Glenna D. Hadley

SYRACUSE -- Service for Glenna D. Hadley, 85, of Syracuse will be 1 p.m. MST Thursday at the Syracuse First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hadley died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at Hays Medical Center following a brief illness. A private, family inurnment will be held at Syracuse Cemetery following memorial service at the church.

Mrs. Hadley was born Jan. 30, 1914, at Garden Grove, Iowa, the daughter of James and Ella (McMullin) Hill. She had been a Syracuse resident for 68 years. In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Hadley also worked for 27 years as a bookkeeper and parts clerk at Western Motors Auto Dealership in Syracuse, and she later worked as a nurse's aide at Hamilton County Hospital. She was a member of the Syracuse First United Methodist Church. She married F.T. "Red" Mayhew at Lakin in 1931. He preceded her in death in 1969. She then married Frank F. Hadley in Wichita in 1975. He also preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by a son, Ron Mayhew; and by 10 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by a daughter, Connie Rogers of Huntsville, Ala; by four stepchildren, Janet Lyles of Littleton, Colo., Jerald Hadley of Larned, Harald Hadley of Spokane, Wash., and Carol Barker of Littleton; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Glenna Hadley Memorial Fund at the Syracuse First United Methodist Church. Arrangements were made by Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel-Holly.

Darrel Dean Harlow

SATANTA -- Darrel Dean Harlow, 48, a former Satanta resident, died at his home in Tulare, Calif., early Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, after a long illness.

The son of Henry and Lexine (Davis) Harlow, he was born Dec. 8, 1951, at Liberal.

He graduated from Satanta High School in 1968 and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was also a federal meat inspector.

He and Terri Colgin were married Aug. 18, 1973. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Wesley Harlow of Tulare; two daughters, Audra and Kristen Harlow, both of Tulare; his parents of Satanta; four brothers, LeDon Harlow of Satanta, Gary Harlow of Liberal, Robert Harlow of Wheatland, Mo., and Richard Harlow of Walsh, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Satanta, with the Rev. Larry Myers presiding. Military graveside service will be conducted by the Satanta American Legion Post No. 276 at the Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Haskell County Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established for either the Satanta Happy Agers or the United Methodist Church of Satanta. Memorials may be left at the Shopping Stop True Value in Satanta or mailed to Haskell County Funeral Home, Box 607, Sublette, KS 67877.

Roy Neal Love

SUBLETTE -- Roy Neal Love, 74, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at his home in Sublette.

He was born March 27, 1925, at Jetmore, the son of Samuel and Nettie F. (Steele) Love.

Graduating from Caņon City High School, Caņon City, Colo., in 1943, he later served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for the Haskell County Landfill in Sublette.

Survivors include three sons, Lawrence Love of Sublette, Rodney Love of North Platte, Neb., and Gregory Love of Westminster, Texas; two daughters, Terri Lee Lower of Sublette and Tami Williams of Dodge City; a sister, Helen Koch of Caņon City; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Love; three sisters, Nellie Sinclair, Daisy Love and Opal Hall; a grandson, Jimmie Neal Love; and a great-grandson, Kaden Love.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Christian Church, Sublette, with the Rev. Joe Dunlap presiding.

Memorials have been established for either the Sublette American Legion Post No. 205 or the Sublette EMTs. Memorials may be mailed to the Haskell County Funeral Home, Box 607, Sublette, KS 67877.

Wilbur Lawrence Morris

Wilbur Lawrence Morris, 87, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, Garden City, with the Rev. Janet Hernandez and the Wichita Consistory officiating. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery.

Mr. Morris was born Sept. 16, 1912, at Paris, Ill., the son of Lawrence "Dick" and Hazel (Baird) Morris. He moved to Garden City in 1920 from Redmon, Ill. He attended Garden City Schools, and from 1929 to 1937 was associated with Sinclair Oil Co. He worked for the Railway Express Co. until 1942, when he left to serve in the U.S. Army.

