LEWIS R. BUNDY

MODESTO, Calif. -- Lewis Ray Bundy, 82, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2004, at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, Calif.

He was born April 17, 1922, in Arnolds Park, Iowa.

He was an English teacher at Hughson (Calif.) High School for 30 years.

He graduated from the University of the Pacific.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

He was a member of the Hump Pilots Association and Sons in Retirement Society.

He was in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He enjoyed golf, coin collecting and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Bundy, Hughson, Calif.; children, Kevin Bundy, Tokyo, Linda Eikenberry, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Karyn Birchall, Fresno, Calif.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Edith Johnson, Windom, Minn., Marion Graber, Liberal, and Virginia Campbell, Mesquite, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Bundy, and one brother.

A funeral was at 2 p.m. today at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel in Modesto, Calif.

Burial was at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, Calif.

DOROTHY L. HOSKINSON

SUBLETTE -- Dorothy Lee Hoskinson, 92, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Sierra Vista Regional Health Center in Sierra Vista, Ariz.

She was born June 25, 1912, to Marion Albert and Mary Etta (Rodermal) Behee in Dodge City.

She married Wayne Eugene "Curley" Hoskinson Dec. 25, 1932, in Dodge City. He died Feb. 1, 1986.

She was a homemaker.

Her hoobies included bingo and painting.

She attended United Methodist Church in Sublette.

Survivors include five grandchildren, Bob Reno and wife Teresa, Las Cruces, N.M., Diana Harrison and husband Bruce, Woodbridge, Va., Jimmy Reno and wife Linda, Tuttle, Okla., Wayne Hoskinson and wife Michelle, Stuarts Draft, Va., and Ray Reno and wife Brenda, St. John; 10 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Hoskinson, Onacock, Va.; two brothers, Clifford Behee and wife Betty, Dodge City, and Corky Behee and wife Louise, Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Donna Siedel and husband Leo, Springdale, Ark.; two sisters-in-law, Lois Behee, Dodge City, and Mabel Behee, Dodge City; and many relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Donald Eugene Hoskinson; one daughter, Jean Reno; three brothers, James, Eddie and Albert Behee; and two sisters, Lillian Hrovat and Virginia Neufeld.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Sublette with the Rev. Keith Fink presiding.

Burial will be at Copeland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Fund and may be mailed to Haskell County Funeral Home, Box 607, Sublette, KS 67877.

VELMA L. CHANCE

FOWLER -- Velma Lee Chance, 78, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Pratt Regional Medical Center in Pratt.

She was born Jan. 8, 1927, to the Rev. Lee H. and Mercy (Wagner) Stevens in Glendale.

She married Voyle E. Chance June 3, 1945, at Friends Church in Rose Hill. He survives.

She attended school at Friends Bible Academy in Haviland.

She worked with her husband as an officer and director of the Fowler State Bank for many years.

She was a member of Friends Church in Fowler.

She enjoyed gardening, playing the piano and organ and sewing.

Other survivors include two sons, Lynn E. Chance and wife Jane, Fowler, and Larry S. Chance, Fowler; one daughter, Lorene K. Humphreys and husband Robert, Sterling; six grandsons; and two granddaughters.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Friends Church in Fowler with Pastors Galen Hinshaw and Scott Morin presiding.

Burial was at Fowler Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Fowler Friends Church or other church of personal choice in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary.

ETHEL M. TURNER

Ethel M. Turner, 94, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Garnand Funeral Home of Ulysses.

RUSSELL O'DONNELL

Johnson -- Russell O'Donnell, 87, died Feb. 5, 2005, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

He was born Dec. 9, 1917, to William and Sadie O'Donnell in Jersey City, N.J.

He married Levonna "Bonnie" Morris Sept. 4, 1968, in Oneonta, N.Y. She survives.

He was a truck driver and then worked at the City of Johnson Power Plant until his retirement.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945.

He was founder of the Johnson Falcons, and he volunteered at the Stanton County Sheriff's Department, Stanton County Fire Department and Stanton County EMTs.

Other survivors include four step sons, Steven W. Duell, Black Mountain, N.C., Robert Duell, Colby, Roger Duell, Mebourne, Fla., and Scott Duell, Narvon, Pa.; one step daughter, Barbara Hewitt, Fredericksburg, Va.; 11 step grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson with the Rev. Sam Bynum presiding.

Burial will follow. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post No. 3684 of Johnson.

Memorials are suggested to the Russell O'Donnell Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, Box 715, Johnson, KS 67855.

WILLIAM F. PROSSER

ELLINWOOD -- William F. Prosser, 89, died Feb. 5, 2005, at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood.

He was born July 12, 1915, to Alois F. Prosser and Regina Herrman in Odin.

He married Matilda M. Birzer April 15, 1941, in Odin. She survives.

He was a retired farmer/stockman and carpenter.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Ellinwood and St. Catherine's Catholic Church of Dubuque.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Odin.

Other survivors include two sons Gerald Prosser and wife Leona, Great Bend, and Fred Prosser and wife Murine, Ellinwood; four daughters, Luetta Haynes and husband John, Liberal, Wilma Stroud, Olatha, Elaine Trantham and husband Bill, and Charlotte Schartz and husband Barry, Kingman; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Prosser, Hoisington, and Julius Prosser, Odin; and three sisters Mary Birzer, Hutchinson, Helen Kaiser, Hoisington, and Catherine Schremmer, Hays.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Louie, Anthony, John and Leonard, and six sisters, Eleanor Kingston, Cecilia Tiperman and Jean Rome, Ann Steiner and Tillie Kramer.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ellinwood.

Rosary by the Altar Society was at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Vigil services followed by Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home with Father John Maes presiding.

Burial will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Kimple Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph School Living Legacy Campaign or the Ellinwood Area Health Care Foundation in care of Kimple Funeral Home, 113 N. Main, Ellinwood, KS 67526.

RONNIE THOMAS

Ronnie Thomas, 71, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at Jane Phillips Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife Emmalene B. Thomas of the home; one son, Kenton Thomas, Emporia; two step sons, Jerry Ellexson, Paris, Texas, and John Ellexson, Guymon, Okla.; two step daughters, Janice Holt, Oklahoma City, and Judy Roberts, Lawrence; two grandsons; seven step grandsons; two step granddaughters; and one sister, Lorelie Hickey and husband Lloyd, Neosho Rapids.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Overholt presiding.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Turpin Mennonite Cemetery near Turpin, Okla.

Memorials are suggested to the Washington County Sheriff's Reserve, 420 S. Johnstone, Bartlesville, OK 74003.
