HELEN F. BRIDGES

MEADE ­ Helen F. Bridges, 82, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, in Magnolia, Texas.

She was born March 20, 1922, to George Irvin and Vivian (Anderson) Bush in Winfield.

She married John Lewis Bridges, Jr., April 3, 1947, in Meade. He died April 12, 1999.

She was a teacher at Meade Elementary School. She was a graduate of Southwestern College in Winfield.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Meade.

Survivors include one son, David Bridges and wife Barbara, Magnolia, Texas; one daughter, Janis Phelps and husband Patrick, Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas A. Bush, Wichita.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Irvin Bush.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Meade with the Rev. Susan Greene presiding.

Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday in the Graceland Cemetery in Meade.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.

Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in care of the mortuary.

CHRISTINE P. NOON

Christine "Kay" Posl Noon, age 84 of Sebring, Florida passed away on Friday October 8, 2004. Memorial services were held Oct. 12, 2004 in Sebring. Christine was born in Floris, OK April 8, 1920. She graduated from Greenough High School and attended business school at Salt City Business College in Hutchinson, KS.

She and her sister Rose lived in Chicago where Rose was a dress designer and Christine worked as a stenographer. She moved to Washington, D.C. and was employed as a patent clerk for the federal government. After her marriage to Richard Paul Noon in Arlington, VA the couple made their home in Florida and settled in Sebring Falls Estates in 1978. She was a generous and giving person, a Christian and a member of the Sebring Falls Homeowners Association.

She played the piano and sang in the Chorale. Christine is survived by her sister, Clara (Max) McMullan and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick, parents Mathias and Lena Posl, sisters Mary, Anna, Fannie, Rose and Leta and her brothers Bill and Henry. Burial will be in the Midway Cemetery in Floris, OK beside her husband.

BENNIE J. LOCK

Bennie J. Lock, 53, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at his residence in Lee's Summit, Mo.

Services will be at 9 a.m., Saturday at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Grain Valley, Mo.

Burial with military honors in "Jackson County Veteran's Field of Honor will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Grain Valley, Mo.

Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home.

SERGIO TINOCO

HUGOTON ­ Sergio Tinoco, 35, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center St. Francis Campus in Wichita as a result of a truck wreck.

He was born April 12, 1968, to Santiago and Josefina (Garcia) Tinoco in Morelia-Mich, Mexico.

He married Lucy Martinez June 8, 1991, in Hugoton. She survives.

He was a tool pusher for Murfin Drilling Company.

He was a member of Monte Santo Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hugoton.

He loved his family and enjoyed being with his boys. He enjoyed his dog, Baby.

He was an avid golfer.

He enjoyed traveling.

Other survivors include three sons, Sergio Isaac Tinoco, Israel Isaai Tinoco and Misael Mesak Tinoco, all of Hugoton; six brothers, Jose Tinoco, Jorge Tinoco, Santigo Tinoco, Juan Tinoco, Martin Tinoco and Arturo Tinoco, all of Hugoton; two sisters, Maria De Jesus Gomez, Morelia-Mich, Mexico, and Maria Delus Angeles Alfaro, Hugoton; and many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, David Ivan Tinoco.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday at the First Christian Church in Hugoton with Pastor Jorge Tinoco presiding.

Burial will be in Hugoton Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday at Paul's Funeral Home. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the Monte Santo Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hugoton.

Memorials are suggested to the family and may be mailed to Paul's Funeral Home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.

ARLONE W. MAST

ULYSSES ­ Arlone W. Mast, 71, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at Bob Wilson Memorial Grant County Hospital in Ulysses.

She was born May 10, 1933, to Robert Lloyd and Eva Marjorie (Marcy) Warren in Decorah, Iowa.

She married Dan D. Mast, Jr., April 10, 1971, in Cresco, Iowa. He died Nov. 5, 1996.

She worked as a housekeeper at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses for several years.

She was a baby sitter for years.

She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Ulysses.

She loved her family and enjoyed her grandchildren.

Her hobbies were arts, crafts, arranging flowers and going to garage sales.

