Funeral services for Nelson Gary Wood, 37, of Norman, Okla., who died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, in Norman, Okla., from injuries received in an accident while working with a backhoe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the First Christian Church in Norman with the Rev. David Spain officiating. Interment was in the Norman IOOF Cemetery. He was born Aug. 24, 1965, in Norman. He attended Noble, Okla., Public Schools graduating from Noble High School and Mid-American Vo-Tech in Wayne, Okla., in 1983. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to a fund for the sons of Nelson Wood at the Republic Bank (36th and Robinson) in Norman, Okla.

Neva Drake, 94, Cumbernauld Village, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at Cumbernauld. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at the Grandview United Methodist Church. Raymond Ernest Custer, 85, Wichita, formerly of Arkansas City, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, at his home in Wichita. Interment was in Parker Cemetery. Born Jan. 10, 1952, in Los Angeles, he was the son of William Ben and Billie Joy (Filkins) Ele. He was reared and educated in Montebello, Calif., graduating from Montebello High School in 1971. He was raised by his Aunt Opal Irene Filkins. An education fund has been established for his children. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
