JOHN R. CARRILLO

ULYSSES -- John R. Carrillo, 60, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

He was born Aug. 16, 1944, to Frank and Emeteria (Reyes) Carrillo at Olney Springs, Colo.

Survivors include four sons, John Paul Carrillo and Anthony LeRoy Carrillo, both of Liberal, and Francisco Carrillo and Richard Carrillo, both of Pueblo, Colo.; four daughters, Cynthia Villa, Clayton, Okla., and Frances Navarro, Mary Alice Acosta and Debra Jane Carrillo, all of Liberal; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Frank Carrillo and Grable Carrillo, both of Johnson, Tony Carrillo, Ulysses, and Cruz Carrillo, Denver; and four sisters, Ramona Dominguez, San Angelo, Texas, Ciprano Bazan, Washington State, Ruth Partida, Johnson, and Lupe Beltran, Ulysses.

He was preceded in death by his parents one son, Teddy Carrillo, and one sister, Annie Valdez.

Vigil service will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses. --

Funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses with the Rev. Jim Dieker presiding.

Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home of Ulysses.

CLAUDE H. PEEK

Claude H. Peek, 95, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Beaver County Nursing Home in Beaver, Okla.

He was born Jan. 4, 1909, to William M. and Nellie D. Woodring Peek in Stafford.

He married Ruth M. Harvey July 26, 1953, in Clayton, N.M. She survives.

He worked at the warehouse of the Blakemore Brothers, which later became Ideal Foods Allied Foods Nash Finch. Following retirement, he continued contract labor at the warehouse until 1992.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

Other survivors include one son, Bobbie Peek, Liberal; two daughters, Deborah Myers and husband LeeDon, Portales, N.M., and Carla Loftis and husband Edward, Roosevelt, Utah; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Fern Graber, Liberal, and Faye Mapilli, LaHarpe, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters and one grandson.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Miller Chapel with David Vartian presiding.

Burial will be in Arkalon Cemetery in rural Liberal.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until service time Friday at Miller Mortuary.

VIVIAN L. MORFORD

HUGOTON -- Vivian L. Morford, 93, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton.

She was born Nov. 9, 1911, to Grovy Emmet and Cora Evaline (Garman) Morford in Mullinville.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Hugoton where she was also a Sunday school teacher. She was also a Sunday school teacher at Bethel Friends in rural Hugoton.

She enjoyed sewing and sharing her talent with family and friends. She baby set children for many years.

Survivors include two sisters, Lona Ratcliff, Haviland, and Irene Storms and husband Robert, Hugoton; many nieces and nephews; and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Gordon, Leland and Glen Morford.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Nazarene in Hugoton with the Rev. John Wright presiding.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Hugoton.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday and Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Church of the Nazarene or the Pioneer Manor, both of Hugoton and may be mailed to Paul's Funeral Home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.

ROY A. PACKARD

HUGOTON -- Roy A. Packard, 89, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton.

He was born May 24, 1915, to William W. and Neida C. (Hardie) Packard in Prowers County, Colo.

He first married Hazel Marie Cavner.

He later married Josephine E. Delano in September of 1962 in Raton, N.M. She survives.

He worked in maintenance at Northern Natural Gas Company for many years as a welder.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of the VETS Group and Masonic Lodge, both of Hugoton.

Other survivors include one step son, Ronnie Dean Bolinger and wife Leslie, Longmont, Colo.; one daughter, Janice Johnson and husband Tom, Payette, Idaho; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin W. Packard, Plains; several cousins; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Richard, Eugene and Clyde O. Packard, and one sister, Esther Greenwood.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton with Minister Keith Peachey presiding.

Burial will be in Hugoton Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to My Father's House Church in Hugoton and may be mailed to Paul's Funeral Home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.

GARY L. WESTON

Gary Lee Weston, 48, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004.

He was born Jan. 16, 1956, to Charles Joseph "Joe" and Darlene Ethel "Collie" Weston in Liberal.

He graduated with a degree in education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Okla., in 1978. He would later receive a degree in radiology technology from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1984.

He married Verda Smith in 1978. She survives.

Upon Gary's graduation from Midwestern State University, the couple relocated to Long Beach, Calif., where both pursued careers in health care.

He enjoyed being with his children. He also enjoyed music, snow skiing, scuba diving, teaching children through AWANA and Sunday school programs.

Other survivors include his step father, Ted Bennett, Welches, Ore.; his children, Sean and Julianne; two sisters, Barbara Hazelton, Grand Junction, Colo., and Jonnie O'Hara, Fruita, Colo.; one niece, Desiree; his father-in-law, Melvin Smith; and his mother-in-law, Norma Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cypress Church in Cypress, Calif.

Memorials are suggested to the Weston Family Educational fund through Cypress Church, 6143 Ball Road, Cypress, CA 90670.

GEORGE W. TULL

George Washington Tull, 76, died Dec. 1, 2004 at his residence in Liberal.

He was born Aug. 10, 1928, to William Marion and Anna Jemima (Burris) Tull in Yale, Okla.

He married Emma Lou Scott Dec. 20, 1952, in Jennings, Okla. She survives.

He was an oil field driller and tool pusher with Bruce Drilling, a diesel mechanic with Mid America Diesel Service and with Mid States Diesel Service and shop foreman for Diesel Equipment, all of Liberal. He was the owner and manager of TKO Rig and Engine Service in Bryans Corner, Okla.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, where he was a radar operator serving from 1948 to 1952.

He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church.

He was a Past Master of Masonic Lodge Fargo No. 300 and was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rite in Wichita. He was a former assistant scoutmaster of BSA Troop 182, Webelos Leader Pack 43 and a Kids, Inc. baseball coach.

He was a member of the NRA and a sportsman.

He enjoyed gardening and entering his fruits and vegetables in the Five State Fair, where he won many ribbons.

Other survivors include six sons, George Denys Tull, Liberal, Freddie William Tull, Oklahoma City, Francis Keith Tull, Liberal, Marvin Darrell Tull and wife Kimberly, Beaver, Okla., Daniel Jordan Tull and wife Margaret, Jay, Maine, and Stuart Douglas Tull and wife Rebecca, Liberal; two daughters, Louemma Wray Larman and husband Gary, Coyle, Okla., and Siretta Anne Lemmons and husband Randy, Turpin, Okla.; 11 grandchildren, Audrey Harmon and husband Burton, Monty Larman and wife Julie, Vanessa Johnson and husband Jeremy, Melinda Ireland, David Ireland II and wife Amy, Alaina Ireland, Jonathan Tull, Dianna Tull, Rachel Tull, Benjamin Stone and Kayla Stone; six great-grandchildren, Triston Ireland, Benjamin Harmon, Aaron Harmon, Jared Harmon, Ashlyn Larman and Josie Ireland; two brothers, Marvin Tull and wife Betty, LaPorte, Colo., and Jessie Tull and wife Sylvia, Jennings, Okla.; two sisters, Anna Nugent and husband T.W., Hallett, Okla., and Barbara Dressler and husband Lewis, Hallett, Okla.; and one aunt, Mildred (Burris) Tull, Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, W.M. "Jr., " John and Dale Tull.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Southern Baptist Church in Liberal with the Rev. Keith Bryant presiding.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Jennings Cemetery in Jennings, Okla., with military honors and Masonic rites.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.

Memorials are suggested to Liberal Home Health and Hospice or National Cancer Institute in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. Second, Liberal, KS 67901.
