CATHERINE R. CLASEN
COLWICH -- Catherine R. (Martin) Clasen, 97, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, in Colwich.
She was born Nov. 25, 1907, to Nicholas Martin Sr. and Anna Simon in Andale.
She married Christian Clasen Sept. 22, 1943, in Andale. He died Feb. 13, 1997.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Altar Society of Colwich.
Survivors include two sons, John Clasen, Great Bend, and Jim Clasen, Colwich; two daughters, Connie Seiwert, Goddard, and Mary Zoglman, Cheney; and seven grandchildren.
Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich with Father Brian Bebak presiding.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich.
Visitation will be until 9 p.m. today at Wulf-Ast Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in care of Wulf-Ast Mortuaries.
ESTHER D. BAXTER
HUGOTON -- Esther Dora (Rogers) Baxter, 87, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton.
She was born July 5, 1917, to Harry Dean and Lucy Mae (Hockanson) Rogers in Trego County.
She married Francis Guy Baxter July 18, 1937, in Whitewater. He died July 18, 1969.
She was a homemaker and had also been a custodian at Hugoton Grade School for 20 years. She then worked as a childcare provider.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Hugoton.
She enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors include two sons, Dean Duane Baxter and wife Cathey, Amarillo, Texas, and Keith Allan Baxter, Hugoton; two daughters, Frances Jeanne Packard and husband Bill, Wichita, and Karen Sue Banister, Hugoton; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Margaret Lynn Banister Chamblis; one great-grandson, Kallen Valdez; four brothers, Eugene Harry Rogers, Ernest Ola Rogers, Eldon Hazen Rogers and Emmett Lee Rogers; and one sister, Ethel Gladys Moore.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Hugoton with the Rev. Jeff Aenk presiding.
Burial will follow at Hugoton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Hugoton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association, both in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 423 S. Main, Hugoton, KS 67951.
TYLER R. SINNING
ELKHART -- Tyler Rex Sinning, 50, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
He was born Feb. 20, 1954, to Floyd Roy and Gladys Ann (Tindall) Sinning in Guymon, Okla.
He married Connie Byrum May 31, 1978, in Elkhart. She survives.
He graduated from Yarborough (Okla.) High School in 1972.
He was a farmer and carpenter.
He was a member of the First Church of God in Elkhart.
Other survivors include his father; three brothers, Terry Sinning, Keyes, Okla., Jerry Sinning, Friendwood, Texas, and Bill Sinning, Elkhart; four nephews; and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1979.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Church of God in Elkhart with Pastor Calvin Wright presiding.
Burial will follow at Elkhart Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home of Elkhart.

JOYCE G. HURT
PRATT -- Joyce Geraldine Hurt, 71, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at her residence in Pratt.
She was born Nov. 20, 1933, to Noble Hurt and Ina Gooch Hurt in Sanford, Texas.
She had retired from Southwestern Bell.
Survivors include one daughter, Lynn Albert, Elk, Washington; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Hurt, Grove, Okla.; and three sisters, Phyllis Jordan, Riverside, Calif., Bonnie Swindler, Pratt, and Darlene Hurt, Pratt.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald Hurt.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Larrison Mortuary in Pratt with Pastor Arnett Williams presiding.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery
in Pratt.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at Larrison Mortuary in Pratt.
Memorials are suggested to South Wind Hospice in care of the mortuary.
ALEXUS D. DENNETT
Alexus Dawn Dennett, 27 days old, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at Southwest Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 12, 2004, to Roman and Lee Anne (Gilliland) Dennett in Liberal.
Survivors include grandparents, Donnie and Sherri Dennett, Liberal, and Larry and Connie Gilliland, Hanston; great-grandparents, Beverly Schultz, Liberal, Dale and Lovella Dennett, Johnson, and Wilma Murphy, Wichita; two brothers, Aden and A.J. Dennett of the home; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Ron Schultz, Dr. and Mrs. George Mandeville and John Quincy Gilliland.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Faith Tabernacle Church with the Rev. Rex Petty presiding.
Burial will be at Midway Cemetery
in Floris, Okla.

GRACE M. DREW
HUGOTON -- Grace Milburn Drew, 89, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton.
She was born Aug. 5, 1915, to Pete Ervin and Lilus Faye (Gillum) Milburn on a farm in northeast Morton County.
She married Howard A. Drew Sept. 17, 1933, in Hugoton. He died Jan. 5, 1974.
She attended grade school at Antelope Valley.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed farming and ranching.
Survivors include two daughters, Emma Berniece Musgrove, Rolla, and Vera Jean Stoops and husband Lee, Hugoton; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Laura LaRue Bressler, three brothers, Elver Milburn, Earl Milburn and Tom Millburn, and two sisters, Emma Stoner and Alma (Morgan) Myers.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Christian Church in Hugoton with Greg Lindenberger presiding.
Burial will be in Richfield Cemetery.

EARL F. SEXTON
Earl Free Sexton, 89, died December 12, 2004, at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal.
He was born December 3, 1915, in Andrew County, Missouri, the son of Chester A. and Jeanette Jane (Hunt) Sexton. He graduated from Union Star (Missouri) High School in 1933 and attended Cameron Junior College for one year. He attended Northwest Missouri State Teachers College, majoring in industrial arts. He started flight school in 1941 in the Civilian Pilot Training Program. On the day following the attack on Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps where he instructed Army, Navy and Marine cadets until 1944. He was assigned to Ottawa, Kansas where he operated Ottawa Flying Service after his military discharge. In 1957, he came to Liberal ultimately purchasing Thompson Flying Service which became Sexton Flying Service. He was a flight instructor, aerial sprayer and aircraft mechanic up to the time of his death.
He belonged to the Sons of the American Revolution, Dallas, Texas Chapter.
Survivors include his wife, Clara May Sexton of the home, a son, Donald Ray Sexton of Lincoln, Missouri, a daughter, Barbara Ann Free of Albuquerque, New Mexico, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Bowen.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 15 at the First Christian Church, Liberal. Burial will be in the Liberal Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Miller Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. There will also be a visitation at the church 1-2 p.m. before the service.
Memorials to the Foundation for Fighting Blindness, the First Christian Church or the donor's choice may be directed to the Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
