Mildred G. Wesbrook, 92, Winfield, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at Good Samaritan Village. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Tisdale United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Dexter Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2003, and the family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established in Mildred's name for the Tisdale United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the church or the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the directon of Miles Funeral Service, Winfield.

Jerry Goans, 68, Arkansas City, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at the Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2003, at the Hawks Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Geuda Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. Sunday. A memorial has been established with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Louie Victoria White of Sedan, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003, at the Wauneta United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Moore Prairie Cemetery. Friends may all at the funeral home until 8 p.m. today. A memorial has been established with the Wauneta United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial for Aaron James Ternes, 20, Mulvane, who died Sunday, April 20, 2003, was conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2003, at the Holy Name Catholic Church in Winfield. Celebrants were Father Mike Nolan, Father Bernard Gorges, Father Mike Maybrier and Father Stephen Thapwa. Interment was in the Oxford Cemetery. Casket bearers were Jeff Ternes, Travis Ternes, Greg Ternes, Andy Ternes, Justin Ternes, Stan Ternes, Kevin Ternes, Steven Ternes.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Oxford Funeral Service, Oxford.

Thelma May France, 96, Winfield, died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at William Newton Hospital. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2003, at the Cambridge Kansas Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Sunday. A memorial has been established for Central Baptist Church in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Brianna Lynn Minnie, infant daughter of Bobby and Kayla Minnie of Arkansas City, died Thursday, April 24, 2003 at the South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center.

Harry H. Horrocks, 91, Winfield, died Saturday, April 26, at William Newton Hospital, Winfield. n addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby Goad, Dorothy McMillan and Mabel Rogers; his half-sisters, Josie Poindexter and May Breece; his brother Albert Horrocks; his half-borther, Bill Breece and his granddaughter, Sonyia Sphar. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Miles Funeral Service. Burial will be at New Salem Cemetery, northeast of Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 pm. Tuesday, April 29. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

A memorial has been established in Horrocks' name for the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Gertrude "Gretie" Scott, 90, Winfield, died Friday, April 25, 2003, in her residence. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield. A memorial has been established with the Harry Haynes Hospice or the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Swisher-Taylor and Morris Funeral Home of Winfield.

Edgar Roy (Jack) Thompson, 79, Winfield, died Friday, April 25, at his home. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his son, Joel L. Thompson and his wife Carla in 1975; his brothers, Raymond Thompson and Jimmy Thompson, and his sisters, Lola Earnhart and Dorothy Biggs. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Burial will be at the Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 28. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

A memorial in Thompson's name has been established for the First Baptist Church Youth Group and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Bertha C. Schieber, 91, longtime Newkirk, Okla., resident, died Sunday, April 27, at her home in Newkirk. A prayer service has been scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday in Miller-Stahl Funeral Chapel, Newkirk. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established with St. Mary's School through Eastman National Bank, Box 468, Newkirk 74647-0468. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Alvin Vap, two sisters, Anastasia Otto and Francis Schieber, and one grandchild.

The family will be at the John Luis residence south of Newkirk.

Judith A. Rossow, 64, Arkansas City, died Friday, April 25, at The Vyne in Wichita. The family will greet friends at the VFW Spencer-Ralston Post 1254 bingo hall, 3212 N. Summit St., from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 29. A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Hospice and contributions can be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home.

Dorothy Elizabeth Bratton, 93, a resident of Good Samaritan Village in Winfield, died Saturday, April 36, at good Samaritan. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church in Winfield and Youthville in Newton. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

R.J. Brunk, 75, Arkansas City, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2003, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jake Newman officiating. Cremation will be effected. Friends may call at the funeral home until 8 p.m. today and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Helen Waite, 99, Winfield, died March 14, 2003, at Cumbernauld Village. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church in Winfield. A memorial has been established with Southwestern College. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Charlotte Ann Pixley Nichols died April 26, 2003 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City. Graveside Services which will be at 2 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2003, in Riverview Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to MaxFund Animal Adoption Center, 1025 Galapagos Street, Denver, Colo. 80204-3942.

Wilma I. Holroyd, 74, Winfield, died Monday, April 28, 2003, at Good Samaritan Village. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Winfield. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-7:30 p.m. Memorials have been established for the Alzheimer Association or the First Baptist Church of Winfield.

Family interment will be in the Burden City Cemetery in Burden. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Penwell-Gable Highland Chapel in Topeka. A memorial has been established for Hope Lutheran Church, Topeka.

Wilma E. White, 67, rural Wellington, died April 29, 2003, at Via Christi - St. Francis Campus in Wichita from injuries received in a car accident. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2003, at the Oxford United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-8 p.m. Saturday and on Sunday from 1-8 p.m. A memorial has been established with the Oxford Schools Athletic Department. Contributions may be made at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2003, also at the church, with Father John Brungardt officiating. Interment will be in the Silverdale Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
