GARY W. MCCURRY
LANGDON -- Gary W. McCurry, 62, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at his residence in Langdon.
He was born June 7, 1942, to Jay and Florence (Whitman) McCurry in Russell.
He graduated from Russell High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his mother; one daughter, Sherah McCurry, Baldwin City; three sisters, Jackie Zimmerman, Denver, Connie Slemp and husband Larry, Hugoton, and Mary Holterman, Amarillo, Texas; and special friend, Dixie Withers, Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home with the Rev. Rockey Ratts presiding.
A memorial service will be in Hutchinson at a later date to be announced.

HELEN J. BLINKER
Helen J. Blinker, 97, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at Southwest Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 11, 1907, to August and Philomena (Pechacek) Marek in Yoakum, Texas.
She married Jerry P. Blinker July 22, 1929, in Shiner, Texas. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal and a former member of St. John's Catholic Church and Altar Society, both of Borger, Texas.
She was also a member of Garden Club, Extension Club and Ceramic Club, all of Borger, Texas.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Blinker, Liberal; two daughters, Jere Welch and husband Vernon, Liberal, and Mary Garrison and husband Slim, Amarillo, Texas; six grandchildren, Barbara Hood, Mechille Bertucci, Matt Garrison, Eric Welch, Chris Welch and Amber Welch; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Hood and Isabel Bertucci; and one sister, Gussie Ballinger, Dallas.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Rex Petty and Father Patrick Keyes presiding.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Westlawn Cemetery
in Borger, Texas.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home of Liberal.

ROBERT SARGENT
Robert "Bob" Sargent, 75, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at his residence in Liberal.
He was born May 13, 1929, to Robert W. and Cecilia Heimer Sargent in Payson, Okla.
He married Dorothy L. Portlock Blair Oct. 14, 1969, in Miami, Okla. She survives.
He graduated from Meeker High School in Meeker, Okla.
He worked in the oil field in Springfield, Colo., where he began Sargent Casing Pulling Services.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Meeker, Okla.
He was a fisherman.
Other survivors include four sons, Lindell Blair, Irving, Calif., Terry Blair, Liberal, Doug Blair, Liberal, and Jack Blair, Dalhart, Texas; six daughters, Caren Hantz, Freemont, Calif., Cathy Sargent, San Jose, Calif., Susan Wilson, Mesa, Ariz., Sandra Kilgore, Liberal, Marsha Younger, Derby, and Pam Clark, Hartley, Texas; 24 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Violet Horton, Springfield, Mo., and Betty Foley, Clearwater, Fla.; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Chris Sargent, and one granddaughter, Melody Reed.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Liberal with the Rev. Randy Cook presiding.
Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Mortuary.
DEWEY HARRIS JR.
ELKHART -- Dewey Harris Jr., 60, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at his residence in Elkhart.
He was born Sept. 8, 1944, to Dewey Vernon Sr. and Beatrice Winifred (Miller) Harris in Brewer, Maine.
He married Helen Vivian Lane June 26, 1965, in Bloomington, Ind. She survives.
He graduated from Bloomington High School in Bloomington, Ind., in 1962.
He attended Bible Baptist College in Springfield, Mo., graduating in 1971.
In 1996, he graduated with a Bachelor of Theology and a Master of Arts and Biblical Studies, a Master of Divinity degree in 1998 and a Doctorate of Ministry in 2000, all at the Louisiana Baptist Theology Seminary.
He joined and became pastor of the First Baptist Church in Elkhart in 1994.
He served as a Missionary to Haiti from 1982 to 1989 and a Missionary to Mexico from 1990 to 1994.
Other survivors include his father; one son, James Harris, Edmond, Okla.; three daughters, Jennell Woods, Oklahoma City, Julie Weatherly, Edmond, Okla., and Sharon Woods, Mustang, Okla.; three grandsons, Daniel Woods, James Woods and Aaron Woods; one granddaughter, Hannah Woods; three brothers, Jeff Harris, Louisville, Ky., Dana Harris, Phoenix, and Paul Harris, Indianapolis; and one sister, Janice Wray, Bloomington, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Elkhart with the Rev. John Kissell and the Rev. Lynn Sparkman presiding.
Burial will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Cemetery
in Oklahoma City with the Rev. Rocky Harrell presiding.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Elkhart.

CHARLES BROWNE
Charles "Jerry" Browne, 74, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 2, 1930, to Dane D. and Mildred O. (Davis) Browne in Liberal.
He married Vera J. Southern Nov. 14, 1953, in Liberal. She survives.
He graduated from Liberal High School in 1948.
He was a well tester for McBride Engineering, and he also worked in the restaurant industry.
He served with the Army National Guard for several years in the early 1950s.
He was a member of Liberal Elks Lodge BPOE No. 1947 and the Masonic Lodge of Sublette.
Other survivors include one son, Douglas Browne, Liberal; one daughter, Janelle Browne, Sammanish, Wash.; one brother, Eugene Browne and wife Nancy, Alamo, Nev.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Prater presiding.
Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.

Thelma F. "Tick" Redmond, 80, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, in Liberal.
She was born May 6, 1924, to Charlie and Mary Klinge Abbott in Leoti.
She was a server at the Liberal High School cafeteria.
She enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors include one son, John Warren and wife Karen, Satanta; two daughters, Carolyn Rice and husband Jim, Branson, Mo., and Shirli Poulton and husband Skeet, Liberal; 16 grandchildren, Jon Armstrong and wife Lynette, Michelle Armstrong, Janet Ceniceros, Sandra Warren, Shelisa Allen, Buck Rodriguez, Skeety Poulton and wife Katie, Paul Poulton and wife Beverly, Brent Poulton and wife Molly, Cyndi Poulton, Selena Sena and husband Anthony, Tammie Baray and husband Carlos, Charlie Baker Jr., Melissa Rice, Jim O'Connor and Brian Rice and wife Lynn; 20 great-grandchildren, Jasmine Mitchell, Lucas and Garrett Poulton, Lucy Acevedo, Michael Sena, Logan, Ryan and Bobbie Baker, Chance and Kody Poulton, Taylor Mireliz, Eric, Jacob and Caitlin Poulton, Jace and Dawson Armstrong, Brandon Parks, Justin Archidez and wife Kristi, Jamie Padilla and husband Joe, Jennifer Archidez, MacKenzie Garcia and May Briesno; two great-great-grandchildren, Marissa Sena and Jayleen Padilla; one sister-in-law, Susie Herron, Natchez, Miss.; and one brother, Orval Abbott and wife Angie, Liberal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters and one son, Charlie Baker Sr., and one great-great-grandson.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Chapel with the Rev. Rusty Callahan presiding.
Burial will be at a later date.
