Alfred Dean Riley, 79, of Arkansas City, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center here. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at Hawks Funeral Home, Ark City, with Mr. Jesse Kindred officiating. Interment will be in the Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Hawks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rosemary Martin, 84, of Wichita, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Olathe. She was born April 21, 1918, in Cambridge, the daughter of Soloman H. and Linna (Edwards) Pack. She had worked as a secretary for Boeing and for the Wichita school district. Interment services in the Burden City Cemetery will be private. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, at Riverside Christian Church in Wichita. There will be no visitation.

A memorial has been established for the church. Arrangements are by Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home, Winfield.

Margaret Hope Zerboni, 81, of Arkansas City, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center, Arkansas City. Private family services are scheduled for a later date. Cremation has been effected. Margaret was born June 2, 1921, in Elmdale, the daughter of Clyde A. and Flora H. (Coverdill) Pretzer. She was reared and educated in Elmdale and graduated from Elmdale High School in 1939. She later attended Emporia State Teachers College. She had worked at OCU in Oklahoma City.

Arrangements are being made by the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City.

Albert "Bud" E. Leavell, 90, of Winfield, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at his home. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, at Miles Funeral Service, Winfield. Military committal services will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 31. He was born Dec. 14, 1912, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of George Earl and Laura Beaulla (Wagner) Leavell. A World War II Navy veteran, he had worked as a truck driver and a carpenter.

Memorials have been established for the First Christian Church of Winfield and for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Carroll Wesley Pattrick, 63, of Gardner, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at his home. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 31, at the First Presbyterian Church in Gardner. Burial will be in the Gardner Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. He was born Jan. 8, 1940, in Mason, Okla., the son of John W. and Jewell Morrow Pattrick. He had been an engineer technician and branch manager at RVW, Inc., in Gardner. He was an Army veteran.

Bruce Funeral Home, 106 South Center, Gardner, KS 66030, is in charge of arrangements.

Alfred D. Riley, 79, Arkansas City, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements are pending and under the direction of the Hawks Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Carol Lynnette Daymude Brown, 36, Lafayette, La., died Sunday, March 23, 2003, in Lafayette, due to a short battle with cancer. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2003, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today. A memorial has been established for the children's education. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Graveside services for Frieda Marie Rhodes, 91, formerly of Cambridge, who died Monday, March 24, 2003, at NHC Healthcare in Moulton, Ala., were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2003, in Memorial Lawn Cemetery north of Arkansas City.

Arrangements were under the direction of Miles Funeral Service, Winfield.

Doris Gregory, Arkansas City, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at her residence.

Arrangements are pending and under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Funeral services for Hubert Dean Smith, 70, Arkansas City, who died Sunday, March 23, 2003, were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City, with Pastor Buddy Cook of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will be in the Parker Cemetery. Casket bearers were Michael Smith, Bruce Smith, John Brown, Bryson Smith, Brian Smith and Ron Castle.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Funeral services for Opal Mae Shaw, 93, Caldwell, who died Friday, March 21, 2003, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City, with Jesse A. Kindred of the North Summit Church of Christ officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Opal M. (Shipp) Oller, 89, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at the Shepherd's Center, Cimarron. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Maple City Cemetery, Maple City. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Cimarron. The family suggests memorials be made to the Shepherd's Center. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.

Katherine Marie Priest-Kuchar, 27, Winfield, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at her home. Rosary services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Arkansas City. Interment will follow at Tannehill Cemetery, southwest of Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial has been established for her son, Lucas Paul's education at Home National Bank in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Gary R. Hare, 49, Olathe, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at his home. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 6630 Nall Ave., Mission. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Gary's life at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at the VFW, 9550 Pflumm in Lenexa. Cremation will be effected. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Hospice of Olathe Medical Center. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Charlotte C. Hilario, 77, Arkansas City, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Via Christi Medical Center - St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

Marjorie Zeltha Hammock Mackey, 82, Stillwater, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Riverview Manor in Oxford. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, in Mount Hope Cemetery in Ripley, Okla., with Kirk Heldreth, minister, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of The Bernhardts' Strode Funeral Home, Stillwater, Okla.

Charlotte C. Hilario, 77, Arkansas City, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at the via Christi Medical Center - St. Francis Campus in Wichita. The rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the Charlotte C. Hilario Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Barbara Ann Fouts, 64, Arkansas City, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at her residence. Private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation has been effected. A memorial has been established with Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Marcia Louise Bolander, 58, lifelong resident of Winfield, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at the Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2003, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Apoline S. Larson, 89, Arkansas City, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center.

Richard H. Hasty, 70, Arkansas City, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Via Christi Oklahoma Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2003, in Parker Cemetery in Arkansas City with Rev. Vern Richerson officiating. The family will be at the home at 524 South 10th in Arkansas City. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Kenny Hasty and Steve Hasty.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Trout Funeral Home, Ponca City.

Lucille Unger, 90, Winfield, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Winfield Rest Haven. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Tisdale United Methodist Church east of Winfield. Interment will follow in Tisdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2003. The family will greet friends from 7-8:30 p.m. that evening. A memorial has been established for Tisdale United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
