Charles A. Dale, 91, Cedar Vale, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Cedar Vale Community Hospital. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Wheeler Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Cedar Vale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-8 p.m. Friday. A memorial has been established with the Cedar Vale Community Hospital Activity Fund, 501 Cedar St., Cedar Vale, KS 67024.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wheeler Funeral Home, Cedar Vale.

Lois Lucille (Heater) Bright, 93, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at her home in Arkansas City. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2003, at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Chapel. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home until 8 p.m. today. Memorials have been established for the Harry Hynes Hospice or the Winfield Christian Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home, Winfield.

John Calvin Carra, 74, Caney, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2003, in Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan with Rev. Charles Klassen of the First Baptist Church officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home until 6 p.m. today and on Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home Sedan.

Pauline D. Gonzales, 77, Arkansas City, died Thursday, March 20, 2003, at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center. The Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Arkansas City. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003, at the church, with Father John B. Brungardt officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the Sacred Heart Catholic School. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Private services for Mary Elizabeth Metcalf 96, longtime resident of Grenola, who died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Independence, have recently been held.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard.

Funeral services for Robert Kenneth Jordan, Jr., 59, Arkansas City, who died Thursday, March 13, 2003, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2003, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home with Jesse A. Kindred of the Arkansas City Church of Christ officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery. An additional survivor was George McDowell, son-in-law, of Arkansas City. Honorary casket bearers were John Baucom, Daniel Givens, Willie Hall, Jason Craddock, Arky Reyez, Mike Foust and Don Parker.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Bonnie Henry, 84, Topeka, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at the Local Nursing Home, Topeka. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at the Parker-Price Chapel in Topeka. Interment will be in the Rochester Cemetery in Topeka. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. on Monday and the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. A memorial has been established for St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 1821 SW 37th St., Topeka, KS 6661-2567 or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka.

Erik Glantz, 29, died Thursday, March 20, 2003, at the Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

Erik Glantz, 29, formerly of Arkansas City, died Thursday, March 20, 2003, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita. Private family services will be held on a later date. He was born Nov. 1, 1973, the son of Melvin Lee and Karon G. (Cannon) Glantz, in Winfield. He was a recruiter for the Bank of America. A memorial has been established, the Erik Glantz Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Logan Ivory Hunter, age 10, Riley, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, from injuries sustained in an automobile, motorcycle accident. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2003, at the Sedalia Community Church northwest of Manhattan with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. A memorial has been established for the Riley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Holmes-Pfeifley Funeral Home, Riley.

Hubert D. Smith, 70, Arkansas City, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at The Vyne in Wichita. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Buddy Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Parker Cemetery. Military honors will be given by VFW Spencer-Ralston Post No. 1254. Memorials have been established with Harry Hynes Hospice and the American Cancer Society. Donations may be made through the funeral home.

Karen Sue Duncan Lambert, 51, former Arkansas City resident, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2003, at the home of Rose Fry, 30093 85th Drive in Arkansas City. Robbie Nichols of Overland Park will officiate. All friends and relatives are welcome. Cremation has been effected.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Linda; brother, Richard; son, Terry and two grandchildren, Adam and Ashley.

Georgia Irene "Sallie" Mayo, 75, Winfield, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at Winfield Rest Haven. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Miles Funeral Service. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Cremation has been effected. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Funeral services for Alice Lorraine Maze, 72, Buhler, who died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Robson of Buhler officiating. Interment was in the Douglass Cemetery in Douglass.

Deborah Simpson, 48, Hesston, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at her residence.

Carol L. Brown, 36, Lafayette, La., died Sunday, March 23, 2003, in Lafayette. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2003, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery.

Frieda Marie Rhodes, 91, formerly of Cambridge, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at NHC Healthcare in Moulton, Ala. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2003, in Memorial Lawn Cemetery north of Arkansas City. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9-11 a.m. Friday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service, Winfield.

Debra S. Simpson, 48, Hesston, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at her residence in Hesston. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2003, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Born Feb. 9, 1955, in Arkansas City, Debra was the daughter of Paul and Gloria (Criger) Hunter. Debra grew up and attended school in Arkansas, graduating from Arkansas City High School in 1973. A memorial has been established for the Debra Simpson Memorial Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Curlee Walker, 99, Arkansas City, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center.

Una N. Torkleson, 86, Atlanta, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Good Samaritan Village in Winfield. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2003, in the Atlanta Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-8 p.m. today and family will greet friends from 7-7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established with the Kansas State University Cancer Research Program.

Curlee (Forston) Grady Walker, 99, Arkansas City, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2003, at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with Rev. W.O. Reed officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. Sunday. A memorial has been estabished with the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Memorials have been established with the First United Methodist Church or Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
