SHIRLEY I. BOWEN
Shirley I. Bowen, 73, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at her residence in Goodland.
She was born Aug. 6, 1931, to Carl Talley and Myrtle (Rowley) Talley in Goodland.
She married Carl Bowen Jan. 20, 1951, in Goodland. He survives.
She graduated from Goodland High School.
She worked for USD 352 in food service.
She worked with her husband at Elks Lodge 1528 and at Veterans of Foreign Wars Lowell Coleman Post No. 1133.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the chancel choir. She was also a Sunday school teacher.
She was a member of V.F.W. Lowell Coleman Post No. 1133 Auxiliary.
She enjoyed working in her yard, doing arts and crafts and crocheting.
Other survivors include one son, William Bowen, Goodland; three daughters, Susan Scott and husband Rod, Goodland, Joan Underhill and husband Frank, Liberal, and Carol Underhill and husband Keith, Hill City; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Hines and husband Robert, Goodland, and Linda Goalden and husband Jim, McPherson; one sister-in-law, Velda Bramer, Goodland.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Bobby Lee Talley.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Mountain time Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Goodland with the Rev. Janet Hernandez presiding.
Burial will follow in Goodland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Mountain time today and from 10 a.m. to noon Mountain time at Koons Chapel and before the service at the church.

VERA LOU PINLEY RUSH
Vera Lou Pinley Rush, 41, died Saturday, November 6, 2004, at her home in Atlantic Beach, Florida. Born in Hollister, California on September 15, 1963, she grew up in Turpin, OK and lived most of her life in the Liberal area. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1994 and was a member of the Calvary Fellowship Christian Church. She is survived by her husband Robert Rush, Atlantic Beach, FL.; four sons, Frankie Shanks, Tyler Pinley, Travis Rush and Zackary Rush, all of Atlantic Beach, FL.; five daughters, Alisha Weatherby Davis, Liberal, KS, Holly Green, Noble, OK, Chantel Luebbers, Brianna Rush and Laci Rush all of Atlantic Beach, FL.; one step son, Randy Rush, Atlantic Beach, FL; one grandchild, Destiny Weatherby, Liberal, KS; her father, Ted J. McDade, Sr., Byars, OK; four brothers, Gary McDade, Oklahoma City, OK, Joey Pinley, Ada, OK, James McDade, Newcastle, OK, Teddy Joe McDade, Jr., Norman, OK; two sisters, Lynn Burton, Westland, MI, Terri Moore, Jonesboro, AR; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jimmy Lou McDade.
Vera was a dedicated wife and mother and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held November 11 at the Chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home followed by burial at Arlington Park Cemetery
in the Garden of Blessing, Jacksonville, Florida. Pallbearers included James McDade, Teddy McDade, Frankie Shanks, and Troy Halter.
BILL FORBES
Bill Forbes, 72, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at his daughter's residence in Wichita.
He was born Oct. 19, 1932, to Earl L. and Ida A. Sexton Forbes in Muleshoe, Texas.
He married Donella Kirby March 2, 1952, in Clovis, N.M. She died June 11, 2003.
He was an electrician working for National Beef Packing and retired in 1994 from Nash-Finch and to present he was a partner in a fencing business in Liberal.
He served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was a bowler.
Survivors include one son, Jay Forbes and wife Pam, Wichita; four daughters, Jan Bender and husband Mike, Tulsa, Okla., Donna Brown, Wichita, Connie Seymore and husband Kevin, Wichita, and Judy McNabb, Liberal; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Sara, Wanda and Faye and husband Glenn.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Miller Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Odle presiding.
Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to service time Saturday at Miller Mortuary.
IRIS E. LANE
Johnson -- Iris Elizabeth (Edmisson) Lane, 75, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson.
She was born May 29, 1929, to Felix and Maude J. (Reynolds) Edmisson in Ashland.
She married Galen Lane May 20, 1946, in Garden City. He survives.
She worked at the Stanton County Courthouse as a deputy county clerk. She was also a secretary for attorneys Lee Nordling and LaVerne Fiss. She also worked as the secretary for the superintendent of schools for Johnson Schools U.S.D. 452.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and UMW, both of Johnson.
She was a member of Futorum Club and Daisy Chain Club, both of Johnson.
She enjoyed her family, sewing, crocheting, crafts and reading.
Other survivors include two daughters, Wynn Cockrum and husband Darrell and Penny Tucker, all of Johnson; six grandchildren, Ashley Fiss, Hugoton, Wade Tucker, Johnson, Dick Cockrum, Arvada, Colo., Con Cockrum, Lakewood, Colo., Ward Tucker, Madison, Wis., and Jennifer Haaga, Lawrence; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Anna Mae Lewis, Mona Winger, both of Johnson, and Felicia Rae Wheeler, Wichita.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Johnson with the Rev. Glenn Fogo presiding.
Burial will follow in Stanton County Cemetery
in Johnson.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home of Johnson.