He married Martha E. Wampler at Paso Robles, Calif., on June 20, 1942. In 1946, he returned to Garden City and managed Kemper Auto Parts Store for 24 of his 30 years there. He retired in 1976 and became affiliated with Rundell Real Estate from 1976 to 1980.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a life member of the Wichita Consistory, the American Legion and the Tyrian Masonic Lodge, where he served as master in 1954 and secretary from 1978 to 1981. He also served as the DDGM in 1965 and as the Area 11 ADGM in 1986 and 1987.

Mr. Morris is survived by his wife; a daughter, Jan Cahill of Arvada; and a grandson, Greg Scott Mills of Arvada. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a younger brother.

Calling times are until 9 p.m. today at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City.

Memorials may be directed to the church or to the Wichita Scottish Rite Charitable Trust, both in care of the funeral home.

Consuelo Garcia Ramirez

DEERFIELD -- Consuelo Garcia Ramirez, 72, of Deerfield, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. Vigil service will be 7 tonight at Christ the King Catholic Church, Deerfield. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, also at the church, with the Rev. Orestes Huerta officiating. Burial will be at Deerfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Ramirez was born April 9, 1927, in Eden, Texas, the daughter of Ramon and Librada (Sanchez) Garcia. She has been a Deerfield resident since moving from San Angelo, Texas. She married Pedro R. Ramirez May 22, 1949 in San Angelo. He preceded her in death Feb. 8, 1985, in Deerfield.

Mrs. Ramirez worked for Western Alfalfa in Deerfield for 12 years. She retired from IBP in 1992 after 10 years there. She attended Christ the King Catholic Church in Deerfield and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lakin. Her hobbies were gardening, fishing, crafts and spending time with family. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter.

She is survived by three sons, Pete Ramirez Jr. of Garden City, Ernestor Campos Jr. of Pueblo, Colo., and Martin Ramirez of Deerfield; five daughters, Elsa Beltran of Deerfield, Guadalupe Rocha of Deerfield, Elma Ramirez of San Angelo, Texas, Regina Campos of Garden City, and Grace Perez of Garden City; three sisters; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in Deerfield Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Garnand Funeral Home, Lakin. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Christ the King Catholic Church.

Bertha Marie 'Betty' Crews

HOLCOMB -- Funeral for Bertha Marie "Betty" Crews, 72, will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church, Hays, with the Rev. Michael Suchnicki officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ellis.

Altar Society and Christian Mothers rosary will begin at 4 this afternoon, followed by Sisters of St. Agnes congregational prayer service at 4:30, Daughters of Isabella rosary at 6 p.m., and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., all at Brock's North Hill Chapel, Hays.

Mrs. Crews died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born June 8, 1927, at Ellis, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Suppes) Weigel, and graduated from Ellis High School.

Mrs. Crews was an abstractor for Field Abstract and Title for 30 years and for Ellis County Abstract & Title for 12 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Daughters of Isabella, Altar Society and Christian Mothers.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary E. Schuster, Holcomb, Carol A. Beehler, Arvada, Colo., and Sister Edie Crews, C.S.A., Greenfield, Wis.; a brother, Joseph A. Weigel, Plano, Texas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation hours are until 8 tonight and from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.

Denver Dewayne Cline

Denver Dewayne Cline, 80, of Syracuse died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999. at his home in Syracuse.

He was born Nov. 5, 1919, at Kidder, Mo., the son of Charles and Rebecca Pearl Russell Cline.

Mr. Cline was a Paper Mill employee before retiring in Vancouver, Wash.. He moved to Syracuse three years ago.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erna Barbara Renzland ,whom he married on Nov. 28, 1947, in Bad Kissingen, Germany. She died in 1993.

He is survived by one daughter, Gerda Buck of Syracuse; one stepdaughter, Martha King of Franklinton, N.C.; one brother, Dale Cline of Washougal, Wash.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Wesleyan Church in care of Greene Funeral Home in Syracuse.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 5, 2000, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Vancouver, Wash.
