AUDREY R. HOSKINSON

Audrey R. Hoskinson died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Covenant Village Care Center in Westminster, Colo.

She was born Jan. 1, 1911, in Liberal and spent her early years with her grandparents Lydia and Howard Drake on their homestead in the Oklahoma Panhandle.

She married Chester L. "Chet" Hoskinson July 14, 1929.

She graduated from Liberal High School.

She was a telephone operator.

She was a partner with her husband in the Hoskinson Development Company.

Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Hoskinson; five cousins, Dorothy Johnson, Wayne Peters, Leota Holmquest, Susan Robb and Leola Wilkerson; one sister-in-law Helen Hoskinson; friends, Bev and Bill Snell, Bob Viles; two nephews, Charles and Rae Duff; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will take place at noon Friday at the Arvada Presbyterian Church in Arvada, Colo. --

Burial will be at Arvada Cemetery.

ISABEL M. PERRY

HUGOTON -- Isabel Mae Perry, 82, died Thursday, March 16, 2006, at her residence in rural Stevens County.

She was born May 24, 1923, to Clarence Williams and Lily Elnora (Johnson) Higgins in Rolla.

She married Wilmer J. Perry Sept. 8, 1940, in Guymon, Okla. He survives.

She attended Rolla schools.

She was a homemaker and farm wife living in Stevens and Morton counties all her life.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Rolla.

She was a member of West Center Unit and a 4-H leader.

She enjoyed square dancing, sewing and gardening.

Other survivors include four sons, Wilmer C. Perry and wife, LaDonna, Donald Perry and wife, Paula, and Steve Perry, all of Hugoton, and Robert Perry and wife, Marjorie, Taos, N.M.; two daughters, Donna Taylor and husband, Jack, Kahola Lake, and Patricia Kleffman, Hugoton; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, William Higgins and Eugene Higgins, both of Elkhart, and Jack Higgins, Rolla; and four sisters, Opal Erickson, Portland, Ore., Lola Chambers, Valley Falls, Jewell Burrows, Hugoton, and Dorothy Milburn, Dermont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Larry Leroy; one granddaughter; Katrina Kay Kleffman; one great-granddaughter, Anna Belle; two brothers, Leroy Higgins and Earnest Higgins; and one sister, Violet Galligher.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Church of God in Hugoton with Pastor Bill Vincent and Pastor Robert Bailey presiding.

Burial will follow at Hugoton Cemetery.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Hugoton.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 423 S. Main, Hugoton, KS 67951.

FIDEL ARMENDARIZ

Fidel Armendariz, 67, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at Southwest Medical Center.

He was born April 24, 1938, to Damian and Guadalupe Bustamantes Armendariz in Wichita Falls, Texas.

He married Alicia Torres January 15, 1980, in Liberal. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam.

He worked for National Beef Packing in Kansas City and transferred to Liberal in 1969. He retired as foreman in 1989 following 22 years of service.

Other survivors include two sons, Rosendo Armendariz and wife, Tammy, Liberal, and Victor Murillo, Salina; one daughter, Michelle Armendariz, Garden City; four grandchildren, Mikal, Elyjah, Zander and Evan Armendariz; one brother, Fernando Armendariz, Colorado; and one sister, Maria Helen Cohens, Manhatten Beach, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Chapel.

Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Mortuary.

GARY D. KANE

MEADE -- Gary Dean "Kaner" Kane, 55, died Saturday, April 1, 2006, at his residence in Meade.

He was born Oct. 4, 1950, to Elwood and Elsie (Eckhoff) Kane in Fowler.

He married Donna Wilson March 24, 1973, in Meade. She survives.

He was a 1969 graduate of Meade High School.

He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. While in Vietnam he was awarded three bronze stars for escapades with his Mighty Mouse AH1G Cobra helicopter, which he crewed.

He worked with his father at the Meade Feed Yard until 1990, then worked for Gray County Co-Op and then for the Meade County Utility. He was the director of Meade County Utility until his retirement Dec. 31, 2005.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, both of Dodge City, and St. John Lutheran Church in Meade.

Other survivors include his parents, Meade; one son, Robert, Las Vegas; one daughter, Jennifer Kane Fuentes, Denver; adopted son/grandson, Skyler Dean Kane; twin granddaughters, Allison and Madison Fuentes, Denver; twin brother, Larry Kane, Meade; and one sister, Diana Caldwell, Balko, Okla.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Meade with the Rev. Lynn E. Spencer presiding.

Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Meade with military honors provided by the Fort Riley Burial Detail.

Friends may call from until 7 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.

Memorials are suggested to the Meade District Hospital and may be sent in care of Fider-Orme-Bachman Mortuary.

SHIRLEY ATKINSON

ELKHART -- Shirley Atkinson, 65, died Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Southwest Medical Center.

She was born July 9, 1940, to Tom Little and Florence (Vandervort) Little in Elkhart.

She married Brian Walker, Edmon Oldham, Charles Sutton and Jarrell Atkinson. All have preceded her in death.

She was custodian at USD 218 for many years.

She was a member of the New Beginnings Pentecostal Church of Elkhart.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and cross-stitching.

She is survived by three sons, Mark Little, Ontario, Calif., Charles Sutton, Pratt, and Daniel Sutton, Liberal; two daughters, Carol Mills, Elkhart, and Sue Cave, Ingleside, Texas; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary Little, Richfield; and one sister, Karen Bulchak, DeFord, Mich.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Anita Dennison.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Richfield United Methodist Church in Richfield with Pastor Calvin Wright presiding.

A private family burial will be at Richfield Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the New Beginnings Pentecostal Church of Elkhart in care of Garnand Funeral Home, P.O. Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.

MELANIE E. PITCOCK

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Melanie E. Pitcock, 46, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at her home following an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 31, 1959, to Clifford E. and Luciele O. Schwager McDonald in Liberal.

She attended Liberal schools.

She was a sales clerk at PayLess Shoes for many years.

Survivors include two children, Timothy McDonald, Lincoln, Neb., and Patience Gregory, Lincoln; and two sisters, Charlotte Hill, Liberal, and Charlene Antrim and husband, Mike, Turpin, Okla.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Stephen Saville presiding.

Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver, Okla.

The family will greet friends at 1 p.m. Thursday in the church parlor.

Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church and may be sent in care of Millier Mortuary.