DALTON L. DENOYER
WATSEKA, Ill. -- Dalton Lee Denoyer, 7, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at his home in Watseka, Ill.
He was born Oct. 28, 1997, to Russell and Barbara Barney Denoyer in Watseka, Ill.
He attended First Christian Church in Watseka, Ill.
He enjoyed playing T-ball, soccer, coloring and riding his dirt bike.
Survivors include his parents; grandmothers, Shirley Denoyer, Paxton, Ill., and Aggie Wendel, Marinton, Ill.; uncles and aunts, Tony Denoyer, Lakewood, Colo., Joe Denoyer, Liberal, Jeff Denoyer, Watseka, Ill., Robert Denoyer, Austin, Texas, Tim Denoyer and Keith Smith, both of Champaign, Ill., Josh Denoyer, Watseka, Ill., Tina Anderson, Rantoul, Ill., Brenda St. Peter, Donovan, Ill., and Bill Barney, Springfield, Ill.; step aunts and step uncles, Kim McCullough, Clarendon Hills, Ill., Doug McCullough, Chicago, Carla Kilgore, Watseka, Ill. and Michele Sawyer, Bloomington, Ill.; one sister, Cheyenne Denoyer of the home; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Shirley Barney, and his cousins, Shane Denoyer and Harold Denoyer.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 at the First Christian Church in Watseka, Ill., with Pastor David Todd presiding.
Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery
in Watseka, Ill.

HELEN J. FORESMAN
ULYSSES -- Helen J. Foresman, 79, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Western Prairie Care Home of Ulysses.
She was born Dec. 18, 1924, to Floyd and Bessie (Richardson) Bangs in Liberal.
She married Robert E. Foresman Aug. 15, 1943, in Lakin. He survives.
She graduated from Grant County Rural High School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Country View Baptist Church of Ulysses.
She worked with the Hospital Service League of Ulysses.
Other survivors include one son, M.R. Foresman and wife Nancy, Johnson; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Peggy Tarbet and Jane Eddie, both of Ulysses.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Beverley Foresman and one brother, Merle Bangs.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ulysses Cemetery
with the Rev. Sam Bynum presiding.

BILL G. GOOD
MONTEZUMA -- Bill Gene Good, 72, died Nov. 15, 2004, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.
He was born May 6, 1932, to Earl and Juanita (Henderson) Good in Cimarron.
He married Margaret McCune Aug. 3, 1952, in Montezuma. She survives.
He was a farmer and rancher.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montezuma.
He was a Gray County Commissioner and a member of both the Credit Union Board and the Co-op Board.
Other survivors include his mother; two sons, Steve Good and wife Karin, Montezuma, and Todd Good and wife Wendy, Shawnee; six grandchildren, Teddy and Jason Whisler, Tyson and Amanda Good and Rusty and Holly Good; one great-granddaughter, Addison Whisler; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Larry Good.
Funeral services will at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Montezuma with the Rev. Gene Eshleman presiding.
Burial will be in Cimarron Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
