KAY R. EVANS
PLAINS Kay R. Evans, 63, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, in Phoenix.
He was born Oct. 25, 1940, in Beaver, Okla., to Laurel Merl and Gladys Leola (Johnson) Evans.
He married Judith Carol "Judy" McGowan May 31, 1962, in Dighton. She died Nov. 2, 2000.
He attended Emporia State University where he received his undergraduate degree. He later entered into the United States Navy serving in Vietnam.
He was the Director of Environmental Services with Southwest Medical Center.
Survivors include one son, Glen A. Evans, Phoenix.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday at the Plains Christian Church with Pastor Brian Ingalls presiding.
Burial will be in the Plains Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., Friday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.
Memorials are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House of Amarillo, Texas, in care of the funeral home.
WYLIE R. GORE
ELKHART Wylie R. Gore, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, in Elkhart.
He was born April 24, 1924, to William C. and Adah L. (Fowler) Gore in Morton county.
He married Opal M. Rowland. She preceded him in death.
He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1942.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and later worked as a farmer and in commercial construction.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Elkhart.
He was a historian and antique collector and also enjoyed talking to people and going to the senior center.
Survivors include two sons, Rex William Gore and wife Debra, Austin, Texas, and John Paul Gore, Lamar, Colo.; two daughters, Adah "Kathy" Gore, Austin, Texas, and Betty Lee Johnson and husband Richard, Loveland, Colo.; five grandchildren, Nolan and Matt Gore, Frankie Marston, Christy Fudge and Dawn Kouns; three great-grandchildren; one brother, W. Paul Gore, Dalhart, Texas; and one sister, Twylah Fisher, Elkhart.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Debbie Jeanne Gore.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Elkhart Cemetery
with the Rev. James L. Brackett presiding.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by Elkhart V.F.W. Post No. 3162.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., Friday and from 8:30 until 9:30 p.m., Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.

Pete Pauls, 95, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at Southwest Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Adams, Okla., with the Rev. Odie Nunley presiding.
Burial will be in the Mennonite Brethren Cemetery
near Adams, Okla.
ALAN L. SULLIVAN
HUGOTON Alan Leon Sullivan, 52, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at Dodge City Medical Complex.
He was born April 11, 1952, to Thomas Richard and Verda Lenora (Campbell) Sullivan in Hugoton.
He married Robin Diane Young March 31, 1973, in Hugoton. She survives.
He was a farmer and rancher.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hugoton.
Other survivors include his mother; one son, Abel Sullivan, Hugoton; two daughters, Dr. Effie Gaskill and husband Dax, Hugoton, and Hannah Murray and husband Seth, Lander, Wyo.; one granddaughter, Frances Gaskill, Hugoton; one brother, Richard Sullivan and wife Linda, Hugoton; one sister, Mary Ann Matthews and husband Clarence, Garden City; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Richard Sullivan.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Hugoton with the Rev. Greg Lindenberger presiding.
Burial will be in the Hugoton Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Paul's Funeral Home.

ORA L. MCCULLEY
MOSCOW Ora L. McCulley, 88, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at Via Christi St. Joseph Campus Hospital in Wichita.
He was born March 26, 1916, to Glen Carl and Eva Margret (Skinner) McCulley in Seward County.
He married Myrtle Shuck Dec. 29, 1951, in Cimarron. She survives.
He was a farmer.
He worked as a mechanic for Pontiac and GMC in Garden City for six years. He had switched water for irrigation in Southwest Kansas and the Oklahoma Panhandle since 1967.
He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge in Liberal, a charter member of Pioneer Electric and Pioneer Communication, both of Ulysses, and the Satanta Roping Club.
He enjoyed square dancing.
Other survivors include one son, Mike McCulley, Moscow; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Bessie Watson and Fern Sessler, one brother, Lee McCulley, and a nephew, Neal McCulley.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m., Sunday at the Moscow Cemetery
with Pastor Larry Bradford presiding.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday at Paul's Funeral Home.

DOROTHY B. BAAB
HUTCHINSON Dorothy B. Baab, 93, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at the Hospice House in Hutchinson.
She was born Sept. 19, 1910, to Aaron Thomas Bass and Clara Lovernia Irelan Bass near Iliff, Colo.
She married Robert Sinclair Baab June 8, 1932, in Eaton, Colo. He died Oct. 22, 1992.
She received her undergraduate and masters from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo.
She was a retired public school teacher with Wells County School District No. 1 in Wells County, Colo.
She was a member of the Gilcrest Baptist Church of Gilcrest, Colo., and attended the Westbrook Baptist Church of Hutchinson.
Survivors include two sons, David Bass Baab, Phoenix, and John Albert Baab, Salvador, Brazil; two daughters, Ruth Ann Pearson, Hutchinson, and Roberta Baab, Winter Park, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday at Adamson Funeral Home Chapel in Greeley, Colo.
Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery
in Greeley, Colo.

CALVIN C. TURBES
Calvin C. Turbes, 86, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at his residence in Omaha, Neb.
He was born Feb. 8, 1918, to Mathias and Lydia (Yackel) Turbes in New Ulm, Minn.
He was a professor in the School of Medicine at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.
Survivors include his wife Eileen (Cooper) Turbes; five sons, Mark Turbes and wife Lynn, Mankato, Minn., John Turbes and wife Deb, Santa Maria, Calif., Peter Turbes and wife Janet, Spring, Texas, Paul Turbes and wife Cindy, Omaha, Neb., and Bernie Turbes and wife Sheila, Omaha, Neb.; four daughters, Mary Margaret and husband John Friel, Quincy, Mass., Beth and husband Loren Holmes, Murray, Neb., Nancy Shimerdla, Omaha, Neb., and Barbara Turbes, Omaha, Neb.; 23 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Turbes, Spanaway, Wash.; two sisters, Marion Freeman, Minneapolis, and Donna Turbes, Minneapolis; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathias and Lydia (Yackel) Turbes, four brothers and one sister.
Vigil service was at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17, at West Center Chapel in Omaha, Neb.
Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m., Saturday at St. Joan of Art Catholic Church in Omaha, Neb.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery
in Omaha, Neb.
