NELLIE B. LATTIMORE

ULYSSES -- Nellie Burr Lattimore, 86, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at Hospice of Salina in Salina.

She was born Sept. 20, 1920, to Edward Austin and Nellie Burr (Reynolds) Kepley in Dodge City.

She married Vernal L. Lattimore July 27, 1940, in Ulysses. He died March 6, 1985.

She was a homemaker and a farmer.

She was a member of the Grant County Board of Aging, Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter No. 77, Sunflower 4-H Club leader and Golden Extension Unit.

Survivors include one son, Vernal Lee Lattimore and wife, Vicki, Ulysses; three daughters, LoVelle Beaman and husband, Blaine, Davis, Calif., Rebecca Spar and husband, Ira, Suffern, N.Y., and Rita Deister and husband, Jim, Salina; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Kepley, Ulysses, and Edward Kepley and wife, Helen, Ulysses; and many relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ralph Kepley; and one sister, Bernice Kepley.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Ulysses with the Rev. Dennis Livingston presiding.

Burial will be at the Ulysses Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Grant County Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to either the Hospice of Salina, Grant County Museum or Grant County Senior Center and may be mailed to Grant County Funeral Home, 218 S. Main, Ulysses, KS 67880.

RICHARD GILBERT

HUGOTON -- Richard Gilbert, 64, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, in Hugoton.

Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton.

RICHARD E. DAVIS

SUBLETTE -- Richard E. Davis, 85, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

He was born Feb. 23, 1921, to Paul and Bessie (Fitts) Davis in Garden City.

He married Hilda G. Kirk Oct. 9, 1955, at the Plymell Community Church in Garden City.

She died Dec. 4, 1993.

He graduated from Sublette High School.

He joined the army on July 6, 1942, and became a Tech 3 Sergeant.

He served in Europe during World War II working on tanks and jeeps.

He farmed and ranched in Kansas and Colorado.

He was a member of the Plymell Community Church in Garden City.

He was a member of the Sublette American Legion Post No. 205, Sublette, and the Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and supporting 4-H livestock sales for the neighbor kids.

He is survived by one son, Gene Davis and wife, Cherie, Sublette; four grandchildren, Heather, Whitney, Mariah, and Sky Davis; one brother, Robert Davis, Stella, Mo.; two sisters, Joyce Davis, Dodge City, and Joan Lavelett, Peyton, Colo.; and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Phillip Davis.

Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Plymell Community Church in Garden City with Pastor Kelly Stevenson presiding.

Private military graveside services were at Haskell County Cemetery in Sublette.

Friends may call from until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Haskell County Funeral Home in Sublette.

Memorials are suggested to the Plymell Community Church or the Lee Richardson Zoo in care of Haskell County Funeral Home, Box 607, Sublette, KS 67877.

NOLA CRAWFORD

Nola Crawford, 95, died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at Southwest Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.

HAROLD ROSEL

HUGOTON -- Harold Rosel, 98, died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton.

He was born Aug. 14, 1907, to John Franklin and Mary Elizabeth (Bowen) Rosel in Grant County, north of Moscow.

He married Verla Belle Nelson Jan. 8, 1947, in Liberal.

She survives.

He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was owner of Rosel Recreation in Hugoton for more than 30 years.

He was a past member of the VFW of Hugoton.

He is also survived by one daughter, E. Lavonne Tebay, Malvern, Pa.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Rosel; five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Paul's Funeral Home Chapel in Hugoton with the Rev. Greg Lindenberger presiding. Military graveside services will be at Moscow Cemetery in Moscow.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton.

JAYNELLE S. PHILLIPS

ULYSSES -- Jaynelle Sue Phillips, 62, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

She was born May 29, 1943, to John Riley (Jay) and Eunice LaVeta (Layton) Wheeler in Satanta.

She married Philip W. Phillips Aug. 27, 1963, Ulysses.

She graduated from Grant County Rural High School, attended Fort Hays State University, and earned an associates degree in business from Dodge City Community College.

She was former owner of Phillip's Mortuary, was a licensed Kansas Funeral Director and was a former member of Kansas Funeral Directors Association. She owned and operated Jaynelle's Flowers and Gifts.

She was a member of PEO Chapter, Jaycee Janes, First United Methodist Church, ESA Sorority, Tuesday Wednesday Bridge Club, and a former member of Grant County Chamber of Commerce and Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church Alter Society. She was also a former Miss Grant County.

She is survived by three sons, Philip J. Phillips, Tulsa, Okla., Patrick D. Phillips, Gary, Texas, and Paul D. Phillips and wife, Alice, Dallas; six grandchildren, Kendra, Brooke, Jacob, Ross, Rhett and Colten; three brothers, Arthur Layton Wheeler and wife, Sandra, Kearsarge, Mich., Richard Reavis Wheeler and wife, Bonna, Quinter, and Ronald Ellis Wheeler and wife, Vicki, Ulysses; and three sisters, Patsy LuAnn Wormus and husband, Sam, Casper, Wyo., Leora Lynne Webber and husband, Allen, Salina, and Zana Rae Rudzik and husband, Richard, Ulysses.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist church in Ulysses with the Rev. Dennis H. Livingston presiding.

Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

WESTON J. HENDRICKSON

HUTCHINSON -- Weston Joseph "Wes" Hendrickson, 72, died Monday, March 6, 2006, at his home in Hutchinson.

He was born Jan. 2, 1934, to Ralph Henry and Elizabeth Anne Tockert Hendrickson in Ford.

He married Shirley Ann Hurt May 25, 1962, in Newton. She survives.

He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1952.

He was a locomotive engineer for Santa Fe Railroad for 40 years.

He served in the Kansas Army National Guard.

He was a member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68 and United Transportation Union.

He is also survived by two sons, Wayne Ehret and Melissa, Houston, and Robert Ehret and Letha, Amarillo, Texas; two daughters, Deanna Nulf and Ray, Hutchinson, and Debra Jones and Gene, Dumas, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel in Hutchinson with Chaplain Frederick J. Obold presiding.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Reno County Weston J. Hendrickson, Joshua Ehret Kidney Transplant Fund in care of First National Bank or Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
