O. Boyd Waite, 92, lifetime resident of Cowley County, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Presbyterian Manor in Arkansas City.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield. Interment will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery west of Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The family will greet friends from 6-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Winfield FFA Chapter. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service, Winfield.

Glenn R. Calvin, 76, Winfield, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Winfield. Interment will be in Akron Cemetery north of Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday. The family will greet friends from 7-8 p.m.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home with Rev. Virgil Swift and Rev. Chris Cox officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the First Southern Baptist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Friends may call at the church from 5 p.m. until service time on Wednesday.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2002, at New Salem Cemetery, north of Winfield. Friends may call at the Funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday. The family will greet friends from 7-9 p.m. A memorial has been established for the Harry Hines Memorial Hospice of Wichita. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Richard McBride Morris, 84, of Arkansas City died Monday, June 3, 2002, at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center. Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2002, at the Alva Municipal Cemetery in Alva, Okla. A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Patricia Ann Ranzau, 54, Arkansas City, died at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, after a long illness. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be in Parker Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorials may be made to the funeral home to establish a trust for the grandchildren.

Arlene Evelyn Tidwell, 61, Arkansas City, died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at the Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2002, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home with Rev. John Horton officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Memorials have been established with Victory in the Valley or Vyne Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Luella Lavonne Shaff, 77, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at her home in Herlong, Calif. She was born July 28, 1924, in Arkansas City, the daughter of Lee and Evah Burden Nelson. A memorial service was held Friday, June 7, at the First United Methodist Church in Susanville, Calif. Burial is to follow in Arkansas City. Walton's Colonial Mortuary, Susanville, was in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests memorial donations to the American Heart Association, a university scholarship fund or to a favorite charity.

Donald L. Chambers, 75, longtime Shidler resident, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at the Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax. Lena Reints Hansz Freek, 87, longtime Newkirk resident, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, in the Newkirk Nursing Center. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, in Newkirk Cemetery with Danny W. Cornish, minister of the Newkirk Church of Christ officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. A memorial has been established with the Peckham Christian Church. Contributions may be made through the Eastman National Bank, Newkirk.

She was born Oct. 11, 1938, at Arkansas City, the daughter of Joe A. and Wilma W. McIntire, Arkansas City. George M. Bannon, 86, of Douglass, died on Sunday (June 16, 2002) at Augusta Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 21 at Miles Funeral Services. Interment will follow at the Douglass, Kan. Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on June 20. The family will greet friends from 7-8 p.m. that evening.
