004, in the Beaver County Nursing Home.
She was born April 20, 1935, to Herbert and Martha (Agan) Rogers in Chilicothe, Mo.
She married Leon Graff Sept. 29, 1956, in Lebanon, Mo. He died May 22, 1990.
She graduated from Lebanon (Mo.) High School.
She was a homemaker most of her life.
Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Lightner, Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Judy Lane, Lebanon, Mo., and Peggy Wilson, Lebanon, Mo.; and many relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Eddie Graff.
Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, at Pioneer Cemetery
with Jim Parker presiding.
Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery.
ROWENA A. DANIELS
Rowena A. Daniels, 49, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at Southwest Medical Center.
She was born April 1, 1955, to Harold and Irene Berlier Daniels in Las Vegas, N.M.
She graduated from Satanta High School in 1973 and later attended Hutchinson Community College.
She was a rancher and farmer with her father for many years, retiring in 1998.
She was a member of Sublette Southern Baptist Church and the Stitch and Chatter Club.
She enjoyed arts and crafts, collecting novelties, and she loved animals. She helped her daughter raise and show lambs for 4-H for several years.
Survivors include her parents, Harold and Irene Daniels, Wagon Mound, N.M.; one daughter, Jessica Lattimore and husband Vernal K., Goodland; one brother, Troy Daniels and wife Lori, Wagon Mound, N.M.; and two sisters, Gail Parker and husband Bob, Thomas, Okla., and Arlene Daniels, Wagon Mound, N.M.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday at Sublette Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Pearce presiding.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Monday at Hillside Cemetery, Wagon Mound, N.M., with the Rev. Steve Cloud presiding.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m., Friday and from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday at Miller Mortuary.

ROGER M. RUNDELL
Roger M. Rundell, 89, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at his home in Liberal following an extended illness.
He was born April 30, 1915, to Jesse and Bessie McGuire Rundell in Romulus, N.Y.
He married Wanda A. Irland on July 28, 1940, at The Little Church Around the Corner in New York City. She survives.
He graduated from high school in 1935.
He was one of the first group of 35 soldiers sent to open the Liberal Air Base in 1943. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was of the last group of soldiers to close the Liberal Air Base.
In 1945, he started work as an auto sales manager for Doll Motor Company. In 1979, he was top salesman for the state of Kansas and received a trip to Spain and London, flying the Concord. He retired in 1991.
He attended First Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of Fargo Lodge No. 300, Wichita Consistory and Shrine and Elks Lodge No. 1947, Liberal.
Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Miller Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Saville presiding.
Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery
with military honors by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.
Friends may call until 8 p.m., today and from 8 a.m. until service time Friday at the Miller Mortuary.
