Funeral services for Verda Lucille Wentworth, 89, Geuda Springs, who died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Mount Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Lindenberger of Mount Hope United Methodist Church officiaitng. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery. Special music was by Stephen Butler.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Graveside services for Ernie William Rhines, 78, Arkansas City, who died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, in Riverview Cemetery with Jesse Kindred of the North Summit Church of Christ officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Funeral services for Sarah Jane Nichols, 76, Arkansas City, who died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at the Church of Christ with Wayne Robbins officiating. Interment was at 3:30 p.m. in the Haynesville Cemetery in Preston.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Funeral services for Madge Lena Colbert, 87, Wichita, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at Rindt Erdman Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Warren of San Antonio, Texas officiating. Interment was in the Parker Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Ronald L. Mackey, 56, Van Buren, Ark., died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel. Interment will be in the Gill Cemetery in Van Buren.

Arrangements are under the direction ofthe Edwards Van Alma Funeral Home, Van Buren, Ark.

Marilyn Kay Shaw, 56, of Arkansas City, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Joseph Campus in Wichita. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the First United Methodist Church in Arkansas City, with the Rev. Lance Carrithers officiating. Private family interment will follow in the Parker Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials either to the First United Methodist Church Adult Choir and Bell Choir or the Arkansas City All Sports Booster Club. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are being made by Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City.

Aileen Henrietta Odell, Wichita, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Wichita. Aileen was a retired reading specialist/teacher who had worked professionally in Kansas City and Los Angeles.

Jackson Mortuary, 1125 East 13th St., Wichita, phone 316-262-5431, is in charge of arrangements.

Lewis G. Halverstadt, 95, of Oxford, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Riverview Manor in Oxford. He was a former resident of Derby. Service arrangements are pending and will be announced by Oxford Funeral Service, Oxford.

Memorials have been established with the Oxford United Methodist Church and with the Thrift Shop of Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Derby. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.

Laura Bertina Coates, 86, of Arkansas City, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Jesse Kindred will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with the Hillcrest Bible Baptist Church and The Salvation Army. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Ronald Durwin Ele, 51, of Arkansas City, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Via Christi Medical Center, Wichita. Funeral services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Interment will be in Parker Cemetery. Ronald was born Jan. 10, 1952, in Los Angeles, the son of William Ben and Billie Joy (Filkins) Ele. He moved to Arkansas City in 1986 and was employed as a warehouseman for ADM East at the time of his death.

Arrangements are being made by the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City.

Charles Earl Buxton, 54, former Ponca City-area resident, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at the Little Rock, Ark., Veterans Administration Hospital. First Assembly of God Church in Ponca City will host a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, for all family and friends. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. at Parker Cemetery in Arkansas City, with Larry Grantz presiding and eulogy by Danny Osborn. The family will be escorted to Arkansas City by CMA motorcyclists. Burial will be with military honors under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. Memorial Bibles may be purchased from the Gideon's in his honor.

Honorary bearers will be Gale Smith, Troy Dickison, Carl Fiel, Larry Pennington, Joe Figliola, Ricky Griffith, W.C. Watkins and Tim Weddle.

Ella M. Ferris, 89 died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Presbyterian Manor. Service arrangements are pending with Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City, and will be announced.

Miguel Gonzales of Arkansas City died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Arkansas City. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the church.

Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City, is in charge of arrangements.

Private funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, at the Memorial Lawn Chapel with Father Craig Sweeney of Trinity Episcopal Church officiating. Memorials have been established with the Presbyterian Manor and the American Red Cross. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Lewis Glenn Halverstadt, 95, Oxford, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at the Riverview Manor in Oxford. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, at the Oxford United Methodist Church with Pastor Wayne Handle officiating. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until 8 p.m. today. Memorials have been established with the United Methodist Church of Oxford or the Woodlawn United Methodist Thrift Store in Derby. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Oxford Funeral Service, Oxford.

Funeral services for Kenneth Wayne Weston, 70, Arkansas City, who died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at Central Christian Church with Rev. Steve Chambers officiating. Interment was in the Parker Cemetery. Honorary casket bearers were Tiffany Weston, Morgan Green, Abbey Weston, Charles Turner, Cecil Wilson, Ed McGowan and Tom Duncan.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Graveside services for Irma Grace Chisholm, 90, Arkansas City, who died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, in Springside Cemetery, with Wayne Robbins of the North Summit Church of Christ officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Violet Z. Stenstrom, 97, Winfield, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Resthaven. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, in Highland Cemetery in Winfield. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Friends may sign a register book on Friday at the funeral home. The family will greet friends that evening from 7-8:30 p.m. A memorial has been established for the Evangelical Free Church, Missions Fund. Contributions may be made through the church or the funeral home.

John Milton Lawrence, 80, Winfield, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at his home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at Miles Funeral Service. Private interment ceremonies will be held at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Thursday. Memorials have been established for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

John Virgil Hall, 50, Wichita, a mailroom worker at Ketch, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, in the Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City.

Arrangements are under the direction of Vann Funeral Services, Wichita.

Funeral services for Marilyn Kay Shaw, 56, Arkansas City, who died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at the first United Methodist Church with Rev Lance Carrithers officiating. Private interment was in the Parker Cemetery. Organist was Melba Maechtlen.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Sherri Kay Parmenter, 61, Winfield, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at her home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery in Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday. A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
