Daniel Ryan Stewart

Funeral for Daniel Ryan Stewart, 22, will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, with family and friends conducting the service.

Mr. Stewart died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

He was born Sept. 29, 1978, at Coffeyville. When he was 5, the family moved to Ventura County, Calif., where he attended schools before the family moved to Garden City in 1993.

He graduated from Garden City High School in 1996 and attended Garden City Community College. A computer technician, he was developing a multi-user game network on the Internet.

Mr. Stewart was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed snow boarding and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors, all of Garden City, include his mother, Catherine Stewart; a brother, Justin Maughmer; two sisters, Bryn Stewart and Shannon Maughmer-Stewart; and his grandmother, Nettie Stewart.

There will be no visitation. Memorials to the Daniel Ryan Stewart Memorial Fund may be sent in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N. Seventh St.

Annabelle Bressler

ELKHART - Funeral for Annabelle Bressler, 83, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Harrell Funeral Home Chapel, Elkhart, with the Rev. Kenton Van officiating. Burial will follow in Elkhart Cemetery.

Mrs. Bressler, a homemaker, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at her home in Elkhart.

She was born Dec. 7, 1917, at Sterling, the daughter of Irwin and Margaret Cundith.

On May 30, 1936, she married Norval Bressler at Sterling. He died in April 1995.

She is survived by two sons, Wesley, Elkhart, and Robert, San Antonio; a sister, Audrey, Henderson, Nev.; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the Whistle Stop Park, in care of Harrell Funeral Home, Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.

Eldon R. "Bill" Rarick

SCOTT CITY - Eldon R. "Bill" Rarick, 88, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Scott County Hospital in Scott City.

He was born May 5, 1912, at North Platte, Neb., the son of Lewis and Azubah A. (Bissell) Rarick.

A Scott City resident for more than 35 years, he retired from K-N Energy in Scott City in 1977. He was a member of the Scott County VIP Center, was an avid and well-known bowler in Scott City and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City, with the Rev. John Warring officiating. Inurnment will be in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City.

Memorials to the Bill Rarick Memorial Fund may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Adriana Lynn Perez

Graveside service for Adriana Lynn Perez, the infant daughter of Limbo Perez of Garden City, will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, with the Rev. Carlos Garcia-Pena officiating.

Adriana was stillborn Sunday, March 25, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sisters, Ravae Perez, Marissa Perez, and her twin sister, Mariah M. Perez, all of the home; her grandmother, Tanya Reyes, Garden City; and several aunts and uncles.

Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City, is in charge of arrangements.

Nellie Joe Weldon

PIERCEVILLE - Nellie Joe Weldon, 94, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Terrace Garden Care Center in Garden City.

She was born Oct. 20, 1906, in Jasper County, Mo., the daughter of Thomas and Callie Tennessee (Davis) Slate. After graduating from Clayton (N.M.) High School and Dodge City Business College, she worked as a bookkeeper for Dwyer Caterpillar Co. in Dodge City.

On Nov. 2, 1930, she married H. Clay Weldon at Dodge City. They moved to a farm in Finney County before moving into Pierceville in 1940. He died Aug. 24, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Beatrice Weldon; two brothers; and one sister.

Mrs. Weldon was a member of Pierceville Federated Church and belonged to the Dorcus Society of the church, and was a member of Federated Women's Club of Pierceville and the Finney County Historical Society. A homemaker, she enjoyed quilting, her vegetable garden, crocheting quilts, crossword puzzles and playing Solitaire. Her special interests were her church activities and her grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Elsie Williams, Ridgeway, Wis., and Hazel Tancayo, Pierceville; a brother, Fred Slate, Vista, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pierceville Federated Church, with the Rev. Charles Wagher officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.

Visitation hours are until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the funeral home, 412 N. Seventh St.

Mary M. VanDyke

HUGOTON - Graveside service for Mary M. VanDyke, 101, of Hugoton, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hugoton Cemetery, with the Rev. Nel Holmes officiating.

Mrs. VanDyke died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Satanta District Hospital. She had been a resident of the Satanta Long Term Care Unit for six months.

She was born July 30, 1899, at Webb City, Mo., the daughter of Milton and Martha (Dunham) Hall. On Nov. 11, 1919, she married Harvey VanDyke at Independence. He died April 6, 1956.

A Hugoton resident since 1960, moving from Wichita, Mrs. VanDyke owned VanDyke's Fashions during the 1960s and was a homemaker. She belonged to the United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens Activity Center, both at Hugoton.

She is survived by a daughter, Audrey E. Binns, Hugoton; a granddaughter; a grandson; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation hours are until 8 tonight at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton. Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church Building Fund, in care of the funeral home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.

Cordelia Frances Nusser

ELKHART - Funeral for Cordelia Frances Nusser, 86, of Elkhart, was to be 3 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church, Elkhart, with burial following in Elkhart Cemetery.

Mrs. Nusser died Friday, March 23, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

She was born Oct. 1, 1914, at Wichita, the only child of Albert Franklin and Cordelia May (Davis) Babb. She attended Fairmount Grade School and Roosevelt Intermediate School, and graduated from Wichita East High School and from Fairmount College (which would become Wichita State University) with a degree in home economics education.

An Elkhart resident since September 1936, she taught home economics and social sciences at Elkhart High School before marrying Lester Wesley Nusser on May 22, 1938, and becoming a homemaker.

Mrs. Nusser was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Coterie Club until illness prevented her from attending.

She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Lu Nusser Galish, Coraopolis, Pa.; a son, John Franklin Nusser, Elkhart; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Memorials are suggested to the church or Morton County Care Center, in care of Harrell Funeral Home, Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