Survivors include three sons, Wayne Hultz, Nashville, Tenn., Robert Warren and wife Tink, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Larry Lucas, Cisco, Texas; five daughters, Debbie Lange and husband Mike, Morrison, Ill., Karen McIntyre and husband Doug, Bluffton, Iowa, Julie Mast, Nashville, Tenn., Debbie Showers and husband John, Ulysses, and Wanita Wise, Ulysses; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Kathy, one grandson, Nicholas Nathan Mast, one son-in-law, Eddie Wise, one brother, Robert Warren, and one sister, Marcella Farr.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday at Free Will Baptist Church in Ulysses with the Pastor James Ward presiding.

Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Grant County Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to either the family or Free Will Baptist Church and may be mailed to Grant County Funeral Home, 218 S. Main, Ulysses, KS 67880.

LOIS FOSS MUNSON

Lois Foss Munson passed away peacefully on October 20th in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was born in Le Mars, Iowa on October 12, 1924 to Joseph and Viola Walz.

After graduating from Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa she married Robert P. Foss July 22, 1946. Bob Foss was a local businessman in Colorado Springs for forty years until his death in 1986. Lois married Dr. James Munson on December 30, 1988. Lois is survived by her loving husband Jim Munson and a brother Donald Walz.

She is also survived by her daughter Lynn Jones of Colorado Springs, son John Foss of Turpin, Oklahoma, daughter Debra Coon of Sheridan, Wyoming and son James Foss of Casper, Wyoming. In addition, Lois is survived by ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A rosary is scheduled for Monday, October 25th at 6:00pm at Swan-Law Funeral Directors and a Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, October 26 at 10:00am at St. Paul's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association: 419 Tejon Street, Colorado Springs, Co.

VIOLA MURPHY

SUBLETTE ­ Viola Murphy, 80, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at her residence in Sublette.

She was born Oct. 3, 2004, to Conley and Minnie Velma (Glenn) Oxford in Bentonville, Ark.

She married George Murphy Aug. 25, 1941, in Nesho, Mo. He survives.

She worked as a nurse aid at Satanta District Hospital.

She was an active part of Hi Plains Engines in Sublette.

She was a member of Garden Valley Sams Camping Club in Garden City.

She loved her family and enjoyed being with them.

She enjoyed making quilts and dolls.

Other survivors include one son, George Edwin Murphy and wife Donna, Knightsen, Calif.; one daughter, Clara Russom and husband James, Sublette; four grandchildren, Gary Murphy, James Murphy, Jennifer Russom Love and Chris Russom; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Love and Haley Murphy; three brothers, Albert Oxford and wife Carrie, Dodge City, William Oxford and wife Bobbi, Littleton, Colo., and Leonard Oxford and wife Edith, Ulysses; three sisters, Geraldine Ribbing, Scott City, Ida Mae Davis, Scott City, and Velma Campbell and husband Greg, Garden City; and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one foster daughter, Mary Alice Murphy Clymer, and one brother, J.D. Oxford.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Southern Baptist Church in Sublette with Ministers Dan Pearce and Joe Dunlap presiding.

Burial will be in the Haskell County Cemetery in Sublette.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Haskell County Funeral Home.

LAURA S. UNRUH

MONTEZUMA ­ Laura Schmidt Unruh, 97, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at her daughter's home in Arkansas City.

She was born Dec. 18, 1906, to Abraham and Dena (Eck) Nightengale in Orienta, Okla.

She married Albert F. Schmidt March 7, 1926, in Fairview, Okla. He died June 1, 1965.

She then married De Dan Unruh in 1970. He preceded her in death.

She and Albert farmed at Montezuma until his death.

She was a member of the Faith Mennonite Church in Montezuma.

She loved her family and enjoyed being with them.

Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, flowers and singing.

She enjoyed being around people.

Survivors include one son, Chester A. Schmidt and wife Deborah Sue, Arlington; two daughters, Ada Sala, Jay, Okla., and La Vona Morrison, Arkansas City; three step sons, Leland Unruh, Haysville, Nolan Unruh, Clinton, Okla., and Arlin Unruh, Liberal; two step daughters, Evelyn Mulhern, Weatherford, Okla., and Helen Bamberg, Covington, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one niece, Viola Unruh, Montezuma; and many relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Charles and Alton Schmidt, and one sister, Rebecca Schmidt.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Faith Mennonite Church in Montezuma with Minister Ervey Unruh presiding.

Burial will be in the North Mennonite Cemetery with Minister Charles Schmidt presiding.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Montezuma Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospice Care of Kansas in Winfield or the Mennonite Central Committee and may be mailed to Montezuma Funeral Home, Box 421, Montezuma, KS 67867.
